Part 1: A Friendly Place

Section 8 (Getting the Eyepatch)

To get the eyepatch from the display case, though, you’re going to have to take care of the bird that serves as an alarm system at the museum. Of course, parrots are well-known for their love of crackers.

As it turns out, the locksmith has a plate of crackers, but she’s not willing to part with them.

To get them, we first go to the Museum, where you can enter the store room in the back of the place. Here, take the cracker mix on the shelf to the left and get back to the locksmith.

Offer her the cracker mix and take the crackers from the plate that’s located just below her parrot.

You can now head on over to the museum and give the crackers to the parrot. With the parrot busy, use the display case key on the display case, and grab the eyepatch. Thankfully, Guybrush has the sense to leave the scene of the crime by himself, so you don’t need to do anything there.

With the eyepatch in your possession, you can now try fooling the Quartermaster by first putting it on and then talking to her. That doesn’t quite work as the eyepatch doesn’t have the requisite voodoo, so head on over to the International House of Mojo.

Give the Voodoo Lady the eyepatch you stole. In Casual Mode, the Voodoo Lady will charge it up right away.

If you’re playing in Hard Mode, however, you will first be asked to find a particular magic charm – the ‘Bite of a Thousand Needles’. This is really just the carnivorous plant that you previously encountered in the deep dark forest. Enter the forest and use your knife on the carnivorous plant to take a sample of it. Return to the Voodoo Lady at the International House of Mojo with your carnivorous plant and hand it over to her.

Once the eyepatch is charged up and provided you have your mop ready, you can set sail on LeChuck’s ship.

Go to the docks, put on your eyepatch and talk to the Quartermaster. Then, show her your mop.
