Sunken Engine is a ship repair simulation game, where you must keep the business you inherited alive. Restore your father’s old shipyard. Each arriving ship carries a dark mystery to be solved. Use different items like a garbage bin, a cleaning brush, and a scraping spatula to clean the shipyard and ships.
To get your first upgrade in Sunken Engine, focus on completing the initial ship repair and cleaning tasks to earn money. Make sure to complete the Prologue in Jeremiah’s Shipyard. Continue accepting contracts from the Fax machine and clean the ships to earn money to purchase the first upgrade in Sunken Engine.

Interact with the NPC after cleaning the ship in every contract to complete it. You can then use this money to buy components from the shop, which are required for the upgrades.
Once you have the necessary components, you will need to use the renovation table to craft the upgrade itself. Take the collected items, like barnacles and seashells, to the bazaar to fulfill customer orders. This will earn you the money needed for future upgrades.
Go to the shop or market for the components required for your first upgrade. These might include items like light bulbs, nails, or wood. Use the renovation table to craft your desired upgrade after collecting the components.
Once you complete the Prologue, you need to accept more contracts from the Fax Machine to earn more money.
Upon completing the Prologue, you will get a new mission that you can see on the top left side of the screen. However, Buy Your First Upgrade remains the same till you acquire it. Move out of The BOOey Yard and see if you get any new customers at the bazaar.
Check the order list to see what they require. Make sure to have 6x Oyster and 1x Starfish. Use the basket and collect the required items in it from the storage, and place it on the table. Interact with the customer and press the Proceed to Payment option to gain money.
The other customer will require 6x Oyster and 2x Starfish. If you don’t have them, take the contract from the Fax Machine. While cleaning this boat at the BOOey yard, you will reach level 2. You can now access the skill tree to unlock new abilities at the Renovation Table.
Collect the Oyster and Starfish and put them in the storage in the bazaar to sell to the customers.
Once you have the required materials, use the basket and place them on the table to sell them to the customer. Then another customer will arrive who will require 1x Starfish, so sell it if you have.
Approach the Fax Machine to get another contract. Completing this quest will reward you with $74.
Go to the BOOey Yard and wait for the ship to arrive. In the meantime, you can approach the renovation table and find what it’s offering.
Anyways, approach the ship and clean it to complete the contract. Complete all the other requests from the Fax Machine to gain enough money to buy the First Upgrade.
On Day 3, your sanity has been harmed. Your Sanity has levels: Normal, Scared, Terrified, Insane, and Madness. Each level brings different effects. Be careful when dealing with strange things or when they deal with you. The Pine is your only tool to calm your nerves early on. Don’t hesitate to use it when your sanity starts slipping.
The door will be knocked once you’re in BOOey Yard. Open the door and there’ll be no one there. Select the “Look at the forest…maybe something is there, hidden in the dark”. Call out: “Who’s there?” Retreat quickly and slam the door shut.
Move to the bazaar to see if any customers are waiting. Once you have $1,500, you interact with the Renovation table to get your first upgrade in Sunken Engine. The first upgrade is the Deck Length, which enhances the deck length and allows you to accept bigger ship jobs.
You can begin fishing now by sitting in the fishing chair. Cast your rod into the sea and wait for the bite. Once the rod starts shaking, begin to pull it in. Some fish are more dangerous than others, so watch out for the red zones.
