Selfloss Walkthrough – Chapter 3 – The Whale

As you exit the mermaid area you will be thrust into the open seas. Activate the switch that lies straight ahead.

Follow the lightning shooting from the statue on top. This will lead you to another switch/statue. Activate the switch here and follow the next lightning bolt. At the next statue activate the seal and follow the light shooting from the statue. Follow the lightning beam till you see a lantern on the waves. Follow this path to exit the seas. You will be swept away by tidal waves and giant whale a few times – but keep exploring till you find the path.

Wade through the dream and finally you will wake up on a beach. After a while speak to the Giant and exit the cove. Get on the boat and ride past the two statues and speak to the white tall character near a dead whale. Keep going past the locked gate and dock. Climb up the vines and you will find a whale that has been tied down. Walk to its left and unlock the gate.

Get back on your boat and go through the gate. Ride your boat through the narrow opening at the top. You will eventually meet up with the white tall character. In the next area, clear the miasma at the end but be quick about it as the water itself is poisoned.

After this, clear the next bit of miasma and activate the node. Then head south and crash through the barrier and activate the next node. Now sail through the opening and dock at the island. Move to the left, across the pier with the hanging fish carcass and go inside. You will find a scroll. There is a healing herb on the other side. Go back out and head up the stairs. Kill the miasma enemy on the other side.

Head southwards, across the pier and kill the miasma enemies. Head to the back and jump over the gaps and cross the planks – avoiding the tentacles. Move the hanging crates around with your staff.

Once you go around, go through the opening. Go across the cliff face and up the stairs to find the baby whale in a cage. Move left from the baby whale and kill the enemies there. Next, activate the totem pole. Cross the light bridge for healing herbs. Go back up and climb up the vines. Climb up the stairs and move to the right and climb down the vines.

Go around and you can pick up a scroll after clearing the crystals. Next, climb up the vines and clear the crystals blocking the gears. Climb back up the vines to the puzzle area. Step on the switches, to bring up the rotating switches and activate them in order.

Now drop your staff and keep shining your light on the totem pole to keep the platform activated.

Cross over to the other side and pick up the key. Drop down the vines and go through the portal and unlock the cage. Now lead the baby whale to the gate down south. Go through and lead the baby whale to the next gate. Keep going till you reach the third gate and kill the enemies that jump you.

Walk up to the ramp and activate the switch to open the gate. Go back to the baby whale and lead it to the next gate. Kill the enemy on the other side. Now go out the door on the left, go up the ladder on the other side. Kill the enemy on top and activate the node. Go down the ladder and lead the baby whale through the gate you just opened. Place the baby whale on the platform and cross over the plank around the houses at the end.

Clear the miasma and the creature behind the house. Activate both nodes to open the path to the switch. This should move the baby whale to the other side.

Again, lead the baby whale to the gate and go through. Next, clear the nodes to open the gate.

Now lead the whale into the central area for a boss fight, Koschei. Go around the area and kill the green smoky trees. Hide behind the stones when the boss attacks.

Once he is gone, lead the whale to the next gate. Activate the node, and then activate the totem to create a light bridge. Cross over with the baby whale. Go into the tower on the left for a scroll. Next bring the baby whale to its mother. Step into the Whale’s mouth and you will be transported to a new area. Cross the muck and up the stairs. Go through the spider web and into the cave. Follow the path and start running away from the boss.

Keep going till you reach a node and light it up. Run to the boat for the boss to go away. Pick up the scroll and start sailing. The boss will start chasing you again. Charge through the webs that the boss puts up. Fall off the waterfall and you will end up on a ship with the giants. Trudge through this dream and you will wake up on an island with a witch. Go into the witch’s hut and pick up the three dolls.
