Saros: Blighted Marsh Walkthrough

Saros Blighted Marsh

Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for the Blighted Marsh in Saros.

Arjun continues his journey to find Nitya on Carcosa, and it would be a disservice to say it has been easy for him. With Rhabdom defeated and traversing through Shattered Descent, we now enter the fourth biome in Saros: Blighted Marsh.

This walkthrough covers Saros’ Blighted Marsh area, all of its unique enemies, and the biome’s boss fight.

Raise Bridge To The City – Explore Blighted Marsh

Saros Blighted Marsh
Exploring Blighted Marsh.

After defeating Rhabdom, continue moving along the path ahead to enter the Carcosan city. But to get inside, you’ll need to raise the bridge in Blighted Marsh. Before exploring the new biome, teleport back to The Passage with the teleporter to your left, and buy useful upgrades from Primary.

Return to the Blighted Marsh and make your way through the biome to find the bridge. While there are new enemies to fight, you will also notice colorful plants in the vicinity. Don’t get too close, as they will blow up and release bullets all around their radius. Either shoot or punch them before they explode. The green exploding plank will drop an aether that you can use to replenish your armor’s integrity.

Fighting Against Promise, The Blighted Marsh Enemy.
Note: All runs after this point will be randomized. Enemy placements and pathways will vary. This walkthrough will cover all the crucial information required to finish this biome, including its boss.

As you explore Blighted Marsh, you will find the fourth Soltari weapon: Repeater Crossbow.

It’s a chargeable weapon that can shoot multiple bolts at once (if fully charged) and fires a single bolt if R2 is pressed repeatedly. All the bolts deal normal damage and DOT (Damage Over Time) simultaneously.

Speak With Alab

As you traverse Blighted Marsh, your suit will sense another Soltari personnel nearby. Talk to Abel, and then the next objective will begin.

Power Up The Carcosan Device

Saros Blighted Marsh
Illuminated Generator.

Follow the objective marker on the map to help Alab with a Carcosan Device that they need to complete their project. And from this point, an enemy extremely identical to Rhabdom, called Lyssa, becomes a normal occurrence throughout the game, but it won’t be as strong as its boss fight variant. It has lower health, fewer attacks, and lower speed, which gives you an overall advantage against it.

Saros Blighted Marsh
The Eclipse Over Carcosa.

This objective will lead you to a massive tower filled with lasers that you must dodge through to avoid further damage. The entrance is behind it; use the lift to reach the top floor. After getting the illuminated generator, use the teleporter before you to return to Alab, then talk to them.

Activate the Carcosan Device nearby, and then wait for the bridge to rise up. With this, you will unlock the parry mechanic, which only works on the Nova projectiles; red bullets with a glowing star in the middle. Wait for the bullets to approach, and then press R1 to parry them.

Saros Blighted Marsh
The Second Illuminated Generator.

Up ahead awaits the Eclipse hand. Interact with it to initiate the Eclipse once more, and continue moving forward through the marsh. Additionally, you will find numerous poison swamps that deal damage if you stay still in them.

Find Illuminated Generators For The Elevator

Saros Blighted Marsh
The Intersection Before The Boss Fight.

After reaching a massive intersection, you will have to find two generators to make the elevator work there. One side can be explored without initiating the Eclipse, but the other requires it. Similar to the tower you climbed for Alab, both objectives are there with teleporters.

With both generators found, return to the intersection and activate the elevator. From here, you will reach the Blighted Marsh’s boss: Legion.

Legion Boss Fight

Saros Blighted Marsh
Fighting With Legion.

Legion is an aerial boss who is constantly on the move and is shielded by other enemies of its kind. To identify Legion, look for the one that is glowing and is always leading the group.

Damaging other enemies won’t hurt Legion, so make sure to aim at the boss itself. Although it has three phases, it isn’t really that aggressive, but it relies on Nova projectiles and the enemies that protect it. All of its phases are identical with minor differences.

Saros Blighted Marsh
Legion And Minions Circling To Shoot Nova Projectiles.

The key to defeating Legion is to focus on the boss and avoid all the Nova projectiles; don’t parry them. If Legion’s minions circle you on the floor, wait for them to shoot the projectiles and jump over them five times.

In the second phase, Legion and its minions will create a barrier and simultaneously shoot Nova projectiles at Arjun. To counter them, keep as much distance as you can from the boss, and don’t try to parry them.

Legion Using Its Attacks.

Focus on the glowing enemy, move around the arena while keeping a distance from the boss, and lastly, avoid parrying its projectiles as it won’t help you during the fight.

Legion, Defeated.

Once defeated, traverse the industrial infrastructure ahead and pick up the missing bridge circuit. Return to The Passage, and unfortunately, Sheridan is consumed by the Carcosan’s madness. Arjun will put an end to her misery and talk to Kayla to fix the key.

Enemies of Blighted Marsh – Confessor

Confessor.

Confessor is a headless creature with numerous arms. It’s fast and leaves behind a trail of blue bullets. The best way to counter it is to keep your distance and then shoot.

Promise

Promise.

Flying upside down, Promise throws blue and yellow bullets. Absorb the blue bullets and avoid the yellow bullets, then shoot at it.

Lyssa

Lyssa.

Lyssa looks identical to Rhabdom, and the only difference between these two is the fact that Lyssa throws blue bullets from its mouth while Rhabdom throws corruption bullets.

Primal Osteomaw

Primal Osteomaw.

A deadlier version of Osteomaws, Primal Osteomaws are deadly at close range and lunge at you with their red claws. If they slam the ground, numerous yellow shockwaves will appear.

Primal Eclosion

Primal Eclosion.

Similar to Primal Osteomaws, Primal Eclosions are a deadly version of Eclosions and can drop multiple pods that throw Nova projectiles at you. See a pod? Destroy it immediately and then hunt down the enemy.
