Welcome to our walkthrough of Sovereign Tower.
In Cycle 1, the game introduces the core management systems of Sovereign Tower, including faction reputation, Sovereign Archetypes, the world map, glossary, and knight management. After Arlin explains the gameplay loop, you recruit your first knight, Angelica, choose to let her keep a cat, and accept Carina’s request to recover her missing smithing hammer, unlocking the “Hammer Lost, Yet Again” quest. You also meet the Lady of the Tower, who can unlock new rooms as you recruit servants, and discover Angelica’s hidden Animal Lover trait by praising her cat, increasing her affinity. Finally, you assign Angelica to the hammer quest, where her stats and known attributes make her a good fit.

Cycle 1
Morning
Let’s go over the UI first. You will notice on the top left corner –
- The current Cycle
- Reputation with the Merchants
- Reputation with the Scholars
- Reputation with the Nobles
- Reputation with the People
- Available Funds

On the right the tabs show the Sovereign Menu.

Here you can see the reputation and the archetypes you can branch into through your decisions. Increase in satisfaction with each class unlocks dialogue options and new items in shops. Sovereign Archetypes increase or decrease with your choices. Each Archetype has three thresholds to reach with each threshold unlocking new dialogue options. Some dialogue options are unlocked depending on how much the Archetype is increased compared to another.
You can also check the map from the next tab.

The third tab is the glossary. You can check the details of all the servants and knights here. Knights gain experience through questing, and once they level, you can allocate one point to a statistic of your choice. Knights also have attributes that decide their behaviour towards a quest. The knights have preferences, these don’t impact their performance in quests, only their affinity towards the Sovereign. Affinity represents how a knight currently feels about the Sovereign. Increasing this triggers new dialogue option with the knight. Low levels of Affinity can casue the Knight to leave the round table.

For now, resume the conversation with Arlin. He will now explain the basic gameplay loop. Listen to the citizens, help them out or not, assign Knights to solve their issues. You will now meet your first Knight Angelica.

She will ask to bring in a cat. You can decline it right away, look for other means to solve her loneliness but no cats or allow her to have a cat. I chose to give her a cat. If you check her tab now, you will see all the aspects of a Knight we wrote earlier.

You will also notice you can currently have 6 knights of the round table. Your first visitor today is Carina. She needs her smithing hammer found.

Carina can restore relics for the Knights. Agreeing to find the hammer will get you the quest “Hammer lost, yet again”.
Noon
From the menu, go to the gallery to meet the Lady of the Tower. You can romance the statue fyi.

She can unlock various rooms in the tower for you. For that you need to recruit particular servants. Go back to the tower screen.

Click on the Map room next. You can issue certain orders from the map room. Fix areas that were damaged due to failure of a quest, invite people for an audience or even knights that were turned away.

You can check the inventory too but you should not have anything there. On the Tower screen, you will see Angelica wants to talk. You will find her in the kitchen. Praising her cat will discover her hidden attribute “Animal Lover”.

You can choose to romance Angelica, but I didn’t. Told her to clean the floor, an action she liked and that increased my affinity. Back from the tower screen go to the Round Table. You can assign Knights to Quests from here. To succeed in a quest there are two main factors – having enough knights and reach the quest’s stat requirement. The other thing is the Knight’s attribute (known and unknown), you will have to figure out whether certain attributes will have a positive or negative impact on the quest. Knights can take damage on quests. There is a range, for example for the quest “Hammer Lost, yet again” damage risk is 0-2. Angelica herself can take up to 5 damage.

Quest: Hammer Lost, yet again
Reading the quest description, you can see there isn’t anything that clashes with Angelica’s attributes of which we know three – Naïve, Animal Lover, and Kind-Hearted. In terms of requirements – Angelica mirrors the requirements of STR, AGI and LCK pretty closely. You can check that by clicking on “backstory”. Assign the quest to her and click Next Cycle. After you quest is completed you will learn that outcome is determined by Knight’s statistics, attributes and party size. The outcome will also decide experience points and gold earned as well as the damage taken. A critical or major success gives a boost to the party’s affinity and a major failure dimishes it. Meeting special conditions result in Unexpected Outcomes. These can be positive or negative.

As you can see, Angelica took 1 damage and was successful. She also received XP. From rewards you will see she received 30 Gold and a follow up audience.
