Wrenwood and Care Center featured Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil 9, also known as Requiem, is the latest iteration in the franchise. This game has received plenty of positive reception from critics, making it one of the highest-rated Resident Evil games. The game features a blend of action and survival horror, satisfying fans of both genres. For more information, head over to its Steam page.

In Resident Evil games, there are a lot of puzzles to solve, and some combat sections can be a little challenging. There are quite a few boss fights, too, so you may need some help at some point. Here, I will provide you with a complete walkthrough of the first two areas in Resident Evil Requiem: Wrenwood and Care Center.

Head To The Wrenwood Hotel

Map Resident Evil Requiem

After the cutscene ends, your first objective in Resident Evil Requiem will be to head to the Wrenwood Hotel. Go a little ahead, and you will find the city guide. Go ahead, a cutscene will commence, and after that, keep moving on the path. Eventually, you will reach a dead end, so from there, go left and enter through the door.

Turn on the flashlight, as it will be pretty dark inside. Go ahead and interact with the door with a hole in it to trigger a cutscene. Once the cutscene ends, you will obtain a file, so investigate the area. When you are done, you may have the key to open the door. However, if you do not, it will be just left at the door.

The key to the door will be on the back of the image in Resident Evil Requiem, Wrenwood Hotel.

You need to look for Grace’s picture as the key will be on its back side. As you interact with the picture, a cutscene will commence, and you will get a new objective.

Head To Room 204

Open the door using the key you just got. Then follow the path ahead, and at the end, inside the room with filing cabinets, you will find the Wrenwood Hotel Floor Plan. The plan will be on the left side of the room. After that, get out of the room and head upstairs.

Then, head left and go up more stairs. There will be a table on the left side where you will find wire cutters. Once you have this item, head north and open the door on the left. Then, go ahead, and you will find room 204. Enter the room and start investigating.

On the bed, you will find a lot of photos of Grace. Interact with them, and a cutscene will start. After the cutscene, your objective will be updated.

Find What Alyssa Hid

Move the luggage cart to the right in Resident Evil Requiem, Wrenwood Hotel.

So now you have to find what Alyssa hid from Grace eight years ago. For that, head downstairs and then head right. You need to go all the way down. To the right will be a luggage cart; interact with it to find Alyssa’s journal. After the cutscene ends, you will have to evade the shotgun’s hit.

Keep holding the X or A button and move the analogue stick to avoid getting hit. Eventually, you will get out and pick up the emergency exit key. Once you have successfully managed to get away, head up the stairs and go to the top. Once you are at the top, go ahead, and there will be a door to the right.

Open it using the emergency key you just received. Then, a cutscene will be triggered, and once it ends, you will be playing as Leon, yes, this early.

Go After Victor

Leon Resident Evil Requiem
Leon appears when you are done with the Wrenwood hotel area in Resident Evil Requiem.

Even if you cannot see Victor, do not worry; just head straight, and shortly after, a cutscene will commence. Then, you will have to shoot down the woman Victor just turned into a zombie. Just shoot her a couple of times, and the melee options should appear.

There are going to be more zombies, so you can test the new combat mechanics of Leon. Go ahead and take a right to find many more enemies. Do not worry about the ammo, as the enemies will drop it. Simply shoot them and then perform the melee attack.

Defeat The Zombies While Saving The Citizens

Make sure to save the citizens from the zombies. There will be one zombie with a weapon. Once you have shot him down, you can interact with his weapon to throw it at the nearest zombie ahead. Also, make sure to pick up a green herb from the back of the van on the right side along the path. As you go ahead, you will get a pop-up of the game telling you to equip the Requiem, which one-shots the zombies.

However, it only has five bullets, so if you do not want to use it, that is alright, as the normal pistol will do the job just fine. Once you have defeated the enemies, go ahead, and a cutscene will commence. With that, the first chapter of Resident Evil Requiem, Wrenwood, will be over.

Care Center – Walkthrough

As you fail to find Victor while playing as Leon, you switch back to Grace, who is in the care center. Once the cutscene is over, you will find yourself in a room with some interactables. Once you have interacted with everything, although it is not absolutely necessary, head out the door and keep going straight.

Enter the Prep Room and interact with the switch to turn on the light. It will be blinking. Then a bottle will come your way, so pick it up. This is something you can throw by pressing L2 and then R2. After that, head out of the Prep Room and take a left.

Interact with the switch ahead to turn on the lights. Along the way, to the right, you will see room 202, and just ahead is room 201. You need a key to unlock the latter, so go ahead and follow the path. You will also find another interactable, a fuse box. It will be missing a fuse, so your objective will be updated to find one.

Note

You can enter room 202, but there won’t be any light inside, so you won’t be able to interact with anything. In order to see what’s inside, you will need the lighter from room 201, which can be unlocked by using the Cherub Key.

Find A Fuse

You can find the fuse in room 201, but to enter it, you need a key. Fortunately, the key is inside the drawer just to the left of the fuse box. Pick up the Cherub Key and open room 201. Inside, you can save the game and also find another empty bottle. The empty bottle will be inside the cabinet.

From there, head right and pick up the lighter from the shelf. You can light it by pressing up on the D pad. Just to the right of the lighter will be the fuse you need, but you will have to find the right tool to open its container. To find the tool, you need to head back to the Prep Room, since previously you could not proceed further because it was dark.

Head Back To The Prep Room

Now that you have a lighter, head back to the Prep Room and proceed further. Do note that you can investigate room 202 as you have the lighter. This room basically tells you how to deal with the monster that hides in the shadows.

As you head back to the Prep Room, the monster will appear, and you will have to run from it. Ideally, you want to head to room 201 because this monster cannot be near lights. As you head there, the monster will block the path, so immediately turn around, go ahead, take a left, and enter room 203.

Since the room has lights in it, the monster will not be able to come inside. Now head back into the Prep Room and proceed further. Inside, you will find a Med Injector, which fully restores your health. On the right side of the room, at the top of the shelf, is a red box. Inside that red box is the item you need to get the fuse.

Move The Cart And Lay Low

However, to be able to reach the box, you need to step on something. To the left of it, there will be a cart. You can move it to the right side. As you move the cart, the monster will return, so head back and hide behind the table-like object. It will be right next to the red light.

You just need to wait for the monster to go away, and when it does, head to the cart and climb it to grab the toolbox. Inside, you will find the screwdriver. Make sure the cart is placed correctly so you can climb it to reach the toolbox. Also, if you cannot climb the cart, stand in the middle of where you were holding it.

Then you should be able to get the climb up prompt. Also, note that the monster can appear again, so do not make any noise and just hide behind the cart. If the monster gets too close to you, you can throw the empty bottle to the other side. However, I would not recommend wasting the bottle just yet.

Note

You don’t have to move the cart fully to the right. Just move it to the right until two objects from it have fallen. Once that happens, head back to the hide under the table and wait for the monster to go away. After that, you can simply climb the cart to get the screwdriver. However, if you move the cart again, the monster may come back.

Head Back To Room 201

After getting the screwdriver, head outside the room and move towards room 201. As you go ahead, the monster will break through the door on the left in the hallway. So, when that happens, run away to room 203, and the monster will go away.

Then, start heading towards room 201, and in the hallway, you will see the monster roaming. So, now you have to head inside the room that the monster broke before. From there, head straight and crouch down facing toward the broken door. Then, when you see the monster outside in the hallway, throw the empty bottle at the right side where the cart is.

This will cause the monster to go that so while crouching, exit the room and head to room 201. You just have to exit the room while crouching; once you exit, you can sprint to room 201.

Grab The Fuse And Escape The Monster Again

Once you are outside room 201, enter and save your game. After that, open the container using the screwdriver, and you will get the fuse. As you get the fuse, the monster will come inside, so you will have to rush toward the fuse box to insert the fuse.

You just need to interact with the fuse box, and then a cutscene will commence. After the cutscene is over, your POV will shift to Leon.

Investigate The Care Center

As the cutscene ends, you will need to investigate the care center. So, follow the nurse, and when you reach Dr. Gideon’s room, a cutscene will commence. When the cutscene is over, your objective will be updated to eliminate the infected.

The one right in front of you has a chainsaw. You must not get hit by it, so immediately aim at the enemy, preferably at the head, and shoot. If the enemy takes a swing at you, you can parry the chainsaw by pressing L1, and the timing is not very strict. However, you will have enough time to shoot him.

Pick Up The Chainsaw And Eliminate The Infected

Once you have taken out the one with the chainsaw, immediately shoot the ones that are around him. Do not shoot everyone, just the ones that are around the chainsaw. Then shoot the chainsaw and pick it up. You can now use the chainsaw to defeat the enemies.

Press R2 near the enemy, and it will be total annihilation. Even if you drop the chainsaw, do not worry, you can pick it up again. Use the chainsaw to eliminate all of the infected. Then pick up the ammo around the area and get out of the room.

Get Out Of The Room

Now, to get out of the room, you need to have the chainsaw with you. Pick up the chainsaw again if you dropped it, and then head to the locked door. Interact with the door, and Leon will use the chainsaw to force the door open. Then go ahead, and you will see Mr. Raccoon. Shoot it to get an achievement or trophy.

Then go up the stairs, move ahead, and you will be inside the Central Hall. Then a cutscene will start featuring Grace being captured by the monster. Leon will save her, and both of them will be separated. With that, the first part of the Care Center in Resident Evil Requiem will be over.
