Syberia Remastered Walkthrough Part 2 – Barrockstadt

Welcome to the second part of our walkthrough for Syberia Remastered.

This walkthrough picks up right after Kate Walker leaves Valedilene on the wind-up Train with her new automaton companion, Oscar.

Barrockstadt Train Station

The chapter starts with Kate Walker inside the Train as it arrives at the Aviary-Train Station of Barrockstadt University. Go to the middle compartment of the Train and pick up the Mammoth Doll.

As you go to exit the Train, Oscar stops you and tells you that you need to wind up the Train once again. Unfortunately, he can’t seem to locate a winding mechanism for you to use.

Exit the Train and go down the left side to the platform.

Head up to the far end of the platform and click Leave at the end to reach a rocky area.

Continue moving forward till you reach an elevated platform. Kate Walker will note that it looks like the winding mechanism that you saw back in Valedilene.

Return to the Train Station and head toward your Train. Oscar will ask to speak with you.

Head inside the Train and talk to Oscar. He’ll tell you that the Rectors, the people in charge of the Barrockstadt University, want to talk to you.

Exploring the Train Station

Exit the Train, and this time go down to the platform on the right.

Go down, towards the screen, until you spot a ladder on your right. Try to use the ladder. You’ll note that the birds are in the way.

Go up towards the bridge. Cross the bridge and go right from the middle section. Continue following the path. You’ll spot an NPC on the left.

This is the Stationmaster. Talk to him and run through his dialogues.

Return to the bridge and cross it to reach the left section of the Train Station. Instead of leaving through the main door, go right, through the open door.

Go forward and down the stairs to spot a couple of Sailors on a boat. Speak with them and run through their dialogue.

You’ll learn that they can open the Barge and help get the train to the winding mechanism if you give them $100.

Inspect the table nearby and pick up the Hook.

Answering the Rector’s Summons

Return to the Train Station and exit through the main door to reach the Barrockstadt University. Continue up the staircase and enter the University Courtyard.

Check the door in the center. It seems like you’ll need an Egg to balance the scale. Back away for now and continue heading forward.

Enter the University through the main entrance.

Go left from the entrance and through the large red door at the end of the corridor to reach the Rector’s Office.

Speak with the Rectors. They’ll ask you to move the Train from the Station.

Run through all their dialogues. They’ll agree to give you $100 to commission the Sailor‘s help, but only if you fix the Bandstand in the Courtyard. Leave the Rector’s Office when you’re done.

Exploring Barrockstadt University

From the Rector’s Office door, head down to spot another red door on the side. This leads to the Library. Head inside.

Go down the stairs and inspect the empty table on the side.

Take the Bandstand Part 2 from the chair and the Amerzone Book from the table. Read the book.

Head up the stairs, and follow along the corridor by the shelves to spot a ladder. Interact with it.

Take the Mushroom Book and read it.

Return to the main halls of the University and go up the stairs left of the Mammoth Skeleton.

You’ll enter a Lecture Hall. Head down the stairs to the teacher’s desk and go left to find the Bandtsand Part 1. Exit the Lecture Hall.

From the Mammoth Skeleton in the center, head right, along the passage. Talk to the NPC standing here.

This is Cornelius Pons. Run through all his dialogue options. Choose the Give option to give him the Mammoth Doll.

Now you can enter through the red door here to reach the Lab.

Check the shelf beside the door inside the Lab. You’ll find the Barrockstadt Cylinder on a shelf. Pick it up.

Continue further into the Lab and interact with the first table on the left.

Pick up the Pliers and the bottle of Yangala Cola. Exit the University.

How to Find Sauvignon Berries

As you know already, to open the door to the Bandstand, you first need to find an Egg to balance the scale. Head back to the Train Station. As you exit the University, you’ll get a call from Edouard Marson.

Run all the way back to the Stationmaster after hanging up the phone.

Speak with him about the Sauvignon. He starts acting dodgy and walks away without giving you a clear answer.

Follow the Stationmaster as he makes his way to the bridge. Talk to him again about Sauvignon.

Kate will say Professor Pons sent you. But he still refuses to help.

Return to the University and talk to Cornelius Pons about the Sauvignon.

Talk to the Rectors and ask them about the Sauvignon after speaking with the professor. With no way out, the Rectors admit that there are, in fact, Sauvignon Plants in the Train Station Garden.

Return to the Stationmaster and confront him about the grapes. He’ll agree to open the Garden for you.

Follow him as he leads you to a large steel door.

Once he opens the gate, head inside.

Go to the far end of the Garden and interact with the shrubs.

Click on the berries to collect a Bunch of Sauvignon Grapes.

How to Fix the Bandstand

Return to the Train Station platform and make your way to the ladder that was blocked by the birds.

Interact with the Ladder and then use the Sauvignon Grapes.

The birds will be busy eating the grapes, and you can go up the ladder. Continue heading up till you reach a platform with a hanging metal bird. Interact with the bird.

Use the Pliers you found in the Lab to collect the Automaton Egg.

Exit the Train Station. The Stationmaster will stop you along the way and give you a Wine Bottle as an apology for not helping you sooner.

Return to the Bandstand and interact with the door. Use the Automaton Egg, then turn the wheel to open the door and head inside.

In the first room, you’ll find the Bandstand Part 3 on the ground by the door. Take it and then use the ladder to head down.

Examine the torn piece of paper on the wall.

This is the hint for a puzzle that you need to solve to fix the Bandstand. Note the position of red squares.

Interact with the Bandstand next.

Place the Bandstand Parts in the positions shown in the image above, and then pull the lever on the right. This will trigger a cutscene showing you that the Bandtsand is fixed.

Return to the Rector’s Office and choose the Money dialogue option. They’ll give you the promised $100 reward.

How to Open the Barge Lock

Leave the University and make your way back to the Sailors who agreed to help you for money. Talk to them, and they will toss you the Key to open the Barge lock.

Take the Sluice Key from the ground once the conversation ends.

Return to the main entrance of the Train Station, and you’ll get another phone call from Kate’s Mom.

Continue forward to spot a control panel up ahead. Interact with it.

Use the Sluice Key to open the lock at the bottom of the panel.

Use your phone to call the number shown on the sign, 2766-6742.

This triggers a small segment where you need to press a series of buttons on your phone as you talk to the automated Lock Operator. The numbers you need to press are #42*. But the operator tells you that the regional technician is unavailable.

Inspect the panel again and input the numbers 4, 2, and * to lower the water levels.

Once the Sailors sail into the station, interact with the panel again and choose 4, 1, and * to raise the water levels.

Head over to the Sailors and speak with them. Choose the Help dialogue option, and they’ll throw a chain to the platform.

Interact with the Chain and use the Hook you picked up earlier on it. This will trigger a cutscene where Kate Walker attaches the Chain to the Train, and the boat tows the Train towards the winding mechanism.

How to Wind The Train in Barrockstadt

Once the Train is in place, head toward the winding mechanism outside the station.

You’ll receive a call from Cornelius Pons telling you that he’s about to start his lecture. Once the conversation ends, Kate Walker will attend the professor’s lecture at the University.

Head to the Lab after the lecture. Pick up the Mammoth Doll and Pon’s Lecture from the table.

Return to the Train and go into the compartment.

Go to the middle room and interact with the pedestal. Use the Barrockstadt Cylinder to trigger another cutscene.

Place the Mammoth Doll on the table and speak with Oscar.

Exit the Train and go down the right side to reach the winding mechanism.

Interact with the control panel to wind the Train.

You’ll receive another phone call from Dan; things aren’t going well between you two. Return to the Train and speak with Oscar to set off.

How to Get The Exit Visa in Barrockstadt

The Train only moves a short way until it stops in front of the huge wall up ahead. Exit the Train and go down the right side.

Speak with Oscar at the Ticket Office. He asks you to get the Exit Visa.

Head through the steel door in the wall to go up.

You’ll receive a phone call from Olivia. After the conversation, continue heading along the path till you reach another door at the end. Go in.

Talk to Captain Malatesta inside and ask for the Exit Visa. He refuses to give it to you since it’s far too dangerous.

You can try looking through the Telescope and telling the Captain that it’s safe, but he’ll still refuse to give you the Visa.

Interact with the table. Use the Wine Bottle on the glass and then use the Yangala Cola.

Kate Walker will then ask the Captain to take the drink. Let the interaction play out, and the Captain will give you the Exit Visa once the conversation ends.

Head back to Oscar in the Ticket Booth and give him the Exit Visa. Take the Train Ticket.

Return to the Train and talk to Oscar to leave Barrockstadt.
