Welcome to the first part of our walkthrough for Solateria.
Tott, the Pyron Warrior, starts his journey in the Silent Ruins, answering the call to find the King. But the world is infected with Shadow Plague, and a mad ferryman guards your path to the Earth Core.

Unlocking Someone’s Blessing & Reaching the First Altar
After the intro cutscene, start heading right. Continue moving forward till you spot an item on the ground.
Interact with it to collect the Pyron Wristband, your primary weapon.
You’ll spot a large Stone Tablet up ahead. Interact with it for some lore and then continue moving forward to reach the next section.
Drop down through the wooden platform to the lower part of the area.
You’ll come across a Blue Crystal Wall. Attack it a few times to break it.
Continue forward to face your first enemy. Take it down.
The game puts a lot of emphasis on parrying enemy attacks. By timing your block at the moment an enemy attack lands, you can eliminate enemy Resistances. Once all enemy Resistances are gone, the enemy becomes Unstable, allowing you to execute a Pyron Action to deal massive damage (counterattack).
Keep moving forward past the enemies to reach a wooden platform. Note the Vine Wall on the right. You’ll have to unlock a new ability to break the wall. Fall through the wooden platform below.
On your left, you’ll spot another Blue Crystal Wall. You’ll have to come from the other side to break it.
Head right and drop down to the lower section.
After a relatively long drop, continue along the path to the left. You’ll have to fight past some enemies.
You’ll see a set of wooden platforms heading up. This leads back to the Blue Crystal Wall. For now, jump to the platform on the left.
Interact with the Glowing Stone Statue on the left to get Someone’s Blessing. This gives you the ability to charge up your weapon and unleash a powerful attack that burns your enemies.
Go right and use the wooden platforms to head up. Use a charged attack to burn the Vine Wall and continue forward.
Soon you’ll run into an ambush. Use Ignite (press X/Square + B/Circle controller) to burn all enemies.
Continue right and break the Blue Crystal Wall.
Climb the wooden platforms up ahead to loop back to the area where you first spotted a Vine Wall on the right. Burn the wall and head through.
This takes you to the next section. There’s an NPC up ahead. But before you talk to him, interact with the Altar.
These Altars serve as your checkpoint in Solateria. You can save your progress, heal, or upgrade from these Altars. You can also fast-travel between them once you unlock more.
Run through the tutorial and equip all your Parts from the Silent Ruins Entryway Altar. Then add an Inflare to one of the three unlocked Core Stones (Warmth, Strength, Stamina). You can see how putting points in each Core Stone affects your character.
When you’re ready, talk to the NPC on the right. This is Chasa, a Pyron Warrior like yourself.
He’ll also mention a poor ferryman at the end of these ruins. He’s talking about the boss of the zone, Charon. After the conversation, he’ll spawn a training dummy for you to practice your parry timings.
Opening the Red Barrier
After speaking with Chasa, continue forward. You’ll spot a red barrier up ahead.
Use the wooden platform nearby to head up. You’ll spot an item on a wooden platform above you. You can jump to it from the upper floor on the left.
Take down the enemy on the upper floor and pick up the item. It’s a Shadow Garlic, a food ingredient you can use later.
Continue left, along the platform where you fought the enemy. There’s one more enemy up ahead that you’ll have to beat. After that, get on the wooden platform on the left and jump to reach the next section.
In the next section, you’ll see an item that you can’t reach above you on the left.
Break the Vine Wall below to reveal a hidden room. Pick up the Cracked Solin Fragment inside.
From here, head right and take out the monster up ahead.
Continue going right till you spot a wooden platform heading up.
Use the platforms to reach the floor on the left. Take out the enemy here and read the Stone Tablet for some more lore.
There’s another floor above you to the left and to the right, but you can’t reach them just yet.
Return to the lower floor and continue heading right. You’ll drop down to a lower area. There are some more enemies here that you’ll have to take out as you keep moving forward.
Up ahead, you can climb to a floating platform with an enemy using a wooden platform. Take out the enemy and break the green rock here to collect some OHN (currency).
Go back down and head right to spot an opening heading below. Don’t go down just yet.
Instead, run all the way to the right. You’ll spot another OHN Node up ahead.
But as you get close to it, an enemy will break the wall on the right and ambush you. Take it down. Then pick up the item from where the enemy came from to collect a Solgreen.
Return to the opening from earlier and drop through to reach the next section.
As you drop down, you’ll spot a Blue Crystal Wall on your right.
Go left to spot another Stone Tablet. Break the Vine Wall past the Stone Tablet.
Continue forward, and drop to the floor on the left.
Take a few steps forward to encounter your first mini-boss, Gatekeeper of Terradin.
Beating the Gatekeeper of Terradin
The Gatekeeper of Terradin has strong defense and will negate most of your attack damage because of its shield. To break the shield, you have to first use a charged attack on it. After that, your basic attacks will deal normal damage.
The mini-boss has a powerful slam attack that creates a shockwave over a wide area. You can avoid it by either dodging away from the boss or jumping as it slams its hands down.
It can also swipe with its arms to deal damage in close range. You can parry this attack for a counterattack.
In addition, the boss can also dig underground, disappearing from the arena for a brief moment. He reappears after a moment and regenerates his shield, requiring you to break it again to deal damage.
Though the mini-boss isn’t too difficult, it can deal a lot of damage at this point in the game. The first thing you’ll want to do is take away its shield. Focus on parrying its attacks and avoiding unnecessary damage, and you should be able to take it down without any issues.
You’ll also get the tutorial for Incapacitate and Burst during this battle, which lets you deal massive damage to the enemy once it’s stunned.
After defeating the Gatekeeper of Terradin, interact with the red lever on the left. This will open the red barrier in the lower left part of the zone, creating a shortcut back to the Altar.
Go right after activating the lever and drop down to the lower floor. Take out the enemy here and head left first.
Keep moving left to spot an opening heading down. This leads to the main boss of the zone, but we won’t go down just yet.
Instead, jump to the upper floor and continue left to loop back to the Silent Ruins Entryway Altar. Use it to heal up and upgrade your stats using Inflares you’ve earned so far.
Finding Jima & Royal Seal
After resting up, head all the way to the right, past the area where you dropped down after defeating the mini-boss.
Take down the enemies and continue moving till you spot a wooden platform leading up. There’s also an exit on your right.
Go up first. Jump to the floor on the left and take out the enemy.
Break the Blue Crystal Wall just past the enemy to open a shortcut.
Then head back down and take the exit on the right.
In the next section, you’ll find an NPC up ahead. This is Jima, a travelling merchant who sells you some useful stuff in exchange for OHN. There’s an OHN Exchanger right past the NPC where you can exchange Solin Fragments for OHN.
Pick up both Info Slates. If you don’t have enough OHN, use the OHN Exchanger nearby or farm some enemies. You can also pick up 2 Inflares if you’ve got enough OHN.
Continue past the merchant and jump across the floating platforms on the right.
On the right-most platform, you’ll spot a chest, just past an enemy. Take down the enemy and open the chest for a Royal Seal – Normal. This item lets you upgrade Core Stones later.
Go left and use the wooden platform to reach the upper section. There’s another enemy here that you’ll have to defeat.
Keep going left to find another Stone Tablet and a Cracked Solin Fragment.
Drop down to the left and make your way back to the Silent Ruins Entryway Altar. We’re done with the zone for now. There’s more to explore here once we unlock more abilities.
Drop down the opening just before the red barrier from earlier to enter the boss arena.
Go right and drop down to the lower floor.
Interact with the object up ahead to trigger the first boss battle of the game.
How to Beat Charon
Compared to the Gatekeeper of Terradin, Charon is a much tougher fight. You can only damage him by striking at the glowing crystal on his chest.
The boss will continuously attack using his left and right arm swiping the arena. You can parry these attacks and execute Pyron Action to deal massive damage and build up stagger.
The boss also has an AOE attack that explodes outward from his chest. It’s telegraphed well in advance, giving you plenty of time to move out of the way. Run to the edge of the arena to avoid getting caught in it.
The boss will also periodically drop two giant boulders from the ceiling. Look for falling debris above your screen to predict where the boulders will drop from and move out of the way.
You’ll get multiple opportunities to Burst the boss if you can time your parries properly. Keep a close eye on his arms to predict where he’ll attack from and parry them. The boss will go down eventually.
Reaching the Earth Core
Once Charon is defeated, interact with his left arm to climb on his shoulder.
He will then ferry you across the river.
Once you reach the other side, run through his dialogue and watch as he breaks down.
You can jump across the rocks to the other side to pick up a Firm Solin Fragment along the way.
When you’re ready, head right and interact with the giant statue up ahead.
This unlocks the DMG Reduction Core Stone, where you can invest Inflares to increase your damage reduction-related abilities.
Keep moving forward, along the right, to spot another Stone Tablet. Continue right to exit to the next section.
You’ll spot an Altar up ahead. Interact with it to activate the Earth Port Entrance Altar.
