Pirates
After leaving Hellawes with a stolen ship, you’ll encounter pirates. Velvet’s party and the pirates then meet on nearby land, where a pirate claiming to be the Reaper shows up.
It’s Eizen, a Malak. He’s the first mate of Van Aifread, the notorious pirate. Eizen proposes working together with Velvet. He’s aware that you’re headed for Loegres, and for that, you’ll have to go through the Gate of Vortigern.

Eizen then heads off inland. You’ll have to follow him and accept his help. Head into the cave ahead and keep going on the path until you find Eizen.
He’ll join you, but he also warns you that he brings bad luck to those around him. From here onward, Eizen has permanently joined your party.

He’ll tell you about his plan to breach the Gate of Vortigern. He suggests that the party infiltrate the gate and open it from the inside, while the Van Eltia, the pirate ship, will attack from the sea and pass through the gate in the meantime.

West Laban Tunnel
In the next section, take the exit on the right. Here, you’ll find that the path forks into two again. If you take the path heading to the right, you’ll find a treasure chest here. To progress ahead, you’ll have to take the left path.
There will also be a cutscene where it will be revealed that Number Two’s will has been sealed by the exorcist he was tethered to. It remains to be seen if he’ll be able to revive his personality and will in the future.

At the end of the next section, you’ll find a Turtlez merchant, as well as a save point. You can trade and enhance your equipment at these merchants inside dungeons.
From here, you’ll enter the final section from where you can exit the tunnel and arrive at the Burnack Plateau. Jump down from the cliff, and you’ll find the door leading into Vortigern.

Infiltrating Vortigern
A barrier protects the main gate, so you’ll have to find another way in. There’s a path on the left, which will lead you to another gate that isn’t protected by a barrier, but by just a few soldiers.
As you approach the soldiers, they’ll turn into Daemons, and you’ll have to defeat them to enter. As you head inside, you’ll find out that the entire gate is swarming with Daemons. Eizen mentions that the switch to open the gates will be on the upper floors of the Vortigern fortress.

Keep making your way deeper into Vortigern. You’ll soon find a soldier who will tell you that the door leading to the gate requires a key, and it is inside the control room. There’s another exit in the room that leads to the battleship.
You have to find the key leading to the gates, as well as destroy the battleship at the docks, so that the Van Eltia can safely sail through.

Control Room
The control room can be accessed by leaving from the exit on the left side of the map. You’ll come out in the open, and you’ll have to go over the planks to get to the other side.
Stay on the path, and you’ll shortly arrive at the control room. However, the control room’s door is locked, so you’ll have to find another way to enter.

Climb on the vines on the right side of the gate. Once you’re on top, you can jump on the other side of the control room.
Here, you’ll find a window with broken bars. You can get inside the control room from here. Now, you have to get back to the main hallway and take the stairs leading to the battleship.

The Battleship
Here, you’ll find two exits: a ladder and a door. The ladder leads to the battleship, but the path there is currently blocked by a boulder. You have to take the door in this part of the hallway.

Here, you’ll find a boulder that you can push out of the way. If you push this boulder, it will drop down on the other boulder below, and that will open up the path leading to the battleship.

Once the boulder is out of the way, keep going on the path until you encounter an exorcist. After a short battle, Rokurou will ask you to leave the exorcist to him and head to the battleship.
A cutscene will then reveal that Velvet and her allies take care of the enemies on the battleship and return to Rokurou, who has already defeated the exorcist.

Opening The Gate
After you’ve acquired the key from the control room and dealt with the battleship, you can head through the locked door in the main hallway.
Here, you’ll have to go up a couple of ladders until you reach the room at the top. There will be a lever here. There’s another lever on the other side of the tower, which is where you’ll have to go next.

Once both levers have been pulled, the Gate of Vortigern will open. Here, the soldier from before will show up, and he’ll turn into a fortress Daemon.
You’ll then enter a battle, and once you’ve defeated the daemon, a cutscene will be played.

In the cutscene, Velver’s party jumps down on Van Eltia from the top of Vortigern. Number Two wants to get his compass back, however, and it’s stuck under the Daemon.
Magilou’s cannon destroys the Daemon, but it’s able to push Number Two off the cliff. Velvet jumps after him, calling him Laphicet as she rescues him.

Once the ship has sailed safely away from Vortigern, the squad makes its way towards Loegres. Velvet also officially names Number Two as Laphicet, after her late brother. You’ll arrive at Port Zekson shortly.
