Welcome to Into Indie Games walkthrough of Silent Hill: Townfall, Part 1: Arrival.
Silent Hill: Townfall, developed by Screen Burn, is a new addition to the Silent Hill series. In this game, you, as Simon Ordell, return to the island of St. Amelia to set things right. As with the familiar Silent Hill setting, fog is a key feature. For more information, check out the game’s Steam page.
As this is a Silent Hill game, there are going to be plenty of mind-bending puzzles and some other obstacles. So here, in this guide, we will guide you through the first part or chapter, Arrival, in Silent Hill: Townfall.

Silent Hill: Townfall – Part 1: Arrival Walkthrough – Chapter 1: Cold Open

As you start the game, the first part, Arrival, will begin. It features the first four chapters. Once the cutscene ends, go up the stairs and continue straight. Head down the next set of stairs, then climb the ladder. There are stairs too, but do not go up from there. On the other side, there will be a ladder, so head up from there and then continue ahead through the fog.
After you go ahead a little, a cutscene will commence. Once it ends, head forward, and you will see a red light effect. So, this red light is what you need to follow. Go ahead, up the stairs, and then head back and go left. Keep going ahead and then head left into the street of the town.
From there, go ahead, and you will notice the red light again. Head close to the light, and a cutscene will commence. Once the cutscene is over, you will have a map of the area. Now, you can explore the island, or you can head straight to the next objective.
Find The Telephone Booth

The game does not really tell you what to do, so you need to find the telephone booth yourself. However, once you are near it, you will hear the ringing sound as someone calls. From the town square, just on the left side, you will find the telephone booth.
Pick up the phone, but the call will end. Now, you will have three options to choose from. You can choose any, and the call will be made. However, the option you need to choose is the third one, Save Yourself. So, simply dial 100 and then press OK.
Once you have done that, a cutscene will commence, and you will be asked to save your game. Do so, and then the cutscene will continue. Once the cutscene ends, you will be in a dark room. With that, Chapter 1, Cold Open in Silent Hill: Townfall, Part 1: Arrival will be concluded.
Exit The Dark Room – Chapter 2: Escape

Go ahead, unlock the door, and then open it. From there, go forward and then head left. Then open the vent on the left side and go through it. From there, keep going ahead, and eventually you will reach a ladder. Climb the ladder and then go ahead.
Interact with Room 204, and then a cutscene will commence. During the cutscene, Simon will find a CRTV, which helps in finding clues and more using the frequencies.
Inspect The Apartment
Now, using the new device, you can look for any clues nearby. Once you are done with that, there is the washroom door that you need to open.
Solving The Door Puzzle

The solution is pretty simple. It is 18 January 1996. Input that and the door will unlock. Inside will be the key to Room 204, so head out and open the door to get out of the apartment. Then go straight ahead and call the elevator.
Once you have done that, you will be introduced to a new CRTV feature. You can also detect threats with it. On the left side, facing the elevator, you will be able to see a threat using this machine. However, you do not have to do anything about it for now, as you simply need to wait for the elevator.
Once it arrives, enter and then interact with it. As you exit the lift, you will reach the lobby. It seems like there is nothing inside, so head to the main door and select Yes to open it.
Then a cutscene will commence, and the starting credits will roll up. With that, Chapter 2, Escape in Silent Hill: Townfall, Part 1: Arrival will be concluded.
Chapter 3: A Connection – Exploring House 2A

Now, what you need to do is head straight ahead from the town square, and on the right side, you will notice small white, blue, and red flags. Ahead of it will be an alley. Head there, go right, and then up the stairs. Interact with the door, and then a short cutscene will commence.
Inside the house, in the kitchen, you will find a box that says Human Organ in Transit. On the left side of the box will be a drawer you can open. Inside will be a flashlight, but without batteries.
Finding The Batteries

Then head up the stairs and enter the bathroom on the left. Open the cabinet to find Gauze, a healing item. Then go ahead and enter the room to your left. On the left side, in the drawer, you will find two AA batteries, which can power the flashlight.
Now, open your inventory and combine both. Then you will be able to use the flashlight. After that, head into the opposite room, examine everything, and then enter the bathroom. Inside the bathroom, you will find the card of the Human Organ for Transplant box.
It says the secure lock code can be provided by email. Now, head down the stairs and use your flashlight in the room under the stairs. You will then see that you need an Electricard.
Find The Electricard

So, head out of the house, get back on the street, and as you are going there, a short cutscene will commence. Once the cutscene ends, head left and then right. As you go there, a pop-up will appear explaining the peek mechanic.
Now, stay hidden and peek to see the monster. Crouch to hide and let it pass by. Once it has gone, go ahead and enter through the door on your right. Even if the monster has noticed you, enter and then quickly enter the bathroom. Lock the door and pick up the Gauze inside.
Then, check through the CRTV if the monster is no longer there and get out of the bathroom. After that, enter through the door on the right and unlock the main door. Then explore the store, and inside you will find a plank and the Electricard.
The Electricard will be inside the cash counter. Pick it up and then leave through the main door, but do note that the monster will be around, so be careful.
Head Back To House 2A

Now, head back to House 2A and insert the Electricard. Then, by pressing the A button, cycle to the Card Credit and then press the B button. Then turn on the red switch, and power will be restored. After that, head out and enter the room on your right.
There will be a computer in that room. Interact with it and check the emails. The second email has the hint to open the Human Organ box. If you are confused, the code is 956 133. Then open the box, and you will find Zoe’s Lanyard, her medical card inside.
With that, Chapter 3, Connection in Silent Hill: Townfall, Part 1: Arrival will conclude, and Chapter 4 will begin.
Chapter 4: Searching For Zeo

Now, before you head out of the house, there is a telephone near the exit. Use that to save your game. You just need to dial 100 in order to save the game. Now, there is an auto-save feature in this game, but it is better to manually save too.
Now, exit the house, and you have to go to the Shorefront Family Clinic. That will be on the right side of the town square and marked on your map. Head there, and as you are approaching the clinic, you will get a pop-up.
That pop-up will tell you that you have to approach the enemies carefully. It basically tells you that weapons and health items in this game are pretty rare, so it is better to use the stealth approach instead of taking them head-on. The game also tells you that saving ammo and health is important, which shows there may be more terrifying enemies ahead.
Head Inside The Clinic
You can use the CRTV to see where the monster is and try not to go there. Simply avoid going to where the monster is and head straight to the clinic. Once you reach there, you will have to use Zoe’s card to unlock the gate. Once you have done that, the monster will approach this location, so what you need to do is head to the left and hide behind the dumpster.
Crouch to hide behind it and use the CRTV to see the monster’s location. When the monster goes away, enter the clinic and lock the door. Then head inside the room on your right labeled as Dr. Stevenson. Inside, you will find gauze, and inside the drawer on the right side, there will be a note.
There will be a door labeled reception, which will be locked. You will need to find the code to unlock it.
Explore The Clinic
Then head out of the room and go ahead. Go ahead from the whiteboard, head inside the room to your right, and open the drawer to pick up the Empty IV Bag. There will also be a Gauze on the right side of the room, so make sure to pick that up too.
So, head out and go north to enter the room labeled B. McMillan. Open the locker and look around to find the IV Fluid on the bottom right side. Then, open the inventory and combine the items to have the IV Fluid inside the bag.
Finding The Code To Unlock The Reception

Now, if Simon has suffered a fatal attack, normally, he will die. However, if he has the IV Bag filled with the fluid equipped, he will be revived, and a small amount of health will be restored. After that, exit the room, go ahead, and then enter the first room on the left side.
Inside, you will find a scalpel, and there will be some other interactables. On the computer, there will be a note saying 2896. Also, use the computer to read the emails. Now, exit the room and head back to the locked room, Reception.
Unlock The Reception
Use the code 2896 to unlock the door and then enter. Once you are inside, use the telephone to save your progress and then listen to the new message. After listening to the message, you will know that you now have to head to the pharmacy.
Now, as you are going ahead, you may encounter the monster in the town square, so be careful. You can take it down, but it is better to avoid the fight. However, if you do want to fight it, then focus more on blocking the hits, as they can be deadly to you.
Head To The Pharmacy

Then head to the pharmacy, which will be marked on the map, and then use the scalpel once you are there to open the gate. Then enter and head to the other side of the counter, go up the stairs, and there will be a telephone and another machine that you can fine-tune using the CRTV.
You have to align the CRTV so the colors stop moving. It can be a little challenging, so if you are having a hard time, turn off the Enable CRTV Motion Sensor Controls in the control options. Then use the D-pad to adjust the colors so they fit in the boxes.
Then open the locker on the left side, and inside you will find a First Aid Kit. Then there will be a rusty locker that will be locked. The code to open it is 6539. Use that code to open the locker, and inside you will find the Prescription Dosage Error Note.
Heading To Building Number 16

Now, you have to stealthily make your way toward the town square. Be careful, as there are going to be some monsters along the way. Head there and then go right. Use the scalpel to open the gate to St. Amelia Park. This park leads to the building you need to go into.
You can also unlock the locked door from the left side of the area. So, from there, head to Jess’s mark on the map, and then open the white gate. If the mark doesn’t appear for you, don’t worry. Simply head to where the building numbered 14 is (it will be mentioned on the map).
After opening the white gate, Head left and squeeze through the narrow space. From there, you will be pretty close to the apartments, so head there, but make sure to use the telephone booth in the area to save your progress.
Then enter the building numbered 16, south of the building labeled 14, and enter the apartment on the left. After that, enter the washroom and pick up the First Aid Kit from the cabinet. There won’t be anything inside either bedroom, so you can ignore them and then go ahead. On the table on the right side will be a box you will have to unlock with a key.
Finding The Key To Jess’s House

Head up the stairs and enter the apartment on the right. Go ahead, enter the room on the left to find a note and more things to examine. Then enter the room opposite it to find a strange postcard. Then, exit the room, go ahead, and you will find a 21 Farrow St. – Back Door Key.

Once you have the key, head back to Jess’s mark and unlock the door. If the location of Jess’s house isn’t appearing for you, don’t worry. Check the screenshot above for the location of her house. Once you are inside, open the drawer to pick up the Lock Box Key and a document on the right side of the drawer. From there, go ahead into the living room for a legal notice and continue ahead to find a telephone. Use it to save your progress and listen to the message.
After that, enter the bedroom to find a medical bag inside, where you will find a Broken Stethoscope. Then enter the washroom to find a Gauze. Now that you have the Lock Box Key, head back to the building numbered 16 and then use the key to unlock the box. Inside the box, you will find the Empty IV Bag and IV Fluid.
Head Back To The Clinic

Now head back to the clinic and enter the last room with lots of boxes. Inside the room, you will see weight scales. Interact with them and place the Broken Stethoscope on the left, the Prescription Dosage Error Note in the middle, and Zoe’s Lanyard on the right.
This will start a cutscene, and Chapter Four, along with Part One, Arrival, in Silent Hill: Townfall will be over.
