Rosewater Demo Walkthrough
On gaining control of Harley, go left past the sheriff’s office. Continue left past the physician, and then enter the Rosewater Post & Publishing building.
After dealing with the man who falls through the window (any way you wish), you’ll enter the Rosewater Post building.
When the receptionist asks you for the commission letter, open your inventory, select the letter, and give it to the receptionist.
Go up the stairs to meat Joannie. After you’re done talking to her, exit through the door and then exit the building.
Go left from the Rosewater Post building and after the conversation that takes place here, enter the Jack of Diamonds Saloon.
Attempt to go up the stairs, and you’ll be stopped by Jake Ackerman’s assistant, who will advise you to watch Jake’s show.
Exit the saloon and go down the street to the faraway building (Rosewater Opera House).
Here, talk to the town greeter, who has a new ‘legitimate’ job selling tickets for Jake’s show.
After you’re done conversing with him, exit the screen and return all the way back to the screen where the Physician’s clinic is.
Examine the padlock on the Blacksmith’s smithy if you wish. Then, enter the physician’s clinic.
Go to the far left of the screen and pick up the leather bag sitting on the cabinet to the left of the washing bowl.
Exit the clinic and go right to find the Sheriff’s office. Enter the Sheriff’s office.
Here, go to the far right of the screen and ask the sheriff about one of the framed photographs.
While the sheriff goes on about the photograph, select the leather bag from your inventory and use it on the leather bag on the sheriff’s desk.
Once you’ve made the swap, you’ll have a bag full of lockpicks.
Exit the sheriff’s office now and return to the blacksmith. Make sure there’s no one else walking in the scene, and then use the bag of lockpicks from your inventory on the padlock.
Here, you’ll need to make use of a rhyme that’s in your journal. As you’re dealing with the padlock, you need to use the second rhyme.
You have to first wiggle the key, and then use the snake pick for a ‘Long Long Run’, which is code for ‘Left Left Right’.
Examine each of the picks to get a sense of what’s what, and then use your tension key on the lock. Next, use the snake pick on the lock.
Start wiggling the tension key, and then move the snake pick left, left, and then right. Note that this has to be done while the wiggling is happening.
Once the padlock is open, you’ll enter the smithy. Search the various hiding places here to find the pocket watch (the location seems to be randomized).
Now return to the ticket seller at the Opera House and give him the pocket watch from your inventory.
This starts the show. After the show is over, head on over to the Jack of Diamonds saloon to start your interview.
Ask any questions you like, but after a few questions, the interview will be over as Jake remembers another commitment.
Head on out, and after a sequence that follows, you’ll find yourself in the middle of a brawl.
Notice the bottle on the table nearest to you. Attempt to take it, and the third brawler will move toward you. Press the dumbwaiter button now to knock him out.
If he moves back to the door, try to take the bottle again to have him move next to the dumbwaiter.
Now pick up the bottle and use it on the brawler who’s fighting Danny Luo near the stairs.
With both brawlers on the ground floor knocked out, the fight will conclude in your favor, and a conversation with Jake and Danny will follow.
Following the conversation, the demo will conclude.
