Silent Hill f has just been released and many are already singing its praises. The game has managed to live up to the hype, thanks to the excellent work from Neobards Entertainment, and of course, its writer, Ryukishi07. The game features a total of 13 chapters and takes around 12-15 hours to complete. If you want more information about the game, head over to its official Steam Page.
As I have already covered the first two chapters, in this walkthrough guide, I will thoroughly cover Chapter 3, Ebisugaoka Fields, also known as Fog Town in Silent Hill f. After reuniting with Shu, you will now have to explore Fog Town and search for Rinko.
Table of Contents
Head To Rinko’s House

After talking to Shu, your objective will update. Your task is to head to Rinko’s house, so keep heading straight. Also, as you have been involved in some combat already, you should increase your weapon’s durability before taking another step, as you don’t know what’s waiting for you.
I recommend increasing your weapon’s durability before proceeding with the chapter. Now, head straight while enjoying the horror atmosphere, and you will come across a monster. A pop-up will also appear telling you about focusing, a state that will cause your Sanity to deplete while your gauge fills up, which can be used to deliver a tremendous blow to an enemy.

You don’t have to test this right now, so simply defeat the enemy in front of you from what you already know. Take a left to get a Ramune and then head straight. Another monster will appear for you to defeat. You can also ignore the enemy, let it pass, and then go along the path on your right. Eventually, you will reach a shrine where you can save your game.
After that, head straight, and another cutscene will commence. Once the cutscene is over, go east and grab some red capsules. After that, head in the opposite direction and then go inside the fields.
Exploring The Fields

Do note that the fields aren’t very welcoming, as there are going to some enemies there, so stay on guard. There are many blocked paths, but you will find some loot, so make sure to grab those. Keep heading west on the second path, and you will come across a scarecrow. Near it will be an empty box, so no need to open that.

Instead, go straight and take a right. You will notice another scarecrow right ahead, and an enemy will appear, too. I recommend defeating that enemy, as right across the shack, there will be an unfamiliar enemy. Upon interacting with this new enemy, a pop-up will appear letting you know that it can grab you, and upon being grabbed, you won’t be able to move freely.
So, you must avoid being grabbed at all costs, as if you get grabbed, you will lose a chunk of sanity and health. If you don’t want to fight this enemy, you can simply dodge the first hit and run past it. Take a left and bait the enemy to switch positions with you, so you can run away.

Now, if you want to explore the fields a little bit more, you can, but it’s better if you run away in the opposite direction and get out to get some items and then return.
Making Way To Rinko’s House

When you are out, take a right and you will see two paths splitting. Choose the path on the right and keep going straight. Eventually, you will notice a Kashimashi, and right behind the monster will be a toolkit. On the left side, you will find some red capsules.
You don’t have to fight the Kashimashi, so simply make your way back and follow the other splitting lane. Keep going forward, and you will come across a flyer on the tree. Pick it up and keep going ahead. Eventually, you will reach the Sennensugi Shrine.

On your left you you will notice some shrine-shaped stones covered in fungus. There, you will find the Key to Sakuko’s Mailbox and a letter. Right ahead will be a wooden box, so open it and collect Arare.

After that, approach the shrine, and Divine Water will be placed on one of the stones. Pick it up and go back to the path you can from, and a cutscene will start. Now, you need to head back and follow the path covered in blood (check it on the map).
Back In The Fields

Upon traveling on the path, you will notice there is a dead end, and another path is attached to it in a C shape that takes you around. Follow it, take a left after crossing the wooden shack, and then take a right and stay focused as the Ayakakashi will leap at you to perform a grab attack. Dodge it or you will lose a chunk of health and sanity.
Then, keep running straight and drop down. Pick up the first aid kit and some red capsules on the right. Then, on the left at the front side, pick up the steel pipe. Then, on your left, you will find another toolkit. After that, follow the path on your right and interact with the box placed in the well. A cutscene will commence, and now it is time for your first boss fight.
How To Unlock The Storehouse

This boss is not only creepy, but it is also pretty hard to fight. It has long, short, and mid-distance attacks, so you are in for some trouble. The tactic here is to go behind the boss as quickly as you can to hit him with a heavy blow. Also, when the boss hits you with the sword, make sure to dodge it, as it will give you an opening to hit it with a heavy attack.
However, do note that if you mistakenly hit the sword, your attack will be deflected. The boss has a grab attack that can hit you even when you are away from it. It does not have a massive range, but it is a bit deceptive. Ara-abare, can’t be killed, as if you manage to defeat him, he will get up again after a little while, so it is perhaps not worth fighting him.

If you feel like you can’t defeat Ara-abare, then simply bait it to come to the very other side and then run to the well. Rotate it a few times, and you will get the storehouse key. Upon getting the key, open the door, move the woods from the left, and escape through the storehouse window. There will be a couple of enemies inside, but ignore them and escape.

After that, go ahead and save your progress by praying at the shrine. You can also make some offerings to get faith and perhaps draw another Omamori. Now simply go ahead, and you will again find splitting lanes. Follow the one on the right, pick up the bandage, and go left.
On the west side, you will find an Ema, so grab that and make your way to the east. Open the box and you will get Higashi (fully restores stamina and prevents stamina consumption for a limited period of time). Go back and follow the other lane to meet up with Shu.
Escape The Fields

After the cutscene is over, the environment will turn even more spooky. Move forward and pick up the sickle from the scarecrow. On the right side, you will find a mysterious note. So, this is another puzzle you need to complete in order to escape the fields.
Story Difficulty

You need to find the right scarecrow and remove the needle to progress. If you are playing using the story difficulty, then the following are the right choices:
- In the first area, the one on the left holding a sickle is the correct answer.
- In the second area, the one in the middle who isn’t holding anything is the right choice.
- In the third area, the one with her head upside down on the right side, will lead you to the next location.
- In the fourth area, the one with her arms swaying sideways is the correct answer.
- In the fifth area, the one with head down and arms up is the right answer.
After selecting these, you will escape the fields, but if you have a hard time deciding on the correct one, I have a pro tip for you. In the story difficulty the correct scarecrow will look similar to the main character and will always have a red tie.
Hard Difficulty

If you are playing using the hard difficulty, then the following are the right choices:
- In the first area, the one smiling has a mask on the back of her head.
- In the second area, the one in the middle who is stabbed by a stickle in the back.
- In the third area, the one that no one else is looking at, and you can’t see her face from the front.
- In the fourth area, the one with the frown is the correct answer.
- In the fifth area, the one with her head down and arms up with a stickle in her back is the right choice.
Do note that if you choose the wrong option in any difficulty, you will be attacked. Also, among the scarecrows, there are some real enemies that will follow you quietly (not quite enough for you to not hear them) when you are not looking. This is probably the scariest thing I have faced in the game so far.
Upon completing the puzzle, another cutscene will commence, and Silent Hill f Chapter Three, Ebisugaoka Fields, will be finished.
