Move forward to the Frozen Path where you’ll meet Barr. He’ll tell you about a Crystal Cave to the east.

After this, you’ll see the path split off. You can see Neven sitting at a Campsite to the north. But first, head toward the Commotion to your south.

You’ll see two men fighting each other. When you get the skill check, choose Slash. This will let you join Orson’s Club.

You can now complete two of Orson’s Challenges by fighting two groups of monsters; the first group only as Thade, and the second group only as Ayla.

Doing so will complete the We Regenerate questline and add the Memory of a Patient to your inventory.

Finding the Blacksmith (Shining Lights, Even in Brightness)

Once you’re done with Orson’s Tournament, head over to the Campsite and speak with Neven. Run through her dialogue to gain a Crystallized Chunk.

shard of order walkthrough

Go east from the Campsite to face the first group of enemies in the region.

shard of order walkthrough

The enemies in this area can trap and forcibly cause your characters to move around the field. Take out the enemies.

shard of order walkthrough

There will be another encounter at the Fork in the Road up ahead.

shard of order walkthrough

Once you take down the monster, you’ll see a path to the north that leads to the Frozen Wall.

shard of order walkthrough

Inspect the wall to find a person frozen in ice and add the Shining Lights, Even in Darkness questline to your Journal.

Go to the Fish Hut east of the Fork in the Road to find the Blacksmith. Talking to him will unlock an additional Memory Slot for all characters.

Run through his dialogue. He’ll ask you to get him a Crystal from the Crystal Cave to the east. In return, he will get rid of the ice blocking your path in the Frozen Wall. This will update the Shining Lights, Even in Darkness questline.

Reaching the Crystal Caves (Shining Lights, Even in Brightness)

shard of order walkthrough

Head to the Sunken Path past the Fish Hut to fight three more monsters. Defeating the enemies will activate a Checkpoint.

shard of order walkthrough

You’ll meet the Foreman, Tilda, up ahead. Talk to her and run through the dialogue. You’ll learn that her brother Galt has disappeared. She wants you to find him. This will trigger the start of the Two Siblings, One Problem questline.

shard of order walkthrough

Move toward the Cave to find two Miners standing at the entrance. They will refuse to let you enter at first. But then they agree to let you go inside if you take care of the Monster Whale inside for them. This updates the Shining Lights, Even in Darkness questline.

shard of order walkthrough

When you’re ready, head inside the Ice Cavern.

Inside the Ice Cavern (Shining Lights, Even in Brightness)

shard of order walkthrough

As you move across the pathway in the Ice Cavern, you’ll pick up two Linnaeus’ Journal pieces. The first journal mentions how the Crystals regrow as long as there’s at least one left. The second journal tells you how to charm the Monster Whale. This will be important for the fight coming up soon.

shard of order walkthrough

When you reach the Flooded Area at the end of the mine, you’ll end up with two options:

  • Attack the Monster Whale
  • Mine the Crystal

If you choose to Mine the Crystal, the Miners at the Entrance become angry. They won’t attack you or anything, but it still feels like a bad choice when you read Linnaeus’ Journal #1. So we decided to attack the Monster Whale.

This will trigger a fight with the Whale that the Miners were talking about.

How to Beat the Whale in Ice Caverns

shard of order walkthrough

The fight against the Monster Whale is more of a puzzle than an actual fight. When the fight begins, note the number of words that the Whale says. For example, in the image above, it says Whooo-Wheee-Whooo, which counts as three words.

shard of order walkthrough

All you have to do is play cards that add up to 3 Time Cost and press Redraw. The Whale will not attack you.

shard of order walkthrough

Keep repeating this, and the fight will end soon enough. When the fight ends, the Ice Cavern will collapse as you make it out. Run through the dialogue with Jeb.

The Giant Frozen Lake (Two Siblings, One Problem)

shard of order walkthrough

With the Monster Whale defeated, go back to the Frozen Wall. Interact with it. Jeb will move you out of the way and smash the wall to pieces, opening the way forward. You’ll also get the Tide Armor for Ayla after this.

shard of order walkthrough

This will also activate a Checkpoint. Speak to the nearby Anglers and ask them about Galt. Then ask to Fish and use the relevant skill check Card to gain items.

shard of order walkthrough

When you’re ready, head toward the Lighthouse. Inspect the Lighthouse to find Galt’s Journal updating the Two Siblings, One Problem questline.

shard of order walkthrough

Head toward The Giant Frozen Lake next and choose the Traverse the Lake option.

This will trigger a fight. Around halfway through the fight, you’ll drop into a Crevice below the lake. Defeat the enemy to earn a Crystallized Chunk.

Escaping the Crevice (Bad Blood)

Run through the dialogue with your party members. There’s a Fog Gate right above you, but you need a Glass Shard to cut through it.

There are two Glass Shards in the area to find. One is past the enemy on the right, and the other can be reached after defeating the enemies to the north.

Go east first and take out the enemies in the Corridor. This will give you the Memory of a Horse.

Pick up the Glass Shard near the Cave In. Try using the Glass Shard to open the Fog Gate. It doesn’t work.

Go and fight the enemies in the southern Corridor. You’ll find the Unyielding Relic Armor for Lev after defeating them.

Pick up the Glass Shard near the Cave In past the enemies.

Go back to the Fog Door and use it to cut through the fog. Move to the Corridor up ahead and interact with the Ice.

You’ll find Iago trapped inside the ice. He only has 1 HP but has 80 Shield. If you’ve got a Rot card, use it to damage him through the Shield.

Run through the dialogue afterward, and Iago will run away, updating the Bad Blood questline.

Keep moving forward, and you’ll soon reach the Exit.

Finding Galt (Two Siblings, One Problem)

Once you make it out of the cave, head to the Scholar’s Study. This is Thade’s home. Inspect everything inside to find a Staff and Lisandre’s Song #1. Thade mentions you’ll find the second part of the song in the eastern part of the town.

Head down to the Frozen Street and take out the enemies in the area.

There’s another group of enemies waiting for you up ahead. Take them down to activate a Checkpoint.

Move forward to the Fork in the Road. Ayla points out the Mausoleum to the southeast.

From here, move toward the Whale Remains first. This will let you go to the Collapsed Belltower to the north. Interact with it.

Run through the dialogue to find and rescue Galt, and update the Two Siblings, One Problem questline. He’ll also give you the Memory of a Guardian.

Finding Lisandre’s Song #2 (Shining Lights, Even in Darkness)

Head to the Snowfield to fight off another group of enemies.

Proceed through the Snowfield after the encounter, and you’ll spot the entrance to Serath’s Study up ahead. Go inside. As you go inside, you’ll face Lucian.

How to Beat Lucian, Blade of the Moon

Lucian was the commander of Serath’s Royal Guard and guards the entrance of Serath’s Study. Despite having only 210 Hitpoints, the fight against him isn’t easy because of his Ethereal Body.

That means you can’t directly attack and damage the boss. However, attacking the boss causes him to summon a Crystal with its own attacks. Breaking the Crystal is the only way to deal direct damage to the boss.

Once the Crystal breaks, he will summon another one as long as you attack him one time. Keep breaking the Crystals until Lucian‘s HP drops to zero.

This will trigger phase 2 of the fight as Lucian gains back 200 HP and sheds his Ethereal Body. Now you can attack him directly. However, he will constantly Freeze your cards during the fight, forcing you to waste Time and Redraw.

After defeating the boss, inspect all the areas in Serath’s Study. You’ll find:

  • 1 Crystallized Slab
  • Freezing Edge (Warrior’s Weapon)
  • Lisandre’s Song #2

Doing so will update the Shining Lights, Even in Darkness questline.

Reaching the Mausoleum

Make your way back to the last Fork in the Road and move to the Pier in the South. Talk to the Ferryman at the location.

Select the Sing Lisandre’s Song option to pass the cross the lake and gain the Memory of a Bard.

You’ll have to fight some enemies as you cross the lake. Take them down to find the Envy weapon for Ayla.

Walk up to the Obelisk. The path to the east leads to a Dead End. There’s a unique enemy here you can fight if you want, but it doesn’t give anything else.

When you’re ready, travel west to reach the entrance of The Mausoleum. Head inside.

Navigating the Mausoleum

Once inside The Mausoleum, move forward, and you’ll see a Painting to the side.

Walk up to the Painting and read the description.

Return to the main path and go forward to the Corridor. You’ll spot an Altar up ahead. Go up to the Altar and interact with it to trigger a fight against Serath, Mourner of Eclipse.

How to Beat Serath, Mourner of Eclipse

The fight against Serath follows a similar pattern to the fight that you had against Lucian. At the start of the battle, you can attack Serath directly.

However, after 1 Time, he will summon two weapons to his hands, rendering her untargetable. To damage the boss, you need to break the weapons in her hands. Thankfully, if you break the weapons, she also can’t attack you with them. Focus on taking out one weapon before it has the chance to attack.

Once her health drops to around half, Serath will summon two floating masks. These units will apply buffs and debuffs while the weapons will attack you on their turn. Focus on the Weapons and keep breaking them to damage Serath.

When Serath has only around 150 health remaining, you’ll see a shadow of light appear above the boss. This is the final phase. You can now attack Serath directly to take down her remaining health pool and win the fight. Completing the battle gives you Serath’s Misery weapon for Thade and triggers a cutscene.

Two Siblings, One Problem Quest Ending

After the cutscene, you’ll have a conversation with your party members. Run through the dialogue, and they will eventually exit The Mausoleum.

Once outside, Thade notes that dawn has arrived, and with the Law of Light in your hand, you should head back to the Cathedral.

Before you do that, make your way back to the foreman Tilda and see if Galt has returned.

Tell Tilda about her brother and let the events run their course. Eventually you’ll have the option to Intervene or Let the Events Unfold. We decided to Intervene, which caused Galt to disarm and kill Tilda. This will end the. Two Siblings, One Problem questline, and you’ll get a Crystallized Chunk as a reward.

With that done, exit the zone and make your way back to The Cathedral of Order. Go to the Altar and interact with it. You’ll learn that the Law of Time isn’t complete, and you need to find the second half, for which you need to travel back to the Breathless Sands.
