Röki Walkthrough – Chapter 2 (Part 6 – Church, Bear Puzzles, Torch)

Stuck in Röki? This walkthrough will guide you through exploring the church, solving the Bear Puzzles, and making a torch.

Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Röki. As Röki is mostly an open-ended puzzle adventure game, this guide is written in a question-and-answer format, so that you can focus on each problem individually.

Chapter 2 (Contd.)

How do I find the way to the Bear Guardian?

Go to the church and then to the back. Climb the ladder, and then the next ladder, to get on top of the bell (this is where you found one of the flowers for the Sleepy Tea recipe). Use your dagger on the rope that’s holding the bell so as to make the bell collapse.

Get downstairs and you’ll find a hole in the floor. In the basement, go near the bear statue to find that you need four stone blocks before you can proceed. You also need to figure out which order to place them in, which is the first Bear Puzzle. For this, you need to consult the hint of the crescent moon.

Röki walkthrough

Where do I find the stone blocks for the first Bear Puzzle?

Two of the stone blocks can already be found on the slots under the statue, so pick them up.

To find the third block, run left from the bear statue into the next room. Here, at the end of the room, you’ll find a large mess of spiderwebs. Use your dagger on the spiderwebs. Grab the stone block that was formerly behind the spiderwebs.

The fourth block can be found in the Nokken’s cave. You can grab it either when you are a captive of the Nokken, or later, when you have liberated the Nokken and manipulated the water. If you have liberated the Nokken and retrieved the Wolf Staff already, you can re-access the Nokken’s cave via the doorway in Trollhilde’s cave.

The stone block can be found on two other small blocks, next to the wooden wardrobe. It will have 6 notches on it.

What order should I place the stone blocks in?

The clue given underneath the bear statue is of a crescent moon. The only other place you can find a crescent moon in the church is on a stone memorial on the floor of the main church room.

The memorial will have a name and a year: the year is the clue you need.

Enter the blocks in the order: 1-6-2-3, from left-to-right, to access the way forward.

Where do I find the stone disks for the second Bear Puzzle?

The Bear Puzzle requires you to complete a constellation again. The tricky part is that the stone disks you need have all been scattered across the forest, and you need to track them down and find them (if you haven’t done so already).

One stone disk is already in a slot, so pick it up right there.

The second stone disk can be found in the church basement. Go right from fallen bell, so that you enter another crypt (like the one where you found the ‘1’ stone block). Here, you’ll find the disk in the far right of the room.

The third stone disk can be found in the smaller vault to the right of the church. The disk is half-buried, so you will need a trowel to dig it up.

The trowel can be found in the cave in the Poisoned Forest. This is the same cave where you found the Glass Jar while completing Fossegrim’s quest. The trowel is found in a drawer to the bottom-right of the screen when you’re in the cave.

The fourth stone disk can be found in a cave that you reach by climbing some rocks, near Fossegrim’s cave in the cliffs that lead to the Wolf Guardian.

However, the cave is dark, so you will first need to construct a torch. Check the question below to find out how to make the torch.

Once your Torch is ready, go to the snowy cliff and climb the rocks to the right of the icy hands. Use the torch on the cave, and then pick up the stone disk.

How do I make the Torch?

To create the torch, you need three items: a bone, a rag of cloth, and matches. You should already have the matches from the watermill.

To find the bone, go to the cave to the right of the Nokken’s pond. This is the cave where you manipulated the water and gained access to the Nokken’s lair with your enchanted flute (if you have done that quest already).

For the rag of cloth, go to the Yule Cat’s burrow. You may have already found it if you did Fossegrim’s quest before. It can be found in a small clearing between Trollhulde’s cave and the spiky pit. Inside the cave, pick up the rags on the very first screen you encounter.

Combine the rags with the bone, and then use the matches on them to create a torch.

How do I solve the second Bear Puzzle?

Once you have all four disks, return to the Bear Puzzle and place the disks in the correct order.

The leftmost disk is the darker disk that you dug out in the vault.

The second-to-left disk has a pattern like this: -O-O<

The second-to-right disk has a pattern like this: >0-0<

The rightmost disk has only one gem in it.

Once you place them correctly, you will gain access to the Bear Guardian.
