Welcome to the fifth part of our walkthrough for Shards of Order.
After retrieving the Law of Light and going back to the Cathedral of Order, you learn that there’s a second half of the Law of Time that you’ve missed. To recover the missing Law, you have to go back to the Breathless Sands, where you must restore Neven’s shattered half. Only then can your journey come to an end.

Finding Lanneus (Love and Marriage)

As you return to Breathless Sands, the eastern half of the village becomes visible in the light of day. Head to the Street on your left.

You’ll find a woman sitting here. Talk to her and run through her dialogue. You’ll learn that the woman is Linnaeus. If you solved the puzzle back at Shrike’s Lair, you can give her the Shrike’s Feathers. She’ll give you a Crystallized Slab as a reward.

After talking to her, return to Shirin at the Laboratory in the northwestern part of the map. Tell her you found Linnaeus, and she’ll tell you that Linnaeus dropped by, then went off on another adventure.
Finding the Sun Stone (Leave no Stones)

Return to the Street and head to the Obelisk up ahead. Take down the monsters in the area.

The monsters in Breathless Sands this time around will also inflict Blight, which can deal a lot of damage. So be careful while fighting.

Inspect the Obelisk after the fight to retrieve the Sun Stone, completing the Leave no Stones questline.
Javan’s Laboratory (Love and Marriage)

From the Obelisk, move to the Street to the north and defeat the enemies.

This will activate a Checkpoint. You’ll see a Laboratory just up ahead. Move to the Laboratory and inspect it.

Click on all the items inside, then select Leave. As you’re about to leave, you get attacked by Javan and are pulled into a boss fight.
How to Beat Javan

The fight against Javan is pretty straightforward. He has only 280 Hitpoints, which isn’t much. But the only trouble in this fight is that he’ll constantly summon minions.

Javan can also buff himself with Inverted, which causes the damage you deal to heal him instead. Make sure you don’t attack him when he’s buffed and focus on the minions instead. Healing enemies should be your priority.

Other than that, the fight isn’t too difficult. Sure, he can inflict Blight. But by now you should be able to deal enough damage to bring his health down before the fight drags on too much. Defeating the boss gives you the Tibia weapon for Thade.
Rescuing Javan (Love and Marriage)

After defeating Javan, Lanneus comes into the Laboratory and tells you of a way to save Javan using the Sundial. She also gives you a Combination.

Go back to The Magnificent Sundial and enter the combination:
Sun | Moon | Bird | Eye | Water | Hourglass

Javan will materialize before you. Run through the dialogue and decide whether you want to Spare or Execute him. We spared him and got a Crystallized Slab as a reward.

Return to Shirin’s Laboratory and speak with her about Javan. This will complete the Love and Marriage questline.
Reaching the Timeless Cavern

Head to the Fountain next to Javan’s Laboratory. The path splits up.

Take the left path first to talk to Durian at the Hiding Place. You’ll learn the fate of the Wine King and the Shrike.

From here, take out the enemy on the other side and then move up the Street to the north.

You’ll have to fight another group of enemies here.

Once they are down, you can head to the Timeless Cavern and enter.
Finding Neven’s Severed Half

A Checkpoint will activate as soon as you enter the Timeless Cavern. Moving up, you’ll spot two Portals in front of you.

It doesn’t matter which Portal you take first. We went with the left one. Defeat the enemies on the other side of the Portal.

Inspect the Painting on the wall. Then interact with the Portal to your left to return to the first room. This time, take the right Portal.

You’ll face some more enemies here guarding a second Painting.

Take them down and inspect the Painting. Doing so opens the second Portal in the room.

Use the Portal to reach a third room where you find a person chained to the wall up ahead. This will activate a Checkpoint. Walk up to The Severed to trigger a boss battle.
How to Beat the Prisoner

The Prisoner fight is also a simple one. During the first phase of the fight, the Prisoner’s hands will be bound to the wall by chains. But she can still attack you.

Keep attacking her, and when her health drops to around half, she’ll break the chains. But the fight remains essentially the same.

Keep attacking her with your high-damage moves, and she’ll go down without much trouble.

Once you defeat the boss and exit the Timeless Cavern, you’ll find Neven unconscious by the entrance. Run through her dialogue. Exit the zone when you’re done.
The Cathedral of Order Altar

Return to the Cathedral of Order and interact with the Altar at the end. Now that you’ve got all the Laws in your hand, the Inner Voice reveals itself as the Keeper of Order. When prompted, enter the gate.

This will take you to a new location where you find the Nest Dweller sitting on a rock. Talk to him.

You’ll have a Skill Check to either play with him again or refuse. We decided to let him win.

Continue up to the Campsite and talk to all the people here. They don’t offer anything and just want to bid you farewell.

Head up the Corridor. You’ll reach a stone statue. The Law of Death will awaken inside you. Run through the conversation.

Further along the Corridor, you’ll find Iago. Talk to him. He’ll ask you to execute him. We decided to grant him his wish.

Just beyond this point, you’ll reach a Portal. Interact with it to trigger the final boss fight of the game.
How to Beat Chaos Presence

The Chaos Presence is the final boss of the game and starts the fight with 600 Hitpoints during the first stage. He deals a lot of damage with his attacks and can break your shield in one blow. You’ll want to be as fast and aggressive as possible. Since you don’t have any Ethereal Powers in this fight, dragging the fight won’t play to your favor.

On top of that, the boss also summons Elites like the Fire Priest and Lucian that you’ve faced earlier. They have a lot less Hitpoints, so make sure you focus them down as soon as you can.

Just keep attacking the boss until his HP drops to zero. That’s when the second phase begins.

The second phase starts with the Chaos Presence summoning all five Laws around him. The Laws have 200 HP each, making up the entire 1000 health pool of the Chaos Presence.

For this phase, you have to attack the Laws and take them down. At a certain point of the fight, the boss will cause your cards to get Stuck, which means you can’t remove them manually apart from playing. Take down all five Laws to defeat the boss.
The Final Choice

Once the cutscene ends, you’ll reach your final decision of the game. You can either:
- Claim the Laws and create your Own Order (Bad Ending)
- Seal the Laws and restore the Order (True Ending)
Unfortunately, if you use the Ethereal Power too much, you’ll get locked into the Bad Ending, which is what happened during our playthrough. Make your choice to trigger the final cutscene and watch the credits roll.
Congratulations on finishing Shards of Order.
