Part 2: A Dangerous Journey

Section 1 (Exiting the Hold)

Our first order of business in Part 2 is to get out of the hold. The porthole is screwed shut, however, and you can’t take the ladder up to the lower deck for obvious reasons.

First, use the knife on the screws that have the porthole locked shut. Guybrush will remark that the screws are on really tight.

You’d might as well get to work, so pick up the mop and swab up the grease at the base of the ladder. You can swab it up as much as you like, but Guybrush will always ‘miss a spot’. Luckily, the grease is exactly what you need to loosen up the screws.

Swab the three screws around the porthole with your greasy mop and then use your knife on the screws to undo them. Once all three screws are greased and unscrewed, the porthole will pop out.

Unfortunately, Guybrush can’t squeeze through just yet because of how tight a fit it is. You know what means – grab the mop and swab the grease again. Then, grease the porthole by swabbing it while your mop is greased. Do this three times (swabbing the grease and then the porthole), so that the porthole is greased up really well.

Then, squeeze through the porthole to finally get out of the hold (without permission!).
