Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough of Stonemachia, Village of Stone.
Stonemachia takes you on the journey of a chess piece, the pawn, who aims to reach the heavens while fighting angels along the way. You can transform into other chess pieces, and throughout your journey, many challenging fights await you. For more information, head over to its Steam page.
The game gets increasingly challenging as you progress further. We have already covered the first two areas, so this guide will now provide you with a walkthrough of the third area, Village of Stone, in Stonemachia.

Stonemachia – Village of Stone Walkthrough

As you reach the Village of Stone, move ahead, and there will be a chessboard for you to level up. From the chessboard, you need to head north, but first go left, defeat the stone door-shaped enemy, and pick up the giant feather. This feather will change the environment a bit, but do note that it is necessary for a boss fight that will come ahead.
If you don’t pick up the feather, just ahead, you won’t have an interaction with an NPC, and then you won’t be able to get to the area that leads to a pretty interesting boss fight.

Once you have picked up the feather, continue on the path (north of the chessboard) and keep heading north. Eventually, you will have to fight some strange enemies. Do not lock onto them and wait for one of them to perform a smash attack. It is the only attack they use, so perform a parry, and all of them will be blown away. Use that opportunity to damage them and repeat this process until they are defeated.
Note: If the path ahead is not open for you, then you will have to make your way around it. Head back and go up the stairs. Then follow the path ahead, and you will notice a downward path in front of you. Do not go there. Instead, head right and go up the stairs while defeating the enemies along the way. Once you reach the top, simply parry the enemy at the end once, and it will fall down. After that, jump down, and you will reach the area that was previously locked. However, if you picked up the Feather earlier, the area will most likely already be open for you.

Once you have defeated them, talk to Barachiel standing right next to the tree and select the first option. Then head up the platform and use the ladder to climb upward.
Explore The Village Of Stone

There are going to be some enemies at the top and several carts traveling along the road. You can fight the enemies or ignore them and head to the far-right side of the area. Make sure to avoid getting hit by the carts because you will lose health if they run into you.
Note: After reaching the top where the carts are moving, continue heading right, and you will spot an enemy dumping water down from above. You need to defeat this enemy in order to unlock a path leading to one of the bosses in this area. Make sure to take it out as you make your way toward the far-right side, where another boss fight awaits.

Keep moving right, and when you reach a dead end, head left and go down the stairs. Then take a right, climb up the stairs, and enter the painting. As you enter the painting, you will reach a new area, Country Path, and you will now have to defeat a boss.
Defeat Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian

The name may suggest that this is going to be a trio boss fight, but do not worry, because it is actually a solo boss. This boss has three heads that combine and separate throughout the fight. However, the health bar remains the same.
The fight starts with the boss performing a tail attack, which in this case is more like a head attack from the final head. Then it will most likely perform a slam attack that deals heavy damage but is very easy to parry.

When the boss separates its heads, the left and right heads will attack you individually. Once it combines again, it will merge sideways and rush toward you. This move can be dodged quite easily.
The boss can also become vertical and perform a slash attack. After you have dealt enough damage, the boss will attach the three heads together in a triangular formation and shoot lasers from each head. This attack can be avoided simply by jumping, so close the distance, attack the boss, and jump right when the lasers reach you. It also has a shockwave attack, which, once again, can be dodged simply by jumping.
Get Back To The Village Of Stone

Once you have defeated the boss, move ahead, enter the building, head up the stairs, and go inside to return to the Village of Stone. Once you are back, move ahead and jump down from the bridge. From there, head right, and you will reach the boss arena.
As you selected the first option while talking to Barachiel earlier, there will be an altar of The Behemoth. Break the altar, and then you will have to fight Doorknocker Angel.
Defeat Doorknocker Angel

If you want to fight this boss alone, do not break the altar. This way, The Behemoth will not appear to help you. However, keep in mind that Doorknocker Angel is extremely agile and deals massive damage. It can take down The Behemoth in a fairly short amount of time, but the monster will still put up a solid fight.
The Behemoth will do its part and deal a considerable amount of damage to the boss. Do note that Doorknocker Angel has an attack where it transforms and then shoots a laser around itself in a full 360-degree area. Also, note that this boss throws its weapon toward you quite often, so make sure to watch out for those attacks.

It can also perform overhead slams and normal slashes, neither of which should be too difficult to parry. Once the boss is defeated, head up the stairs, and you will find a chessboard. Level up and then head right to open the gate.
After opening the gate, head in the opposite direction, and you will find Derasin. Talk to her and then continue ahead. Barachiel will also be ahead, so talk to it and select the first option to have the upper hand in the upcoming boss fight.
Giovanni’s Quest

Follow the path to the left, and you will find an NPC named Giovanni. Talk to him, head back, and from the chessboard go straight ahead. Head down the stairs, climb down using the ladder, climb the stones to the north, and then go up the stairs. Make sure Giovanni is following you.
Follow the path to the right while defeating the enemies, and then defeat the stone door-shaped enemy to unlock the path ahead. Then continue forward, defeat the enemies, head back, and interact with the giant feather. You will then be teleported to a new area, Dumo of The Walling.
Dumo Of The Walling

Once you are in the Dumo of The Walling, level up using the chessboard and then defeat all of the enemies ahead. Then, using the wooden platform, climb upward and defeat even more enemies.
Once you are up, defeat the enemy on the right side and then head left while defeating the rest of the enemies. Keep following the path, and eventually you will reach an NPC. From there, head right and fall down. Move ahead a little, and you will have to defeat a mini-boss.

This boss mainly has only one moveset. It will swing both of its arms one by one, so parrying it should be pretty simple. Just get used to the rhythm and note that the last hit in the combo is going to be very delayed. Parry the complete combo and then perform your own attacks to defeat this enemy. Do note that, mid combo, the mini boss will do one delayed attack, and then the other one will be at the end of the string.
After defeating the mini-boss, the path ahead will open; proceed forward, and a boss fight will be triggered.
Defeat Cleric Uziel

The boss starts the fight with bite attacks that can be parried easily. After parrying, spam the attack button, but stay on guard because it will perform a very delayed slam attack. The attack may seem like another bite attack at first, but while the boss charges, two hand-shaped objects will appear and slam down on you.
As soon as you see them coming down, perform a parry and continue fighting the boss. Eventually, the boss will go down, but that was only its shell. The real boss fight starts after that, so get ready.
It has some AoE attacks as well as close-range ones. Keep an eye on the sword it summons because attacks from the sword will mostly be sweeping attacks. Uziel also has a bite attack that is much faster than the one from its previous form, so be wary of that.

While the boss performs the sword sweep attack more often, it also has other combos, so do not expect the sweep attack every single time. Regarding the AoE attacks, they are fairly manageable. Just do not step into the red circles, and you will be safe.
This boss fight is going to be difficult, so if you are having a tough time defeating Uziel, there is the Altar of Behemoth in the middle of the boss arena. Destroy it to summon the creature, and the fight will become much more manageable.
Head Back To Derasin

After you have defeated the boss, head to the red fog gate, and then you will exit the castle. Previously, you went left to find Giovanni, but now head right, and then go right again. There you will find a chess piece, and upon defeating it, you will get another armor set.
Once you have won the fight, the path ahead will unlock. Head forward, and further ahead, you will find the fog gate that leads to the next area.
