Winding the Train in Komkolzgrad

As always, the chapter begins with Kate Walker inside the Train. Exit the Train and move forward along the platform. Oscar will talk to you once you reach the engine.

He’ll tell you that the Train has unwound again and needs to be wound up before you can move on. Run through his dialogues.

After the conversation, head toward the Giant Automaton statue in the distance. You can scale the statue with the ladder at the base of its feet.

You’ll reach a Control Room at the top. But before you use the control panel, interact with the shelf above you. You’ll find the Komkolzgrad Cylinder, the Giant Automaton Drawing, and a Handle on the shelf.

Pick up the items and then interact with the control panel. Place the Handle from your inventory into the empty slot on the gearbox.

Move the Handle all the way to the right to move the Giant Automaton towards the Train. Then press the red button on the right to wind the Train.

Once that’s done, pull the Handle to the left position again. Exit the Control Station and go down to the Train Platform.

You’ll see a short cutscene of a shady automaton running away from your Train. Kate calls out, but it doesn’t stop. Something doesn’t feel right; head back to the Train to check on Oscar.

You’ll find Oscar on the bed in Kate’s room in the Train Compartment. Click on Oscar to remove the gag and run through his dialogue. The automaton that you saw running away stole Oscar’s Hands, and now you’re stuck in Komkolzgrad till you get it back.
How to Enter the Mine

After talking to Oscar, pick up the Blowtorch under the table in Kate‘s room.

You can use the Komkolzgrad Cylinder in the center pedestal in the middle room if you want. Exit the Train when you’re ready.

Head downwards, toward the screen, after getting off the Train. You’ll spot a lever on the ground on the left side of the screen. Use it to go down to the Mine.

You’ll receive a phone call from Dan as soon as you enter this place. Answer the call.

The Mine is dark, and you can’t move forward. Check the Control Panel on the right. Something is missing here.

Return to the Train Platform and head all the way back to the Giant Automaton Control Station. Set the Handle to the middle position on the Control Panel.

Exit the Control Station. You can jump to another building from the top platform.

Interact with the steel window. Then use your Blowtorch to open the way forward. Enter through the opening you created.

This takes you to a Storage Room. Interact with the shelf at the end of the room and pick up the Spark Plug.

Return to the Giant Automaton and set the Handle back to the first position. Then return to the Control Panel that you saw inside the Mine.

Place the Spark Plug into the empty slot and pull the handle to the right. This will turn on the lights in the Mine.

Head all the way to the end of the Mine to find an elevator. Use it to go up.
How to Find the Hand Bandit

Exiting the Mine takes you to a massive Factory. Head left and walk up the stairs to reach the Stage.

Interact with the automaton sitting in front of the Pipe Organ on the Stage.

These are Oscar’s Hands! But you can’t take them just yet. Click on the Screwdriver to pick it up.

Go back down the stairs and make your way back to the Mine‘s entrance. Go right and follow the path.

Interact with the ladder on your left.

Use your Screwdriver on the screws to remove the signboard.

Go up the ladder and enter the room at the top.

Talk to the automaton sitting in front of the monitors up ahead.

This is Serguei Borodine, the Director of Kokolzgrad, and the automaton responsible for stealing Oscar’s Hand. Run through his dialogues. He will only return the hands after he hears Helena Romanski sing.

He also says he has a shrine dedicated to the singer that he built. After the conversation, he drops a movable room that you can access downstairs.
Locating Helena Romanski

Exit the Director’s Office and head back down to the Factory. Continue forward along the path to find the room that the Borodine activated. Head inside.

This takes you to the shrine that Borodine mentioned. Note the three mannequins and the color of the dresses displayed on them: Red, Blue, and Purple. Interact with the chest at the far end of the room, opposite the vanity dressing table.

Rotate the dials on the chest to Red, Blue, and Purple, from left to right, to unlock it.

Take the item inside to collect Helena’s Fan Book. Read it.

You’ll find a name, Franck Malkovitch, on the 5th page of the fan book. Kate’s Mom mentioned his name when she called you back in the Voralberg Assembly Factory.

Use the phone to call Kate’s Mom and ask her about the singer. You’ll learn that Helena Romanski went to rest in a Spa in Aralbad.

Return to the Director’s Office and talk to Borodine about Aralbad. Choose the Mission dialogue option afterward.

He’ll tell you about a certain “Drunken Old Fool” in the Cosmodrome who can help you get to Aralbad.

Exit the office to get another call from Dan. After hanging up the phone, take the elevator outside the Director’s Office to reach The Cosmodrome.
How to Find The Space Pilot

Continue moving forward in the area. You’ll receive a phone call from Olivia.

Hang up the phone after the conversation and continue making your way through the Cosmodrome. Take the stairs to reach the upper level.

From here, head up the stairs to the elevated platform and go in through the door on the left, atop a small set of stairs.

You’ll find Boris, the Space Pilot, inside the room. Talk to him and run through all his dialogue options.

Take the Bottle of Vodka from the floor. He’ll walk off, visibly drunk, to get some air.

Once he leaves, inspect the shelf above the table to find the Machine Key and the XP25 Programme document.

Go back outside to trigger a short cutscene. Boris will walk towards the railing and fall off the other side, into a small container, and fall asleep.

Interact with the Control Panel up ahead.

Follow the steps below to wake up Boris:
- Use the Machine Key on the keyhole to activate the panel.
- Pull the center joystick to the left.
- Pull the left joystick up.
- Pull the middle joystick up.

Boris gets a nice cold bath and sobers up. Run down and speak with him twice.

Choose the Aralbad dialogue option. He’ll tell you that the Airship is programmed to take people there from the Cosmodrome.

Go through the large door past Boris to enter the Launch Pad area.
How to Enter the Airship

Head right from the Launch Pad to go up to the Airship Launch Platform.

You’ll find the Airship docked up ahead. Interact with the door, but Kate Walker mentions that she needs a key.

Return to Boris outside the Launch Pad and talk about the Airship. He’ll hand you the Airship Key.

Go back to the Airship and use the Airship Key to unlock the door. Head inside.

Interact with the lever and try to pull it. It doesn’t work, but you see Boris making his way to the Launch Pad.

Exit the Airship and head down. Speak with Boris in the Launch Pad. You’ll find him in the left section of the area.

He agrees to help you if you help him get to the stars. As luck would have it, there’s a giant Rocket Ship docked in the Launch Pad. But you need to figure out how to power it.
How to Help Boris Get To the Stars

Go up the steel staircase on the left after talking to Boris.

You’ll find yourself in a Control Room. Inspect the Computer in the middle.

Take the Operator Console Key near the screen on the left. Use it to power the Control Panel.

Open the lid on the right.

Connect the same colored wires one at a time.

Once that’s done, interact with the lever on the right side of the screen on the Control Panel. This turns the screen on.

Click the left button below the screen. Wait for the light to turn green. Then press the second button. The Computer starts beeping, and you see the text “Blood Sample Required.“

Press the first button again. Then collect the item in the compartment beside the buttons. This gives you the Blood Tester.

Exit the Control Room and go speak with Boris again. He’ll give you some Blood for the Control Panel.

Return to the Control Room and insert the Blood Tester into the slot. When you press the second button, the Computer says that the Blood Sample is refused because of high Alcohol levels.

Interact with the Blood Tester slot. Kate Walker gives a drop of her own blood.

Click the second button again, and the Computer accepts it. Click the third button to trigger a cutscene.

Once the cutscene ends, press the fourth button to send Boris to the stars. Before getting on the Rocket Ship, Boris tells you that the Airship needs to be cranked. He also throws a Crank Handle down before he goes into the Rocket Ship.
How to Crank the Airship

Go back down to the Launch Pad and pick up the Crank Handle.

Make your way back to the area where you found Boris. There’s a set of stairs on the other side that you can use to go up.

Interact with the siren at the top and use the Crank Handle. This triggers another short cutscene.

Return to the Airship and interact with the lever. Pull the handle to set off towards Aralbad.
