Welcome to part 4 of our walkthrough for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. This walkthrough will cover the fourth stage, Neo City, and offer a guided experience through the level.

Table of contents
City Entrance
After dropping down to the City Entrance, you’ll see three paths, each marked with a signboard. Each path leads to a hostage. Rescue all three to start progressing through the stage.
Head right first. You’ll find the Shop a few steps in. Continue past it.
Jump up onto the two platforms to find a chest. Loot it to get the first Oboro Relic for this level.
Drop down and take the zipline on the right. Loot the chest inside to obtain the Bomb Ninpo.
Break the Yokai Barrier ahead using Cannon Punch and keep moving forward.
You’ll face a Ghost Samurai up ahead. Defeat it and continue along the lower level.
Keep pushing forward, climbing up through the building, and you’ll eventually reach the East Entrance Shrine.
East Entrance
Break the Yokai Barrier using Cannon Punch and drop down to the lower level.
Continue heading right, defeating enemies along the way.
Use the zipline to enter the next building, where more enemies are waiting.
At the far end of the building, you’ll be ambushed by a group of enemies. Defeat them and activate the switch behind them. This will drop an elevator down, giving you access to the lower section of the building.
Drop through the opening and slide under the clearance.
Go left to find a climbable wall. Continue climbing up the building, taking out enemies as you go.
At the top level, head right and use the dash point to reach the next shrine.
East District
From the Shrine, slide under the clearance and continue moving right. Take the zipline down and jump through the dash point at the bottom to land on a platform.
Jump to the next dash point and grab onto the climbable wall.
Scale the wall and jump onto the zipline at the top. While riding the zipline, double-jump up and touch the dash point above you.
This takes you to another climbable wall that you can use to ascend further. Climb up, use the dash points to cross over, and continue scaling to the top.
Jump left from the top platform.
Here you’ll face two enemies. Defeat them, then jump to the upper platform and continue heading left.
After progressing a bit further, you’ll find the Hostage. Defeat the ambushing enemies to rescue him. Once the hostage is safe, head left and you’ll eventually circle back to the City Entrance.
South Entrance
Drop down from the City Entrance to immediately find the South Entrance Shrine. Activate it and continue heading right. Defeat the enemies and use the zipline to enter the next building.
Navigate through the narrow corridors, taking out enemies as you go.
Break the Yokai Barrier on the right side to move forward.
This path is fairly straightforward. Keep progressing and you’ll eventually reach the next Shrine. There are a few collectibles here but you can’t access them yet.
South District
Take the zipline next to the Shrine to head left into the next building.
Use the Ninja Claws to hang from the ceiling and move across to the other side. Jump across the gap and activate the switch. This will deactivate the electrical currents blocking the path below.
Double back and head down through the now accessible route. Go left, defeat the enemies, and activate another yellow switch to open a path at the top of the room.
Two more enemies will spawn near the first switch. Defeat them, then head for the top-left corner of the area to find a third switch. Activate the switch, defeat the enemies that spawn, and move to the left side of the area.
Slide down the ramp and jump across to the platform on the left.
Continue heading left until you spot another switch behind a yellow pushable box.
Keep going left. You’ll see that the upper path is blocked by electrical currents. Drop down to find another blocked switch.
Go right and climb up to reach a switch. Activate it, then push the yellow box out of the way and jump up. Activate the next switch here.
Drop down to the bottom floor and activate one final switch.
Scale the climbable wall and dash into the room on the right.
You’ll find the second hostage here. Defeat the enemies to rescue him. Hit the switch on the right side of the room to deactivate the electrical currents above. Go up to return to the City Entrance. The final hostage is located in the West Side.
West Entrance
Head left from the City Entrance. Jump across and dash to reach the West Entrance Shrine.
Use the Ninja Claws to drop down and dash to the next climbable wall. Continue heading up using wall jumps. Slide down the left edge and take the zipline to reach the next segment.
The platforms up ahead will collapse as soon as you step on them. Use them quickly to climb to the upper level. You’ll get ambushed by a group of enemies. Defeat them and keep heading upward.
Continue dropping down from the ziplines before hitting the electric field until you reach the next building.
Climb the platforms while defeating the archers along the way.
You’ll find a climbable wall on the right side. Use it to go up until you spot some platforms on the left.
Jump across and reach the top floor to activate the next Shrine.
West District
From the Shrine, go right and jump across to reach another climbable wall. Climb to the top of the building and head right.
Walk a few steps to the right to find the next hostage. Just like the earlier rescues, you’ll be ambushed by a group of enemies.
Defeat them to free the hostage. Then, take the zipline on the right and continue forward to return to the City Entrance.
Now that all three hostages are rescued, they’ll be waiting for you at the City Entrance. Run through the dialogue to receive the Ninja Claws. With this ability, you can use the grapple point above to progress further into the stage.
Continue grappling upwards until you reach the top of the zone and activate the next Shrine.
Cranes
Go up from the shrine.
This triggers a chase sequence where a Chopper charges at you from the left side of the screen. You just have to keep moving right dodging the missile attacks and running past obstacles using all your traversal abilities. At the end of the chase, you’ll ride a missile like a surfboard to reach the next Shrine.
Hideout
From the Shrine, continue heading right and you’ll reach the boss of the zone, Kijima.
Kijima has a chained purple attack where he dashes across the screen, but it’s fairly easy to avoid.
He can also summon a floating sword that follows you around the arena.
As long as you dodge these two attacks, the boss doesn’t pose much of a threat. Defeat Kijima to obtain the Vampire Amulet and clear the stage.
