The first few chapters of Resident Evil Requiem focus mostly on Grace Ashcroft, so Leon S. Kennedy’s fans may be feeling left out. However, once the Water Treatment Plant section is over, the next area is East Raccoon City. This entire section is centered on Leon, so it is going to be full of action.
While there is going to be plenty of action, this section is not going to be easy at all. It is not as complicated as the escape center, but it has many challenging aspects. It is also perhaps the second biggest section in the game. Since this section is quite difficult, I will provide you with a complete walkthrough of the East Raccoon City area and explain how to collect the three detonator parts in Resident Evil Requiem.

Head To Raccoon City Center
Your first objective is to head to the Raccoon City Center, but of course, it is not going to be that simple. Move forward and then take a right near the container. There will be a number 04 container ahead, which you will be able to unlock later.
Head left from the container and enter the building. There is some loot inside, especially on the other side of the counter. Once you have looted the building, you will find a revolving door on the north side. Before moving ahead, note that the building right next to the current one also contains some loot. There will also be a Mr. Raccoon collectible.
After exploring both buildings, go through the revolving door and follow the path. A cutscene will begin. Once it ends, you will be trapped inside the building and must find a way out.
Find A Way Out
Go ahead and slash the webs using your hatchet. Follow the path forward, and the spider will smash through the wall. There is no point in shooting it for now, so run back, and a scripted event will occur. Then run to the right side, slash the webs, and open the door.
After that, slash the webs to your left and head upstairs. Continue progressing while cutting through the webs, and you will enter a room full of small spiders. There are too many of them to fight, so do not waste ammo. Simply run past them. Before heading through the exit sign, wait for the spider to attack.
You need to move slightly closer to the exit door to trigger the spider’s attack. When the spider moves in, step back and shoot if the small spiders start approaching you. Then run toward the exit, go up the stairs, and you will receive a new objective.
Defeat The Giant Spider
For this fight, I recommend using the shotgun. Shoot the spider while constantly moving so you do not get trapped. You will notice an explosive cylinder in the area. Throw it at the spider and, after the explosion, it will be stunned. Then move behind it and start shooting.
That is its weak point, and you need to repeatedly target it. The spider will eventually retreat, so head up, equip your pistol, and shoot the explosive. You need to be quick and accurate to detonate it and stun the spider again. Then switch back to your shotgun and continue firing.
There is no need to use Requiem rounds here since the monster is close to defeat. However, if you run out of ammo, you can use the Requiem. Be sure to search the area, as there is plenty of ammo available. Once you have dealt enough damage, a cutscene of Leon defeating the giant spider will begin.
After the cutscene, head straight, climb over the obstacle, and go upstairs. Then pass through the revolving door and head up the stairs again. Another cutscene will begin. After it ends, examine the gate. You now need to find a detonator. Head to the left side, where there will be a camp to the east.
Search The Camp
As you enter the camp, you will get an objective to search the camp. On the other side of the tent, there will be a generator. Turn it on, and a cutscene will begin. You can save your game using the laptop. To the left, there will be a tactical tracker. This records your kills, and you earn points for each enemy you defeat.
Then interact with the huge box. It is basically the shop where you can purchase items and upgrade your weapons. After that, interact with the images on the opposite side of the laptop. This will reveal where the three pieces of the detonator are, so you now have to retrieve all of them.
Collect The Detonator Parts
Now you need to find all three detonator parts in Resident Evil Requiem to blow open the gate. This is going to take the longest in this section because not only will there be intense action, but there will also be a lot of traversal.
Find The Distributor
Exit the tent and, to the right side of the generator, there will be a box of supplies. Open it to get some ammo. On the left side, there will be a button. Press it to open the shutter. Then crouch, enter, and move ahead to the end, and some zombies will emerge from the ground.
Defeat them and make sure to use their dropped weapons. You can throw their weapons at other enemies, which helps a lot. There will also be some boxes around containing bullets. Once you have defeated the enemies, press the red button, but it will not work.
Find The Cedarbrook Apartments Key
So now you have to shoot down the container and jump on it. Head up, defeat some more zombies, pick up some loot, and keep moving forward. To continue progressing, you need to head to the northwest side. Shoot down the container and move ahead. However, you can also shoot down the container on the right side to collect some additional items.
There will be quite a few zombies here, so defeat them all and continue forward. Then head right and enter the room, where you will find the Cedarbrook Apartments Key. Once you have found the key, go through the door right next to it and open the lockers on the right.
Then exit through the left side, go up the ladder, and you will see a generator. Keep this generator in mind because you will need to return here later. Now, enter through the door next to it and continue moving forward. Head up the stairs. On your right, there will be a green herb, and on the left will be the first piece of the detonator.
Head left, and inside the yellow box, you will find the Distributor.
Check Your Surroundings
After getting the first of the three detonator parts in Resident Evil Requiem, you will receive another objective. You need to check your surroundings. There will be two red lights. Two of the areas will be marked simply by inspecting them. For the third location, look slightly down and to the left of the first red light you noticed.
By inspecting all three areas, your objective of checking the surroundings will be complete. Then head down using the elevator on your left and purchase some items from the shop. Upgrading the weapon you use most often is going to be the best option here. Then save your game, and it will be time to head out and find the second detonator part.
Find The Signal Receiver
Now that you have the first detonator from the Central Camp, head left and go downstairs. Open the door using the Cedarbrook apartment keys. Enter and shoot down the briefcase. You can also use the hatchet by getting close to it. Pick up the grenade, then go ahead and take a right.
You can shoot down the ladder to get some loot. After that, head down and enter. Follow the path ahead, and eventually, on the left side, you will see some water. Head inside, defeat the zombie, and interact with the battery storage box on the right. Then you will get an objective of finding the batteries.
Getting The First Battery
To get the first battery, head back up and then go through the blue door. Go ahead, and eventually you will reach a dead end. The door requires a crank, which you will get in a difficult location, so do not worry about it right now. Head down the ladder, go right, and follow the path.
Drop down and then go in the opposite direction to get a valve handwheel. As you get back, some zombies will surface. Defeat them and use the valve handwheel to open up a path for yourself. Rotate the valve and then leave it. Some zombies will appear, so defeat them first and then rotate it even more.
There are going to be quite a lot of zombies, among which one will be the same one you defeated in the chapel. Using a pistol on it may be better, as you will be able to target the orange flesh easily. Also, whenever you stun it, make sure to use the melee attack, as that destroys the flesh more often.
Once you have defeated the monster, use the valve and go ahead to take some loot from the left side. Then defeat some more zombies. Follow the path ahead while going up and enter the room. Inside, you will find the first battery.
Getting The Second Battery
After getting the first battery, go back and insert it into the box. Then, to the left, you will notice a ladder. Head up the ladder and drop down. In this section, I recommend using stealth, as that will help in saving bullets. In some instances, you may not be able to use stealth, but for most of it, using stealth is recommended.
There are many trucks containing items. Open the tailgate of every truck you see. Do note that there are going to be a couple of zombies inside one of them. However, that one also contains an explosive cylinder, so shooting it to take care of the zombies is better.
Make your way ahead, and eventually you will reach the other side. You basically need to head to the northwest side of the area. Defeat the zombies and enter the room. Inside, you will find the other battery, which you then need to insert into the battery box.
On the right side of the room will be a submachine gun, Gal. Pick it up and then head back to the battery box. Once you have inserted the second battery, the path will unlock. Do note that there is a ladder in the room where you found the second battery. You need to use that to head back.
Once the door is open, go ahead to the left, and a cutscene will commence. After the cutscene is over, head inside the container for some loot and then enter the apartments.
Explore The Apartments
Note: On the right side, with Leon facing the apartments, you will see a giant container above. Head toward it, and on the right side will be a lever to drop it. This will unlock a shortcut to the central base. Right next to the lever will be another location you will need to visit, but not yet.
The apartments will be on the left side, but on the right side, you can find a new rifle. It will be inside a container, and now that you have the key to open the containers, it should not be a problem. After you have the new rifle, head back inside the apartments and go straight to open the box for some loot.
Find The Crank Lever
Then head up the stairs, and you will come across a gate. You now need the crank lever to open it. So head right, drop down, defeat the zombies, and there will be a door that can be opened with a crank lever. Open the door, and you will get the lever. Loot the area and then head back to open the gate using the lever.
Head up the stairs, and as you reach there, you will notice that some of the enemies will have access to the artillery. They will be shooting missiles, and your aim is to take them all down. You can take down the first by simply using the rifle. Once you do that, defeat the zombies and head forward.
Go through the destroyed building and then shoot down another enemy firing missiles. If you cannot shoot down that enemy, you can head up to it and then take it out. Once that monster is defeated, use the artillery to shoot the missile at the other enemy in the north. This will take care of all the ones shooting missiles. Use the artillery to defeat the other zombies.
Now head up on the surface where you just defeated the zombie firing missiles. There you will find a broken signal receiver. It is broken, but do not worry, you can fix this very easily.
Repair The Signal Receiver
You can repair the signal receiver by using a repair device that can be found in a container. Luckily, this container is right next to the central camp. Now that you know where the item is, head back to the central camp. Make sure to loot everything before leaving.
Once you are done, head back to the central camp, and on the right side will be a container. Open it using the key, and inside will be the repair device along with a motorcycle. This motorcycle will come in handy, but not yet. Fix the item using the kit, and you will now have two working detonator parts, so it is time to find the third one.
Find The Relay
To find the Relay, you will need to go a little out of your way. You need to get access to fuel so you can start a generator that will let you proceed.
Getting Fuel
You may have noticed a ladder in the opposite direction from the apartments. Shoot it down and go up. From there, you can enter the gas station. On the left side will be a valve from which you can fill the fuel into a container. To find that, enter the building and make your way ahead.
Exit through the broken wall, and you will find a container along with a generator. Pick up the container and head back out. As you are making your way out, you will get the objective of eliminating the infected, as many will appear. Take out the one with the chainsaw and then defeat the enemies with this weapon.
Eventually, one more enemy will appear with a chainsaw. Use the chainsaw on this monster too, as upon clashing, a unique animation will trigger. After you have defeated everyone, fill up the container with the fuel and then head back to the generator. Pour fuel into the generator and then press the button to open the gate.
Pour Fuel Into Another Generator
Now head back to the generator you saw before and pour fuel into it. Then head inside, go up the ladder, and inside you will find some loot. If you want to head underground, you can do so. Just go to the right side to get an item, then head left, and there will be a complete underground section.
There will be a lot of zombies along with items, but nothing much will be there. So it is a completely optional area that you can skip. Once you are done with the underground area, it is time to find the Relay.
Head Back To The Central Camp
Now, you may remember that there was a generator in the first area you went to after reaching the central camp. So head back to the central camp and upgrade your weapons or buy anything you deem useful. Once done, head up using the elevator and head right. Along the way, on the right side will be a way to go down.
Use that to head down and then go ahead to find the generator. Pour fuel in the generator and unlock the door to your left. Then, using the zipline, go ahead and follow the path ahead. Go up the stairs, follow the path ahead, and eventually you will hit a dead end.
Then look at the top right side, and there will be some planks you can break. Use the hatchet to break them, and the way will be unlocked. Go ahead, shoot the planks, jump to let Leon aura farm, and then jump again. After that, head left and shoot the planks above you.
Then jump down, destroy the planks, and jump again. After that, go ahead, open the elevator, and drop down. Do note that the two carts on the top are going to come down. The right one will come down first, and the left one will follow. Head up to the right and fall down.
Head Up From The Glass Floor Area
This area is a little complicated, as you are now literally on the glass. There are going to be a lot of zombies here, so you will have to be careful. One of them will have an explosive, so try to gather the others around that one monster. Then shoot the glass or the monster carrying the explosive.
This will cause an explosion and break a few pieces of the glass around it, making most of them fall. Then take care of the rest, and after that, your objective will be to make your way even higher. You will have to break one more glass floor to make your way. Shoot the glass below the tall wooden closet-type structure and go up.
I recommend shooting some zombies with your sniper, as you will have to go there in a bit. Once done, head down from the right side and open the gate ahead. Inside the yellow box will be the last detonator part, the Relay. With that, you have completed the collect the detonator parts objective. Now you have to destroy the gate, but before that, you need to find a way to head back down.
Head Back Down To Destroy The Gate
Head inside the room to your left to save your progress and to buy or upgrade anything. Then get out, head right, take another right, enter the room, go ahead, shoot down the stairs, grab the loot, go back down, and continue ahead. Use your sniper to clear out some zombies and then head forward.
There are going to be quite a few zombies here, so you need to defeat them and keep going up. This area will not be difficult, so you should not have much trouble clearing it. Once you are at the top, shoot down the container, and inside will be some zombies and loot.
Then head back up and slide down to make progress. Move the valve handwheel, and then you need to do the same on the other side. Use the stairs to go further and then enter the room to your left. This will unlock a shortcut to the room where you can save your game. Then head out and take a left.
Follow the path ahead and go up. In this area, an enemy with a chainsaw will appear. Try to blast the explosive cylinder on it. Other than that, I recommend shooting it with the sniper to deal much more damage. You will not be able to pick up the chainsaw this time. However, make sure to use the enemy’s weapon to hit the others. After that, proceed further, loot the area, and move the valve.
Head Down Using The Elevator
This will lower the elevator, so hop on and press the switch. Now getting down will be simple. The elevator will stop midway, so you will have to shoot some zombies who will try to hop on. Defeat them, and as the elevator moves, more zombies will fall.
There is no need to shoot the ones that are behind the plank. Those zombies will not be able to destroy the plank, so you are safe from them. Defeat the ones that fall on the elevator, and eventually, a cutscene will start. When the cutscene ends, go ahead, and there are going to be a lot of zombies. Throw the explosive cylinder at them, as they are going to be close to each other.
This way, you can take out most of them in a single go. After you have defeated them, go ahead, open the gate, and go up. The gate you need to destroy will be just ahead of you.
Destroy The Gate
Detonate the bomb, and the gate will be destroyed. Then, during a cutscene, Leon will take out the bike and head to the center of Raccoon City. However, midway Gideon will try to sabotage him. You will have unlimited ammo, so do not worry and start shooting the monsters.
They will be defeated pretty easily. Also, if you get the chance, try to hit Gideon, as doing so will get you an achievement. Eventually, a part will come where you will have to shoot some of the explosive cylinders. Make sure to do that quickly. The rest is pretty simple, so enjoy, and you will eventually reach the center. With that, the East Raccoon City section of Resident Evil Requiem comes to an end.
