Star Birds Walkthrough – Sector 1

Star Birds

Star Birds Walkthrough

Welcome to Star Birds. The Captain has just hatched from their egg after a long sleep. The rest of the crew guides the Captain about their duties, refreshing their memory as they relearn the basics of the game.

In this part of the walkthrough, we’ll be covering Sector 1 in detail. You’ll find everything that you need to do to reach the next sector. However, keep in mind that the asteroids might look a little different in your playthrough as they are randomly generated, but the overall gameplay remains the same.

Tutorial And Introductions

The game’s intro cutscene shows that the crew is preparing for a long journey ahead through the asteroids, and before they head into it, they’ll need to gather certain resources.

For the first step, the game will tell you pretty much everything to do. You’ll have to accept the quest first from the icons on the left side of the screen.

You will be asked to see if the asteroid has any iron on it. You don’t have to concern yourself with the undiscovered asteroid nearby, and simply enter the one that has iron on it.

Setting Up A Base

After you’ve examined the asteroid, you’ll be asked to land in a crater. This part is important because from now on, most of the major buildings you’ll be making will be built on large craters.

Before landing on an asteroid, you won’t be able to see its resource deposits, but once you land on it, everything will become clearer.

Select a crater to land on. As soon as you land, all the mineral deposits on the asteroid will become visible.

Setting Up An Extractor On Iron

After building your base, you have to build an extractor. An extractor is required to mine the minerals from a deposit. However, setting up an extractor isn’t free of cost and will consume 50 Credits.

You can hover over the deposit to see which type of resource it offers. First, you’ll have to find an iron deposit.

After you’ve set up an extractor, you’ll have to connect it to the launch pad. This action will allow the mined resources to be sent to the spaceship.

Click on the extractor of your choice and drag it to the launch pad. The game will tell you to set up more exctractors to speed up the mining process.

Once the quest is completed, you’ll have to click on the quest icon on the left side of the screen. A completed quest will be colored yellow. Click on the quest icon to immediately receive its reward.

The game will tell you that a launch pad can only receive resources from four extractors at once, so if you need more in the future, you’ll have to build another launch pad.

Second Launch Pad And Mining Aluminium

After you’ve set up your second launch pad, you’ll receive a quest from the Captain. Click on the Captain’s icon on the left side of the screen and select accept.

Now, you have to locate Aluminium deposits on the asteroid. Simply hover over the deposits, and the game will tell you what it is. Once you find Aluminium, set up extractors on it and connect them to the launch pad.

Once you’ve gathered the required amount and completed the quest, you can move on to the next quest.

New Module Quest

After setting up a second launch pad and securing the mining of Aluminium, you’ll receive a new quest module. Accept it and wait for the required resources to be delivered.

Mining Copper And Water

Shortly after completing the module quest, you’ll receive another request from the Captain, and this time, they’ll be asking for Copper and Water. Neither of these resources is present on this asteroid, so we’ll have to head out.

Click on the Map icon in the top-left corner of the screen, and that will bring you to a world view. The tutorial will ask you to discover the second asteroid in the world view.

Discovering asteroids consumes Tech points; you’d have 15 of those now. Simply by hovering over the planet, you’ll be able to see that it contains Copper and one additional resource that has yet to be identified. Discovering will make it possible to see what other resources an asteroid has to offer.

Landing On The Second Asteroid

Now that you’ve discovered the second asteroid and have found water there, you’ll have to set up a launch pad in one of the craters.

After you’ve set up a launch pad, you’ll have enough credits to establish at least one extractor. Once you do so, regardless of whether it’s on Water or Copper, you’ll run out of credits.

Earning Credits With Rover

The game will then tell you to deploy a Rover. You have to select it from the build menu and deploy it anywhere on the planet.

After you’ve done so, you’ll have to click on the rover and drag it around, looking for shiny golden nuggets. These nuggets will keep spawning more after you consume them using your rover.

You can keep doing this for as long as you want, but you should have at least 200 Credits now to do everything smoothly.

Mining Water And Copper

After earning enough credits, you’ll be able to set up multiple extractors on the second asteroid. The ideal setting is to have two placed in Water, while the other two extractors should go on Copper.

After you’ve set up all the extractors, you can connect them to the launch pad, and it will start progressing the quest the Captain gave you earlier.

Getting Oxygen

After you’ve collected Copper and Water, the Captain will present you with another quest. This time, you’re tasked with gathering Oxygen. Accept the quest from the Captain, and this will be the last task of Sector 1. After that, we’ll be ready to progress.

To get Oxygen, you’ll have to set up a Refiner. Since it’s a new building, you’ll have to research it. Select the Refiner icon from the build menu. It will require you to spend 10 Tech points to start researching.

After you start researching, you’ll simply have to wait for a few seconds until the research is finished. Make sure you’re delivering the required Water to the spaceship via the launch pad on this asteroid.

Setting Up A Refiner And Producing Oxygen

Now, since the first launch pad is already occupied with four extractors, we’ll have to build another one in any other large crater on the asteroid. You’d have plenty of credits to spare by now after completing the last few quests.

To produce Oxygen, you’ll have to place a refiner and then place an extractor on a water resource. After that, you’ll have to link the Water-producing extractor to the refiner, and then link the refiner to a launch pad to send the Oxygen to the spaceship.

One refiner can only support one extractor, so if you want to speed up the process, you’ll have to set up more refiners and extractors.

Once the quest is complete, click on the yellow quest icon on the left, and it will mark the completion of Sector 1.
