Making Your Way Down the Mountain
Finding Shrine, Notes, and Early Items

Your first objective is to make your way down the mountain, so start following the path ahead.
In just a little while, you will come across a shrine, and right next to it will be a baseball bat. Pick up the bat and start following the path again.

On your way to the left, you will notice a stone stairs. You can go up to get a Yokan and a Ramune.
Then, continue following the path, and ahead, you will notice a cocoon hatching. Defeat the enemy and keep moving (there’s a Clinical Trial note at the right).
Just ahead is the birthing monster, so get ready to fight.
Defeating Cocoon and Birthing Monsters

Attack the cocoon first so a monster doesn’t come out of it. Then, shift your focus to the Birthing Monster.
Be aggressive with this enemy, but make sure you have some stamina left after attacking it.
This monster has a very weird two-chain combo, which can catch you off guard, so be attentive.

I noticed that this particular version of the enemy has way more health than usual. Therefore, be cautious and avoid wasting too many resources on it.
Birthing Monster also has a new attack, where it pushes out a blue cocoon. This cocoon will explode when you go near it.
Two Path Junction
Exploring Oinari-sama Path and Collecting Letters

After defeating the monster, continue making your way down the mountain (there’s also a crowbar on the left side). Just ahead, you will notice a house. Behind it, you can find a bandage (in front of the house are stone stairs, and at the top of them can find a toolkit). After obtaining the items, continue following the original path.

At the house to your west, you can find an Omamori Suzuran (makes perfect dodges easier). Then, continue on your way, and you will face two enemies. Defeat them, grab the bandage from the right, and keep heading down.

After that, you will see two paths; take the left one to visit the oldest Oinari-sama in the town. Pick up the Strick Mother’s letter from there, along with the Inari Sushi. After that, start making your way to the opposite side and keep going down.

Fighting Glowing Monster and Removing Obstacles
Eventually, you will notice a bright light to the right, follow that, and a Kashimashi will appear. Defeat it, go around the house, and two more enemies will appear: a Kashimashi and the Glowing Monster.
After detaining them, go under the wooden tree blocking your path ahead. Then, follow the path on the right.
Through the Town
Entering Park and Finding Strict Mother’s Letters

Once you reach the town, make your way to the front and then take a U-turn. Enter the park to your right, and the objective will change to investigate it.
When the dialogue ends, exit the park from the opposite side of where you came from, take a left, and there will be a couple of enemies.
Defeat them, follow the path along the left, and then take a right. On the way to your right, you will find another Strict Mother’s Letter and a First Aid Kit.
After picking them up, go ahead and take a right. Just ahead will be a shrine and another Strict Mother’s Letter.
Defeating Enemies and Collecting Items

Follow the path left to the shrine, and you will face another Birthing Monster. Defeat the enemy and go up the stone stairs at the end of the path. Enter through the gate and go around the house.
Defeat the enemy ahead, grab the toolkit, exit through the gate to the right, and then go up the stone stairs.
Returning to the Shimizu Residence
Battling Monsters and Gathering Supplies

There will be two monsters travelling to the right side together. Approach them and do a heavy attack to hit both at the same time.
Defeat them, pick the bandage to your right, and go around the house. Then, go down the stairs, and two more enemies will attack you.

Defeat them and pick up the Red Capsule from the left on top of the stool. Now that you have some items, you go back up the stairs, around the house, and save your progress.
After that, follow the path ahead and then make your way up (there will be a bandage on the left).
On your way will be two enemies; defeat them (grab another bandage from the left) and keep making your way ahead. Before entering the house, follow the path to the right.
Entering the Gate
There will be two monsters, so defeat them and go ahead. Pick up a chocolate and a bandage, and then go back. Now, enter the house through the front gate.

Searching for Shu and Rinko
Entering the House and Following Clues
Once you enter the house, a short cutscene will play, and after that, the phone will start ringing. Pick up the phone and then go straight. To your right will be a shrine.
Praying at Shrines and Getting a Higashi
After praying at the shrine, take a right and enter the room to your east to get a Higashi.

Investigating the Door Mechanism
Solving the Calendar Puzzle and Fighting Enemies
Exit the room and keep following the path. Pick up the Red Capsule on the way, and it is time to investigate the Door Mechanism.
Follow the red light ahead, pick up the Calendar with 6 written on it. After picking up the Calendar, go back, take a right, and place it on the wall just ahead.

Then, open the door right ahead and follow the path (there’s a Red Capsule in the first room to the right). Keep going straight, and you will come across another shrine.
Now, follow the path to the right to get a Shriveled Abura-age (there will also be a Glowing Monster here).
Exploring The House
Collecting Tools, Weapons, and the Ema Tablet

After that, open the door opposite to where you get the item from and pick up the Picture Frame. Grab a toolkit and Red Capsule from the left, exit the room, and an enemy will be waiting for you.
Defeat it, go back on the path, and open the door right in front (there will be another enemy).
Pick up the Dried Carcass from the right and enter the room to the east (there will be two more enemies, so defeat them). There is a Sickle inside the room, so pick it up if you want to.
Then open the door in the front and open another door to the left. Inside will be an Ema tablet.

Flashback and First Crest
Triggering Flashback and Collecting Items
After picking that up, head left and then enter the room to your right. A flashback will start, so wait for the dialogue to finish.
After the cutscene is over, pick up the Yellowed Calendar and exit the door (as the structure of this new location is almost the same, place the Calendar in the same spot you placed it in he previous one).
Then, take a right and open the door to the last room on the left. Pick up a page from Hinako’s Diary and a Ramune.

Now, go back to the shrine, save your progress, and enter the last room to the right. Pick up a Letter From a Man, exit the room, take a right, then a left, and just ahead will be the annoying birthing monster.
Defeat it, go inside the room to the east, pick up the Kudzu Tea, and then exit.
Mirror Reward
Then, follow the path to the right (there is a Blessed Hand Mirror on the left side along the way) and enter the last room to the left.
Solving the Scales Puzzle

This puzzle’s solution can be different for you from others, and that’s alright because it is affected by which ending you are going for.
If this is your first playthrough, then your ending will be Coming Home To Roost.
Endings and Puzzle Solutions Overview
| Ending | Right Side | Left Side |
| Coming Home To Roost | Headless Doll | All The Other Dolls |
| Fox’s Wedding | Headless Doll and Half-Mask Lady Doll | Old Man Doll, Fox Mask Doll, and School Girl Doll |
| The Fox Wets Its Tail | Old Man Doll, Fox Mask Doll, and Headless Doll | School Girl Doll and Half-Mask Lady Doll |
| Ebisugaoka In Silence | All The Other Dolls | School Girl Doll |
After completing the puzzle, you will get one of the crests, so run back to the shrine and save your progress.
Getting the Fetching Key
Melting Wax and Unlocking the Door

Now, it is time to enter the third part of the house. So, follow the path ahead and open the door at the end. After entering, go to the end and enter the room to your right.
Interact with the bookshelf, and in the lowest middle section, you will find Hinako’s diary. Examine it and you will get a Block of Wax.

After that, exit the room and follow the path to your front. Ahead, there will be some monsters, ignore them and enter to room to the right (the door will be open).
Pick up the Propane Tube, a toolkit, and a Furoshiki (increases inventory capacity).
After that, go back to the shrine, save your progress or make an offering, and then open the door at the end of the path.
Take the first left, defeat the monster, and open the second door to your west. It will be a wooden door, slightly ajar.

Open the door fully, enter, connect the Propane Tube, put the Block of Wax inside, and you will get the Fetching Key.
Ominous Photo Puzzle
Hanging Photos and Solving Crest Puzzle

After you have obtained the key, exit the kitchen, take a left, and follow the path.
After following the path for a while, open the door where (in front of the door will be a path that leads to its opposite direction). This is the photo room where you will have to solve a puzzle.

After entering the room, hang the picture of Hinako you found to the right and rotate it. There are two more photos in the room that are upside down, so rotate them, and the group photo will fall.
Then pick up the White Bird and Fox Plate, another crest. Now, depending on the ending you are choosing, the solution will be different.

The one I told you above is for the standard ending for the first playthrough. If you are going for another ending, then the solutions are the following:
| Ending | Upside Down | Right-Side Up |
| The Fox Wets Its Tail | Rinko and Hinako’s Parents | Hinako, Shu, and Sakuko |
| Ebisugaoka in Silence | All Other Photos | Hinako |
| Fox’s Wedding | Rinko, Shu and, Sakuko | Hinako and Her Parents |
Getting the Last Crest
Unlocking Door and Completing Crest Placement

After solving the puzzle, go back to the third hall and follow the path ahead. When you have reached the end, take a left, then another left.
Keep going straight, take another left, and open the first door to your left. There will be a lot of enemies on the way, but don’t fight them. Simply run and open the door using the Fetching Key.

Upon entering, another flashback will be triggered. Pick up the last crest, Black Bird and Sword Plate, from the table along with a Yokan.
Now, go back to the initial area, approach the shrine, save your progress, and just ahead to the right side, place all of the crests into the door.
My Room Puzzle
Multiple Ending Solutions and Pine Tree Emblem

This puzzle’s solutions also differ based on the ending you are going for. If it is your first playthrough, then place the crest with swords to the left, the blank one (its flip side is scales) at the bottom, the fox one at the right, and the heavens one on the top.
If you are going for another difficulty in the NG+ run, then choose the solution from the following:
| Ending | Solution |
| The Fox Wets Its Tail | Top: Swords, Left: White Bird, Right: Scales and, Bottom: Blank (flip side is Heavens) |
| Fox’s Wedding | Top: Fox, Left: Scales, Right: Black Bird (flip side is Swords), and Bottom: Blank (flip side is Heavens) |
| Ebisugaoka in Silence | Top: Blank (flip side Scales), Left: White Bird, Right: Black Bird, and Bottom: Heavens |

Once you have opened the room, grab the Pine Tree Emblem, and another flashback will start. Then, upon exiting the room, a cutscene will commence.
Preparing for the Final Boss
Collecting Healing Items and Placing Emblem
After that, prepare yourself for a big battle, and when you are ready, place the Pine Tree Emblem in the red door and then open it.
Explore the hallway to get a few items (two First Aid Kits, a toolkit, and an Antique Comb) and then head straight.
If any of your weapons is in bad condition, you can replace it with the Baseball Bat right beside the door you are about it enter. Then open the door, and a cutscene will start. Hinako now has to face her parents.
Boss Fight – Hinako’s Parents
Attack Patterns and Strategy

This fight is going to be hectic as Hinako’s father is now the Ara-Abare-like creature. It has almost the same attacks, so you would be familiar with its pattern. That would make it easier for you to fight this boss.
The mother won’t approach much often, as she will be focusing more on throwing knives at you, which are pretty easy to dodge.

So, go away from the mother, and Hinako’s father will follow you pretty quickly. He will do a running attack, dodge that, and you will have a big opening to strike him.
Defeating One Parent to Win
Do this a few times, and before you know it, the boss fight will be over. There is also an achievement to defeat the father first.
It may be a little annoying to do all the running, but it will make your fight easier. Also, you don’t have to defeat both of them, as just defeating one would end the fight.
Chapter 10 Conclusion
Once the fight is over, a cutscene will commence, and with that, Silent Hill f Chapter 10, Shimizu Residence will conclude.
