Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War Walkthrough Part 1 – Human Missions

Starship Troopers Ultimate Bug War Human Missions

Seeing Starship Troopers receiving a video game in 2026 is nostalgic, considering how old the franchise actually is. Ultimate Bug War provides a double campaign with Human and Bug missions, adding uniqueness and versatility to the gameplay. Check out the game’s Steam page for further information.

And here, I will provide you with a complete walkthrough of the game from start to finish, beginning with the Human missions.

Human Mission 1: Basic Training

Basic Training for Samantha.

You take control of Samantha, a novice who’s here to train and save civilians from bug invasions. In the field, there are three stages that you must complete:

  • Course: A tutorial that shows you the ropes of movement. Jump, sprint, crouch, and use ziplines across the fields to understand how it works.
  • Tactical: Head to the table and pick up a weapon. Shoot the bugs replica and throw a resupply flare when low on ammo. Additionally, a Tactical Support Flare will be given to the player to call for help from above. Always remember to keep a distance as the jets drop bombs.
  • Range: Take your weapon and defeat all the enemies before you. Throwing grenades is a bit tricky, so make sure to calculate where they will drop.

Once the training is complete, head to the CTF objective and go through the field to enter a Capture The Flag simulation. Use everything you have learned to clear it, and then prepare for your first real mission against the bugs.

Human Mission 2: Operation Payback

Entering Operation Payback.

Touch down on the ground and head towards the main field. Your main objective is to clear out the Landing Zone for other troopers; shoot down any bug you see moving.

When the Landing Zone is clear, move to the next area to find three new objectives. First, get to Flak Bugs objective; don’t get too close to the bugs or they’ll overwhelm you.

Flak Bugs

Blue Flare With Friendlies.

Get to the objective’s mark and collect three satchels to destroy Flak Bugs. There’s no map provided to you in the game, so it completely depends on your location.

Three Flak Bugs are located in different areas, and getting to them can be a hassle; find the ascending paths to reach them. Get near the bug and plant a satchel. Step back and watch the fireworks, blowing them to bits.

Crashed Dropship

Fighting Centurion.

To complete the Crashed Dropship objective after Flak Bugs, follow the marker to find a dropship covered in flames and surrounded by enemies.

Defend the dropship with your allies until help arrives. Additionally, reloading can be done faster by pressing the button at the right time. Look at the bottom right to see when to press the reload button again.

Clear the area until a special armored bug named Centurion arrives in the field. Take it down to complete the objective; use resupply flare regularly. Now, move towards the Plasma Bugs Objective.

Plasma Bugs

Shooting Tactical Nuke At The Plasma Bugs.

As soon as you reach the objective’s location, follow the blue flares to assist Romeo Squad and retrieve the Nuke Launcher. Shoot all the bugs blocking the path, and after retrieving the designated weapon, aim at the giant Plasma Bugs.

Once the objective is done, fall back and ride the M7 Razorback.

Mission Abort

Bug Wave.

From here, the Mission Abort quest will start. Use the M7 Razorback to get into the cave and save Ethan; it consumes fuel per second, so make haste. Still, Ethan doesn’t survive, and now you have to survive until help arrives.

After defeating two Centurions, help arrives. Aboard the dropship to end the level.

Human Mission 3: Operation Razorwire

Entering Operation Razorwire.

The third human mission takes place in a vacation area where bugs have begun an invasion. First, go for the Resort objective.

Last Resort

The Train Station.

At the resort, pick up all available Satchel charges. Take them to the three Flak Bugs at different locations and blow them up to help the ships.

Once all the Flak Bugs are destroyed, clear out the two landing zones. Both zones are covered with the giant Archer bugs; defeat them to complete the objective.

End of The Line

Electric Gates.

Visit the Monorail station to activate and defend it until the power is back on. The station will be protected by electric fences, but it doesn’t take long before the bugs break through them.

Get on the turret near the staircase and start shooting them down. Hold the position until two Centurions arrive. Defeat them to complete this objective.

Sun’s Out, Guns Out

The Tanker Digging Up.

This objective comprises two different locations: Sierra and Tango Outposts. Reach the Tango Outpost first and collect the Pulse weapon cache. Use the E-88 to beat all Centurions covering the base to complete the first phase.

Visit the Sierra Outpost after clearing Tango, and activate all the defence mechanisms. Hold and guard the outpost with the turret until a Tanker digs up in the base. It’s going to be an easy fight with the E-88 pulse rifle. Defeat the bug to finish the objective.

Incommunicado

Uploading Data.

For the final objective, get to the Setcom Tower and upload all the data Troopers have gathered during the mission. Activate the tower and defend your position until the transfer is complete.

Once it’s done, wait for the dropship to arrive and board it to end the mission.

Human Mission 4: Operation Obsidian

Operation Obsidian’s Dam.

Operation Obsidian revolves around securing three major locations. Start with the Power Plant as it’s the closest one to your location.

Power Trip

Defending The Dam.

Reach the Power Plant and activate its power. However, since it’s already overrun with bugs, find the gate’s access and close it. One is on the ground floor, and the other is on the second.

After closing the gates, head to the Power Plan’s central area and defend it from bugs. Deal with all of them to complete the objective, and then move towards the Silo Base.

Ready, Set, Boom

Silo Malfunctioning Lock.

In the Silo Base, activate the missiles and prepare for them to take off. However, three of the locks are stuck and need to be manually opened. Shoot their red locks, and start the fueling process.

Defend the area while the missiles are being fueled. As soon as the speaker announces its completion, get to the missile control panel and launch them.

End of The Line

A Train.

At the Monorail Station, destroy four of the Arachnid nests. If you don’t want to waste your ammo, throw a grenade to destroy them immediately.

With the nests destroyed, free the MI Troopers from the blocked rail and defend your position. Defeat two Tiger bugs and wait for the dropship to land.

Dammed if You Do

Missile Blast Radius.

The dropship will fly you to a Hydroelectric Dam. There, defend the gates from a tremendous amount of Bugs; use Resupply Flare whenever you’re low on health or ammo.

Keep defending yourself until the missiles you launch from the Silo Base arrive. See the big red circles? They show the missile blast radius, so stay away from it.

Wait until the evacuation dropship arrives, and then board it to complete the mission.

Human Mission 5: Operation Tourniquet

Entering Tourniquet.

Operation Tourniquet drops you in a hot zone full of Bugs, and your primary objective is to survive and leave the dropship crash site. Get to the objective to destroy a wall blocking your path, but you don’t have any satchel charges right now.

Follow the path and use the zipline leading to another platform. Pick the satchel charge from there and return to the wall to blow it up.

Dropship Down

Area Before The Park.

Now that you’ve crossed the wall, follow the path into the marked area. Once you reach the main grounds of Buenos Aires, three new objectives will appear in different locations.

A Walk in The Park

Satchel Charges.

Be prepared to destroy three Flak Bugs and numerous Bug Nests. Since you don’t have satchel charges to destroy the Flak Bugs, find them around the area; look for red flares, which indicate a weapon cache.

Put the satchel charges on the bugs and destroy the Bug Nests with either guns or grenades to complete the quest.

Home Advantage

At The Stadium.

Before entering the stadium, make sure to stock up on ammo, as its entrance is covered with bugs. Shoot your way inside, and activate the four loudspeakers to create a massive distraction.

If a bug named Mine Jumper appears, take a step back and then shoot it to avoid damage as it explodes. Prepare to defend the entire stadium as the loudspeakers do their job.

Two Tankers will dig up from the ground, and defeating them completes this objective.

Troubled Water

The Bridge.

Thanks to the loudspeakers, most of the bugs have been put to rest. However, the bridge is still being overrun. Head towards the bridge and defend its entrance.

But that’s not enough. A horde of bugs rushes to the bridge from the other end, so enter and defend it before they can invade the city again. Wait until the air support arrives, and return to the entrance to avoid the blast radius.

Derailed

Surviving Bug Wave.

Now, Yanice, the group’s communicator, is stuck in the metro station with other Troopers and requires assistance; make haste, as a horde of bugs is headed towards them.

Get to the metro station and defend both of its entrances. For the final push, a horde of bugs coming from the park will swarm the station. Survive the ambush, and head inside the Metro Station to complete this mission.

Human Mission 6: Operation Morpheus

Leveled Metro Station.

The Metro Station is leveled, and our allies’ lives remain at stake. Cross the huge gap with the train to your left to move past the tunnels. To get past the boulders that cover the tunnel’s exit, get on the platform to your right and jump through the small hole.

Ghost Town

Fighting Bugs in The Dark.

Reaching the other side completes the first part, “Shafted.” Visit the Victory Plaza for the Ghost Town objective, and defend it until the lockdown initiation is complete.

When the wave ends, head inside the marked building and pick up the Veteran Rifle; get ready for an ambush in the dark. A red flare will flash in intervals to show you the controlled troopers. Take them down to complete Ghost Town.

Infestation

Destroying Bay Bridge.

The second major objective is located in the Sewers. Get there and prepare to battle a massive bug infestation. Destroy bug eggs in three different areas, and this will infuriate an unknown presence that growls louder every time you clear a bug field.

Minimum Safe Distance

The Brain Bug.

The city is in danger of being overrun by bugs as they manage to cross the Bay Bridge. Pick up the satchel charges near the bridge and plant them on sensitive spots to destroy them.

Get away from the bridge as soon as the charges are set, and wait for them to blow up. Suddenly, the unknown presence’s growling grows louder.

This Town Ain’t Big Enough For The Both of Us

Entering P Planet.

Reach the FEDNET HQ and locate the source of growling. Once you get there, the Brain Bug will show up, and it’s time for a bitter showdown.

Dodge all its attacks. Pick up the weapons nearby and beat it to death. With this, the mission will come to an end.

Human Mission 7: Operation Seeker

Climbing Up The Excavator.

Defeating the Brain Bug led to a massive drop in bug infestation throughout the world. But the Troopers’ job doesn’t end here. Now, we’re at Planet P. Reach the Forward Command Center and protect it from Arachnids.

After defeating two Centurions, exit the command center and get to the Quarry.

Deep Clean

A Zipline.

Activate Excavator A’s Cutting Saw from its top, and survive the bug ambush. Wait for the saw to complete its round, which completes the first objective.

Plasmaphobia

Shooting Tactical Nuke at a Plasma Bug.

Move towards Excavator B and activate it to expose the Plasma Bugs’ nest. Wait for the process to complete. When the Plasma Bug is exposed, pick up the Tactical Nuke and blast away.

Head to the second control panel to reactivate the Cutting Saw and expose the other Plasma Bug nest. Repeat the process to complete this objective.

Bang For Your Buck

Surviving a Bug Horde.

The third objective is located in the Munitions base, where doors are malfunctioning. Destroy their locks and get inside the base to defeat all the bugs.

When the base is secure, close the rear gate and activate both of the turrets to stop all the bugs from swarming it.

Questionable Research

Standing in T he Wild.

For the final objective, reach the research compound to call in an evacuation dropship to leave the planet. If you’re having trouble beating the bugs, pick up an Electric Pylon for support.

Human Mission 8: Operation Slayer

The Assassin Bug’s Next.

The final human mission continues the Questionable Research objective that asks you to activate three pylons gates. Once that’s done, head to the bug caves and pick up satchel charges to destroy it.

Return to the pick-up point to remotely detonate the charges.

Scotch On The Rocks

Bug Nest With Eggs.

For the second objective, reach the Whiskey Outpost and destroy all bug nests. Then, secure the outpost by defeating the Tanker and surviving a huge bug wave; step away from the field to avoid being caught in the Tactical Support blast zone.

Power-Up

Entering Bug Cave.

Get to the Solar Array to realign its mirrors to bring back power to the bases. Now wait until it charges up as you defend the array from bugs.

And this completes the third objective of Operation Slayer.

The Assassin

Battling All Assassin Bugs.

Suddenly, the research station calls everyone in distress, reporting a bug opening in Bug City. Head towards the station and drop down into the Assassin Bug’s layer.

Keep following the openings to find the Assassin Bug and defeat it. Head deeper into the nest to find satchel charges and destroy the entire cave to restore peace on Planet P.

Make haste as you exit the cave and board the dropship to complete the Human Missions.
