Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Acolyte’s Haven in Saros.
The fight with Architect in Desecrated Fortress was devastating, and now back at The Passage, Arjun finds his wife, Nitya. However, their reconciliation doesn’t go as planned since she destroys the portal to Earth and leaves Arjun unconscious.
With this twist, the story further envelops itself in mystery. This walkthrough will cover the Acolyte’s Haven area in Saros completely.

Alone In The Passage

After Arjun regains consciousness, don’t talk to Primary, as he is momentarily inactive. Instead, turn around and follow the objective’s marker to a newly opened path in The Passage.
There, you will find Constant, an ancient alien intelligence that tells Arjun about Nitya’s whereabouts and a sunless world. Return to Primary to terminate the security lockdown. With no one else left, it’s time to head to Blighted Marsh’s black dam first.

Use the elevator ahead to enter Acolyte’s Haven, the game’s sixth Biome, to find Nitya.
Follow Nitya – Reach The Beacon

As you enter Acolyte’s Haven, the first objective is to find a Beacon to retrieve Nitya’s information. This Haven is located on a dam’s lower area, which includes numerous bottomless pits that pose a threat during traversal. Additionally, to cross some of the gaps, shoot the drones to raise them, then use your grapple hook.

Progress through the biome, and it will progressively get harder. Numerous laser traps will block your way, and you must move through delicately, and look out for new enemies that pose a challenge harder than ever.

After defeating a handful of enemies and traversing Acolyte’s Haven, you will find a new weapon: Ripsaw Chakra. It’s a unique weapon that deals continuous damage to enemies, and by holding L2, the saw discs will hastily attack the enemies as you hold R2.

“Reach The Beacon” remains the objective for most of this biome. See the giant statue afar? That’s your location. So, continue moving forward, kill all enemies, and then traverse through the haven.
Activate The Beacon / Return To Wharf

After you reach the giant statue’s entrance, head inside and use the elevator to reach its top. Move forward into the arena to activate the beacon, and then a teleporter will lead you to the next area.
Aboard the Echelon II Vessel

In the next area, follow the path ahead. Collect any item you see nearby, then move forward to meet the biome’s boss: Shepherd.
Shepherd Boss Fight

Shepherd is a giant with numerous tentacles. Before the boss itself arrives at the fight, its initial phase begins with the tentacles, which try to corner you and throw blue bullets. Individually, the tentacles will slam the arena and shoot corruption bullets along with multiple shockwaves. You can easily avoid them by jumping.
To summon the boss, destroy all the tentacles attacking you.
First Phase

Once the tentacles are gone, Shepherd will reveal itself from the ocean’s depth, a tall figure that surrounds all four corners of the arena. While the boss has individual attacks, they are all incorporated with the tentacle attack patterns that you fought in the initial phase.

Shepherd’s attacks are rather easy to dodge, and it only relies on bullets; no physical hits. However, the pattern is randomized and can be a bit tricky to understand. Just keep moving, and avoid the bullets. If multiple Nova projectiles block the path, parry them to create an opening.
Second Phase

Once the first health bar depletes, Shepherd will go underwater to switch its position to the other corner. The majority of the attacks remain the same, but the bullets are far more aggressive. Additionally, both ends (left and right) are covered by its tentacles, throwing corruption bullets and Nova projectiles. To avoid the projectiles, jump over them.
Once Shepherd reveals its face, it can shoot bullets out of its mouth. From the chest, it charges a beam of corruption bullets that follow you for five seconds, so move around and dodge through them. If you see numerous red balls in the sky, move left and right while simultaneously dodging to avoid multiple barrages of Nova projectiles.
Third Phase

In the third phase, Shepherd incorporates all of its attacks to create a bullet-hell environment. However, it can now raise its left arm and shoot a massive combination of Nova projectiles and blue bullets three times. The best way to avoid it is to stand in its middle and absorb all the blue bullets while avoiding the Nova projectiles.

When it dies, it falls into the ocean, and Arjun loses his balance. He falls and later washes up at a shore outside a massive cathedral, which serves as the seventh biome of Saros.
Enemies of Acolyte’s Haven – Dynast

Dynast is a slender enemy with numerous hands that shoot out corrupted bullets, and leaves a vortex of blue bullets that can be either dodged or easily absorbed with your shield.
Prime Hollower

As the name suggests, Prime Hollower is a stronger version of Hollower that has an additional cannon attack that follows you wherever you go. If you see a faded laser targeting your body, instantly dash away to avoid being hit by the cannon.
Prime Devastator

Similar to the Prime Hollower, Prime Devastator is a stronger version of Devastator that comes with a bombing functionality, which allows it to drop projectile bombs that later explode into numerous bullets at once. Additionally, it’s extremely fast and requires utmost precision to be defeated.
