Welcome to Into Indie Games’ walkthrough for Chapter 1 of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
We catch a glimpse of Sophia’s childhood as she grows up, fueled by loss and hungry for adventure. This chapter teaches you the basics of combat and sets the stage for what’s to come.

Sophia’s Childhood
After the opening cutscene, you’ll watch a ship reaching the dock. Sophia thinks her dad has arrived. Make your way toward the dock.
The path is straightforward. Continue moving through the slum, and when you wiggle through a crowd, you’ll meet Ezra.
This will trigger a small tutorial section where you have to attack Ezra.
Once the section ends, start sprinting along the path toward the Pit.
You’ll reach a locked door. Turn right and climb in through the window.
Loop around the bridge, and you’ll spot another window you can climb through.
As you enter the hut, Ezra will come through the door and grab you.
After the cutscene, crouch through the opening and continue heading to the Pit.
Keep moving forward and crouch through another hole to enter the Pit. Head to the center to trigger another cutscene.
After the news of her father’s death and an unsettling vision right after, Sophia wakes up in Faro’s Cabin. Get up from the bed.
Talk to Faro in the next room. You can explore the room and interact with the different objects.
When you’re ready, interact with the bed to go back to sleep. Your training starts the next day.
Training Day
The next day, Sophia’s training begins as promised. Faro will teach her the basics of combat.
You’ll learn how to block and attack. Along the way, Sophia grows up.
The next segment will have you learning how to parry enemy attacks. Follow the instructions, then use everything you’ve learned to defeat your opponent. A cutscene will trigger once you complete this section.
Find the Island Key
Irene takes you with her to find the Island Key. After the cutscene, follow the path forward.
You’ll spot a couple of bodies up ahead. Loot them. Eventually, Sophia hears a sound coming from a distance. Yvan will grab the ladder and create a path for you. Follow after him.
Once you arrive at the courtyard, head toward the door on the left.
When you try to open it, you’ll get ambushed by some bandits. Fight them off.
After taking down the final bandit, a cutscene will trigger.
The game will transition into another training, this time with Irene. Follow the instructions to learn about parrying Yellow Attacks and Critical Strikes.
After this section, you’ll get into another cutscene as Isabel lets you know that the expedition is back. Sophia will eavesdrop on Irene and Faro talking about the Island.
Later, Sophia will also speak with Faro in his cabin.
Fight The Mercenary
Sophia will be back at the pit with Leni, watching a Mercenary fighting in the arena.
After the cutscene, Sophia steps up to take him down.
The fight is split into two sections, but both parts are pretty straightforward. In the first section, you’ll be fighting the Mercenary one-on-one. Take him down using everything you’ve learnt so far.
Afterward, the Mercenary will bring his buddies to the battle. Take them all down.
A cutscene triggers after the fight as Faro calls for a meeting in the main deck. This is where the chapter ends.
