Silent Hill f becomes increasingly complex with each chapter. As the story unfolds, the challenges grow. The story in particular becomes harder to follow as the game progresses, and the difficulty gradually increases. Some chapters focus heavily on puzzle-solving, while others challenge you with complex mazes and tough boss fights. Visit the game’s Steam page to discover more details.
At the conclusion of Chapter Eight, Hinako gets attacked by an unknown entity and is sent back to the Dark Shrine area. So, here I will provide you a complete walkthrough of what to do and how to clear Silent Hill f, Chapter Nine, Dark Shrine Main Hall with ease.
Table of contents
Reach The First Ritual Chamber

Your first objective is to reach the First Ritual Chamber, so just follow Fox Mask. Hinako will find something odd about the wall in the front, but I will come back to it later. Keep following the pathway to the right and open the door.

On your left will be a bandage and the Family Physician’s Log. After picking them up, go left and then take a right to find your first shrine. Opposite the shrine will be a Higashi, so make sure to grab that. Then, exit the room, take a left, head straight, and to your right will be an enemy.
Make quick work of the enemy and then go straight. On your left, you will notice a hall with a Shackled Monster in it. Go there, defeat the monster, grab some items, and head left. Then, enter the room to your east, and an enemy will be there. After defeating the enemy, pick up the Antique Comb and a Yokan.

Now get back in the hall and enter the room with blue flames, and then take a left. After that, go up the stairs (there will be an enemy in the front room and to your right). Then, enter the room in front and keep going east. Do not enter the room ahead; instead, you will notice a lot of candles burning in the room to the right. Head inside and open the gate.

After that, a cutscene will start, and when it ends, you will find yourself with a new arm.
Reach The Second Ritual Chamber

Before going ahead, pick up the Shriveled Abura-age from the right side. Then, follow the path ahead. Eventually, you will come down some stairs, and an enemy will be there waiting for you. Now that you have a new arm that can be used as a weapon, defeat the enemy and then absorb its soul.

Hold X/A upon defeating the enemy to perform Soul Siphon. This way, the enemies won’t reanimate. After that, continue going down and open the door. There will be another door on your right, but as soon as you try to open it, an enemy will jump on you from above. So, bait the monster, defeat it, and then open the door.

Now that you can unlock almost every single door, collect different items. After that, go back to the shrine, save your progress, exit the room, and enter the one with blue flames to your left. Open the door on the right, and you will see Fox Mask just ahead. Follow him, and there will be another shrine.
Now, make your way to the left, and as soon as you enter the room, the door will be locked.
Defeat The Monsters

The annoying birthing monster is back, so you will have to defeat it first. Make sure not to let the cacoons it launches hatch, as that could be troublesome. You need to be aggressive with this enemy, as it has very few attacks.

Look out for its spit, and whenever you see a red glow around it, press R2 for a counter. This would give you a big opening to damage the enemy. After defeating it, make sure to perform Soul Siphon and then enter the Ritual Chamber (you can also grab a First Aid Kit to the left of the chamber).
Once you enter the chamber, a cutscene will commence. Once the cutscene is over, your objective will be updated, and it is now time to reach the final Ritual Chamber.
Reach The Final Ritual Chamber

Follow the path in the front, and you will come across some enemies. Thanks to the second ritual, you now have a new ability, but it requires being fully charged. As you have just received the new ability, it will be fully charged, so press L3 and R3 to awaken the beast. Defeat the enemies using your new ability and keep heading straight.

Open the door and go up the stairs. Be on your guard, as an enemy will be on you as soon as you enter the hall. Defeat the enemies inside and collect a bandage, an Antique Comb, and a Dirty Drawstring Bag that increases your inventory capacity.

Now, go out and this time head down the stairs and defeat the Shackled Monster right ahead. Grab the Yokan, and open the door just ahead. To your left will be a shrine; go there, make some offerings, save your progress, and then head in the opposite direction.

Then, open the door to your right. Enter the room, pick up a letter, Higashi, and a First Aid Kit. After that, go back to the room where you found the first shrine of the chapter and take a left. Then, make your way toward the hall, and on the way to the right, you will notice the room with blue flames.
Enter the room and this time take a right. Go up the stairs, and there will be another shrine. Open the sealed door to its left and defeat the monsters.
Defeat The Monsters

First, a Blade-Legged monster will attack, and then a new enemy will appear. Make sure to activate your bestial form to fight it. Constantly attack the enemy and make sure to mix in a few heavy blows to stun it. Before you know it, the monster will be defeated.

After defeating the monsters, go ahead and open the door for the final ritual. Once you open the door, a cutscene will start, and Hinako has now turned into a complete monster.
Chase After The Fox Mask

After the cutscene ends, follow Fox Mask, and eventually, you will come across a dead end. However, now that you have a new ability, you will be able to see hidden paths. So, press L2 to unlock the path ahead. Then, go back to the main hall, where you may have noticed two fox statues.

I have attached the location above if you are having trouble finding the hall, so just go there. It is north of the first shrine. Then, approach Fox Mask and walk with him.
After that, a cutscene will trigger, and once it ends, a boss fight will start.
How To Defeat Rinko

This is your second main boss in the game and a pretty challenging one, but don’t worry, I will guide you on how to defeat Rinko. You will be in the Bestial Form when the fight starts, but don’t get too cocky. Dodge the attacks you can and attack when you get the chance. Be aggressive but also be careful. This is your chance to damage the boss as much as possible.

Perform some heavy attacks followed by light attacks, and whenever you see the boss glowing red, press R2 to perform a counter. This will give you a big opening to do damage. Rinko has an AoE attack where lava bursts out from the floor. This can be a little tricky to dodge, but as soon as you see the red light blinking, get ready to dodge.

Rinko also has plenty of long-range attacks. She will throw some lava balls at you. Those lava balls will be scattered, so the best way to dodge them is either inward or outward.
Second Phase

Once the second phase starts, she will do more long-range attacks, and more enemies will enter the arena (these enemies can also leap toward you and explode). Rinko also has a long-range attack where she will charge her weapon and unleash lava in a straight line toward you. This deals a lot of damage, so make sure to dodge it as soon as she unleashes it toward you.

That is actually a good thing, as defeating them and absorbing their souls will just fill your gauge quickly. Once your gauge is charged, go back into the Bestial Form and start being aggressive again. Follow the same strategy and defeat Rinko.
Once you have dealt enough damage, a cutscene will start. After that, Hinako will wake up outside Shu’s house, and Silent Hill f, Chapter Nine, Dark Shrine Main Hall, concludes here.
Note that if you’re playing on Story difficulty, you may encounter fewer or different enemies. However, on Hard difficulty, the experience remains largely the same.
