Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for the first five chapters of Swan Song. Swan Song is a beautiful game set inside a music box where your goal is to help the swan navigate various platforms. Each puzzle tests your skills by giving you complete freedom over the Swan’s movement, which can be manipulated using different types of notes on the music sheet. Tutorial
Begin by picking up the key and putting it inside the music box to start your tutorial. Once the key is inside the box and the box is opened, click on the key to move the swan across the platforms.
For the next level, wind the key once again to move the swan across the platforms. The third level is where the game tests you with a puzzle.
Pick up the note inside the drawer and place it on the second circle in the yellow line of the music sheet. Next, click on the key to make the swan move, and the platform moves down because of the note that you placed before.
In the next level, pick up the note and place it on the third circle in the pink line of the music sheet. This allows the platform to move rightward when you wind the music box and makes it possible for the swan to reach the other side. Read the letter inside the music box in the next level to finish up the tutorial section of Swan Song.
Chapter 1
Use the key to start the first chapter. Hear the tape inside the music box first to learn more about the story, and then use the key one more time on the box to start your first puzzle of this chapter.
You’ll be working with two notes now. Start by placing the first note on the first circle in the green line of the music sheet. Next, place the second note on the third circle of the pink line and wind the music box to make the swan get across.
In this section, place the first note on the third circle in the green line and the second note on the second circle of the yellow line in the music sheet. Use the key on the music box to get the swan to move to the other side.
Both platforms in this level are colored the same. So both of these platforms will move when a note is struck on the music sheet corresponding to the color. In order to solve this puzzle, place the first note on the second circle in the blue line, and the second note on the fourth circle in the blue line of the music sheet to progress.
The game now challenges you with three notes and is slightly increasing the difficulty level. Actually, the puzzle is very simple. Place the first two notes on the first and second circles in the green line, and place the last note on the third circle in the pink line to solve this puzzle.
Interact with the key items inside the box in the next level and wind the key to proceed. The game now introduces wider notes that cover two circles at once. Place the wider note on the last two circles in the pink line of the music sheet and wind to the key to reach the other side.
In the next level, put the wider note on the first two circles of the blue line. Next, place the small note on the last circle in the yellow line and interact with the key to solve this puzzle.
You’ll have to work with a wide and a small note again. Put the wider note on the last two circles in the green line, and the small note on the third circle in the blue line to get the swan to the other side safely.
In this level, place the wider note on the first two circles in the pink line and the small note on the third circle of the blue line to solve the puzzle. Press the key to progress. Interact with the key items in the next section and wind the key again to continue.
Now it is time to use three notes to solve the puzzle. Place the first small note in the first circle in the blue line, and the second small note inside the second circle of the green line. Next, place the wider note in the last two circles of the yellow line of the music sheet to solve this puzzle.
There are two wide notes in this level. Put the first wide note on the second and third circles of the blue line, and the second wide note on the first two circles of the yellow line inside the music sheet. Wind the key to make the swan move across the platforms.
Start by placing the wider note in the first two circles of the pink line of the music sheet in this section. Next, place the first small note on the second circle of the green line and the second small note on the last circle of the pink line to get across.
This is the last puzzle of the first chapter, and you should start by placing the first wide note on the first two circles of the blue line. Next, place the second wide note on the second and the third circles of the green line. Lastly, put the small note on the last circle of the pink line. Interact with the letter inside the box after this puzzle to finish the first chapter.
Chapter 2
Use the key on the music box to fire up the second chapter. Interact with the tape inside the box to learn more about the story, and then use the key again to start your first puzzle of this chapter.
Rotating platforms are introduced in the first puzzle. Place the first note on the second circle of the blue line and the second note on the last circle of the pink line to solve this puzzle.
In this level, put the first note on the last circle of the green line and the second note on the third circle of the yellow line. Interact with the key to move the swan across the platforms.
The wide note makes a return, so pick it up and place it on the second and third circles of the green line. Next, place the small note on the last circle of the pink line to align the music sheet with the platform movements.
Pick up the first note and place it on the second circle of the blue line. Next, drop the second note on the third circle of the green line and the third note on the last circle of the yellow line to create a safe path for the swan. Interact with the camera in the next section and wind the key to proceed.
The game introduces long notes that cover two lines simultaneously inside the music sheet. Place the long note on the third circle of both the blue and green lines. Lastly, place the small note on the last circle of the green line to solve this puzzle.
In this section, put the long note on the second circle of the blue and green lines inside the music sheet. Next, place the wide note on the last two circles of the pink line to allow the swan to reach the other side.
Again, place the long not on the second circle of the blue and green lines. Put the first small note on the last circle of the green line and the second small note on the third circle of the yellow line to solve this section.
Pick up the wider note first and place it on the first two circles of the blue line inside the music sheet. Next, place the long note on the third circle of both the green and pink lines. Interact with the key items in the next section and use the key to proceed.
Pick up the long note first this time and place it on the first circle of the green and pink lines. Now pick up the wide note and put it on the second and third circles of the pink line to create a safe path inside the music box.
In this section, put the wider note on the first two circles of the yellow line. Next, place the first small note on the third circle of the pink line and the second small note on the last circle of the yellow line to help the swan reach the other side.
For this puzzle, place the long note on the first circle of the green and pink lines inside the music sheet. Now, place the first small note on the third circle of the blue line and the second small note on the last circle of the pink line to solve the puzzle.
You have finally arrived at the last puzzle of the second chapter. Place the first small note on the third circle of the green line and the second small note on the second circle of the yellow line. Lastly, put the wide note on the last two circles of the pink line to get across. Interact with the key items in the next section to finish up this chapter.
Chapter 3
Start up the third chapter and interact with the tape in the first level, and then use the key to proceed. A new enemy is introduced, known as the hunter, in this section. The hunter attacks with the rhythm you create, so you need to be more careful. Place the note on the second circle of the blue line to safely cross.
The hunter strikes back, but it is marked by the pink color. Place the two notes on the first and third circles of the pink line inside the music sheet, respectively. Wind the key to make the swan reach the other side.
For this puzzle, firstly pick up and place the small note on the first circle of the blue line. Next, put the long note on the second circle of the blue and green line.
Pick up the long note this time and place it on the first circle of the green and pink lines inside the music sheet. Now, put the small note on the third circle of the pink line and use the key to solve the puzzle. Interact with the key items in the next section to continue.
Place the first small note on the first circle of the pink line and the second small note on the second circle of the green line in the music sheet. Interact with the key to get across.
The game introduces new notes that are both wide and long. Place the wide and long note in such a way that it covers the second circle on the green line and the third circle on the pink line. Next, put the small note on the second circle of the blue line to solve the puzzle.
Place the wide and long note over the second circle of the pink line and the third circle of the yellow line. Put the small note over the first circle of the yellow line to get across.
Pick up and place the first small note on the first circle of the pink line and the second small note on the second circle of the green line. Lastly, put the wide and long note over the third circle of the pink line and the second circle of the yellow line. Interact with the photo next to proceed.
In this section, put the long note over the first circle of the green and pink line in the music sheet. Next, place the wide note on the second and third circles of the green line. Interact with the key to get the swan to the other side.
Work with the small notes first. Place the first small note on the first circle of the green and the second small note on the first circle of the pink line. Now, pick up the wide and long note and put it over the last circle of the blue line, and the third circle of the green line.
Once again, put the two small notes in the first circles of the green and pink lines in this puzzle. However, place the wide and long note on the third circle of the green line and the second circle of the pink line.
This is the final puzzle of the third chapter. Place the first long note over the first circle of the blue and green lines. Put the second long note over the third circle of the pink and the yellow lines inside the music sheet. Place the small note on the second circle of the blue line to solve the puzzle. Interact with the key item next to finish up the chapter.
Chapter 4
Begin the fourth chapter, interact with the tape inside the music box, and use the key to start your first puzzle. The first puzzle is already solved for you, but the game wants to unveil a new mechanic. The music box key will now wind twice, and the music sheet plays out two times two, so get ready for harder puzzles.
For this puzzle, put the first small note on the second circle of the yellow line and the second small note on the third circle of the green line. Wind the key to make the swan reach the other side.
Place the small note on the first circle of the green line. Next, put the wide and long note over the third circle of the blue line and the last circle of the green line inside the music sheet.
In this section, place the wide note on the first two circles of the yellow line and the small note on the third circle of the pink line to proceed. Interact with the photograph inside the music box to proceed to the next level.
Start by placing the wide note on the second and third circles of the pink line, followed by putting the small note on the last circle of the green line. Interact with the key to progress to the next level.
In this puzzle, pick up and place the small note on the first circle of the blue line. Next, drop the long note over the third circle of the blue and green line to solve the puzzle.
Begin by placing the small notes first. Place the first small note on the first circle of the pink line and the second small note on the last circle of the yellow line. Next, put the wide note over the second and third circles of the green line to proceed.
In this section, put the long note on the second circle of the green and pink line. Now, place the first small note on the last circle of the blue line and the second small note on the last circle of the pink line. Interact with the key items that appear after the puzzle and use the key to proceed.
Pick up and place the long note on the third circle of the pink and yellow lines inside the music sheet. Next, place the wide and long note on the second circle of the green line and the first circle of the pink line.
Drop the long note over the first circle of the pink and yellow lines, followed by placing the first small note on the second circle of the pink line. Lastly, put the second small note on the last circle of the yellow line to help the swan get across.
For this puzzle, place the long note on the first circle of the pink and yellow line. Next, drop the first small note on the last circle of the pink line and the second small note on the third circle of the yellow line in the music sheet.
Start solving the final puzzle of this chapter by putting the wide note over the second and third circles of the blue line. Place the small note on the second circle of the green line and the long note over the last circle of the green and pink lines to solve the puzzle. Interact with the key item at the end to finish the fourth chapter.
Chapter 5
Start the fifth chapter and listen to the tape at the beginning. Use the key to proceed to your first puzzle of the chapter. Chapter 5 introduces rotating obstacles in Swan Song, which also move with the notes on the music sheet. For the first puzzle, just place the two small notes on the last two circles of the yellow line to reach the other side.
In this next section, place the first small note on the last circle of the blue line and the second small note on the second circle of the green line.
For your next puzzle, pick up and drop the small note on the first circle in the green line. Next, place the long note on the second circle of both the blue and green lines to solve the hurdle.
Place the two small notes on the first and third circles of the blue line. Drop the wide note over the first two circles of the pink line to get the swan to the other side. Interact with the key item that appears inside the box to learn more about the story.
You’ll be introduced to a fragile note in this level, which breaks after a single use and cannot be used during the second rotation of the key. Place the fragile note on the first circle of the blue line and the small note on the last circle of the pink line to proceed.
Place the fragile note on the first circle of the green line. Next, place the first small note on the second circle of the green line and the second small note on the third circle of the pink line to solve the puzzle.
Start by placing the fragile note on the second circle of the green line. Next, place the small note on the second circle of the blue line. Lastly, drop the long note on the last circle of the blue and green line to reach the other side.
In this section, place the fragile note on the third circle of the green line. Then, put the wide note over the first two circles of the blue line and the small note over the first circle of the pink line. Next, interact with the key items inside the box to continue.
For this puzzle, place the first fragile note on the second circle of the blue line and the second fragile note on the second circle of the yellow line. Now, place the small note over the first circle of the blue line and the long note over the first circle of the pink and yellow lines.
Start by placing the fragile note on the first circle of the green line. Next, place the small note on the first circle of the blue line, the wide and long note on the second circle of the pink line, and the first circle of the yellow line.
Drop the fragile note over the third circle in the pink line and the small note on the second circle of the blue line. Now, place the wide note on the first two circles of the green line to solve the puzzle.
You have arrived at the last puzzle of the fifth chapter. Begin by placing the first fragile note on the first circle of the green line and the second fragile note on the last circle of the pink line.
Next, place the small note on the last circle of the yellow line and the long note on the second circle of the pink and yellow lines to solve the puzzle. Interact with the key item next to finish the chapter.
