The areas beyond the Harvest Yard in Starsand Island are tricky, and you need a lot more than food to traverse them. To mine valuable ore, you will need to craft the impact hammer. You will also repair the waterwheel to reach the final area in Moonlit Forest. You also need to find echo beans and eldergrains for your senior explorer trials. Intermediate Explorer Trial
Talk to Bruce after initiating the trial with Zephyria. You need to get some alloy and starflare cores for him. To craft Alloy at the furnace, you need gold, iron and copper ingots. To make starflares core, you need Primorite and Coal.
Gold ores and Primorite ores can be mined with an impact hammer, and the blueprint for that can be obtained at the general store. You can find gold nodes in the area just beyond Crystalith hideout, and Primorite can be mined in Mural Valley.
To craft the Impact Hammer, you need to craft Radiant crystals along with some other materials that you are familiar with. You can craft them at the Gear Smith station after purchasing the blueprint from the general store. Give the materials to Bruce and play a small mini-game to complete the quest.
How To Activate The Waterwheel
Start the Senior Explorer certification trial. To explore the harvest island further, you need to craft the water arrow to grow the vines, similarly to how you previously used the fire arrow to destroy them. Make sure to hit the root of the stump to nurture it. Though if you consider yourself athletic enough, you can just use your rollerblades to jump across while accelerating.
Keep progressing deeper into the Harvest Yard until you see the water wheel in question. You first need to free two spirits before you attempt to activate the waterwheel using the bearings. The first spirit is in a grave crystal in an area with plenty of ores, which you can reach by walking on a vine.
The other one is trapped in a bubble near the waterwheel. You can free it using an arrow or a slingshot. You need magnetite, gold, and primorite to repair it. You will reach the Grain Haven area, and you can also access the Darkwater Shore area near the waterwheel as well. Grab the clue which Zephyria asked for, and return to him.
Where To Find Echo Beans And Eldergrains
Before you start the Expert Explorer certification quest, you need to prepare enough, and Youfang will help you do that in the Senior Exploration Trial in Starsand Island.
Youfang will ask you for some echo beans and eldergrains. You can find some eldergrains around the entrance of the Harvest Yard. Progress further into the Grain Haven area, and you will reach Homeward Trail. You will find some echo beans here. You can recognize them with their glowy purple tint,
Return to Yaofang and give him the ingredients. Report back to Zephyria, and you can then tackle the final area in Moonlit Forest.
You will also get a recipe for a crossbow, which you can craft using premium wood, gold wire, and an iron sheet. You can get premium wood by breaking White Fig trees with a machete. Gold Wire is crafted at the Gear Smith.
