Acquiring Materials

Start off your journey by collecting flint first. Pick up the small black rocks and throw them at the larger stones to get flint in the game. Keep throwing until you get the required amount of flint.

The next resource that you need to collect is woody sticks. You can pick up and throw stones at trees to get sticks. Additionally, you can also damage small shrubs to achieve the same result. Collect this resource to move on to the next objective.
Weapons And Tools

Open up your inventory to craft the required weapons and tools. Click on the flint pickaxe and the flint axe, and craft these tools using the resources that you just collected. Next, equip these tools on your character inside the same inventory menu.
Obtain Wood Planks

You’ll obtain planks from the larger trees by cutting them down using your newly crafted axe. Once the wood log splits into pieces, pick up a piece and place it on the stump of the tree that you just cut down. Then use your axe again on the log to obtain wood planks from it.
The Workbench

Open up your inventory and craft a workbench. Place a workbench in a clear area on the map where you want to start building your town.

Interact with the bench once it is constructed to start building a town core. Place the foundation of the town core, and then throw a stone and a piece of log inside to start building it. Interact with the town core as well once it is completed.

Next, interact with the workbench to build an altar. Place the foundation of the altar and throw three stones inside to finish its construction. Finally, interact with the altar as well.
Populating Your Town

Use the workbench to lay the foundation for a Leatherworker building. Bring five stones and five pieces of wood logs to the foundation to build this industrial site where people can work.

You’ll need to build a food storage next, so use the workbench one more time to lay down its foundation. Place four wooden logs inside the foundation to finish the process of construction. Finally, interact with the food storage to complete this objective.

Your next goal is to find a citizen and interact with them. Explore the area around your town, and you will quickly run into an NPC whom you can recruit for your town, so speak with them to finish the tutorial in Romestead.
This concludes our walkthrough of the initial tutorial section of Romestead, which introduces the basic town-building mechanics of the game.
