Resident Evil Requiem has recently been released and has managed to dethrone Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to become the highest user-rated game. Both games have a 9.5 user rating, but the former is ahead in the rankings. The majority of the fandom is surprised not only by Leon S. Kennedy’s gameplay but also by Grace Ashcroft’s. Now that you have escaped the care center, the next sections are going to get more intense, both story-wise and gameplay-wise. That is because in the Water Treatment Plant, you achieve a major goal, and after that, there will be a long Leon section set in Raccoon City. Here, I will provide you with a complete walkthrough of the Water Treatment Plant area in Resident Evil Requiem.

I highly recommend equipping Requiem before you head out of the bunker where Grace put down Emily. You will get plenty of Requiem bullets there, and to make this section extremely easy for yourself, you will definitely need the gun. With it equipped, you can shoot the monster to stun it repeatedly and make progress.

Get To The Surface
After you finish the Chapel section with Leon, you will play as Grace again. Your first objective will be to get to the surface, and of course, it is not going to be simple. The path ahead is very straightforward, so keep moving forward. Eventually, you will reach a set of stairs. Go up and then head right.
As you go inside the bunker, a cutscene will begin, and Grace will put Emily down. Then you will notice that the stalker monster is back, and in this section, you need to deal with it for good. Inside the bunker, there will be a typewriter on the table for you to save your progress. Along with that, there will be some other items, including five rounds of ammo for the Requiem.
Once you have picked up everything, leave the bunker, and Grace will close the door. Now, remember that the stalker monster will be roaming the area, but you can now deal with it.
Open The Hatch On The Girl
Your main objective is to open the hatch, but you cannot do that because there is no power. So first, you need to find a way to restore power in the Water Treatment Plant. Once you have exited the bunker, head straight, and you will see a light on the left side. You can activate the light, as this will help you keep the monster away.
However, it will not stay on all the time. After turning it on, head to the area it is lighting up. Interact with the switch to open the hatch slightly. Then the power will go out, and you will receive an objective to restart the power distribution units.
Restart The Power Distribution Units
The power distribution units are on the lower floor; from the switch, head straight downstairs. You will not be able to go back up until you have restored the power. However, it is not going to be difficult since you have the Requiem. Head down, pick up one more bullet, and then turn right.
You will then see the monster roaming the area. You can use stealth in this section, but that can be challenging. If the monster notices you, simply use the Requiem to shoot it. It will be stunned for a while. After that, you can run to the power distribution unit and interact with the lever.
Restarting The First One
There are three units in total, and the first one is located on the right side. If you want to use the stealth method, simply wait for the monster to come closer and then move away. Then head straight and follow the path to the right.
You will notice a red light. That is where you need to go. Head there, and you will see a lever. Interact with it, and you will successfully restart one of the power distribution units. This will also light up the area, which means the monster will not be able to enter this section.
Restarting The Second One
Now that you have restarted one, it is time to do the same for the next. Head back to where you came from. The previous one was on the east side, so now head to the one on the north side. You can also go to the west side first, as it does not matter which one you choose.
Once you reach the distribution center, note that you will not be able to restart it because the crank lever is missing. You can find the lever in the room right next to the distribution center. Once you have it, head back. As you are about to insert it, the monster will grab you.
It will throw you to the other side of the room, so stealth will not work here. You need to use the Requiem to stun the monster and then insert the lever to restart the second distribution center.
Note
If you do not have the Requiem equipped, you can run away from the area and wait for the monster to lose aggro. Then return and insert the lever to restart the second distribution center.
Restarting The Third One
Now you only have to restart the last unit. To get there, exit from the distribution center on the north side and then head straight. It will be exactly opposite the second one, but the entrance will be from the east side. As you interact with the lever, it will not move, and the monster will appear.
When that happens, simply take out your Requiem and shoot it in the head. After doing so, the monster will be stunned, and you will be able to move the lever. Hold X or A, and soon enough, you will restart the final unit.
Note
If you do not have the Requiem equipped, there is another way to handle this situation. Simply go out of the room and then head right. There will be a light that you can activate. Since the monster will be following you, turn on the light, and it will get burned. Use that opportunity to head back inside and restart the distribution unit.
With that, the objective “Restart the Power Distribution Units” in Resident Evil Requiem will be complete, and the power will be restored. Then, your objective will change to open the roof hatch.
Open The Roof Hatch
Now head back upstairs and press the switch again. The monster will now be in the upper section. You can either shoot it with the Requiem or simply run and interact with the button. Once you do that, the roof hatch will open, and the monster will start burning.
At that point, you will get a prompt telling you to shoot the monster. You do not need the Requiem anymore, so simply use your regular weapon and shoot it in the face.
Return To Emily
After you have defeated the monster, your objective will change to returning to Emily. Head back to the bunker, and a cutscene will be triggered where something tragic happens. Then Leon will appear, and you will need to shoot the monster a few times. After that, another cutscene will begin, concluding the Water Treatment Plant section in Resident Evil Requiem.
The next section is quite lengthy and features Raccoon City, or at least what is left of it. I will cover that in the next walkthrough.
