Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Thalassa: Edge of the Abyss.

Main Deck
On entering the ship, you will start in the Reception room on the Main Deck.
Clues in Reception
- Daily News Article (framed on wall)
- Signed Pamphlet (reception desk)
Move on from Reception to the unmarked Luggage Room.
Clues in the Luggage Room
- Empty case (blue case on top of a brown suitcase, on the floor)
- Cylinder (on cupboard blocking the door to the Telegraph Room)
Interact with the Cupboard to unblock the doorway, and then proceed to the Telegraph Room.
Clues in Telegraph Room
- Telegraph message (in telegraph machine)
In the Telegraph Room, pick up the Wax Roll Recorder. This will play the cylinder you found before, and add that as a clue (Hans Interview 1a).


Now interact with the Narrow Ceiling to enter the Main Hall.
Clues in Main Hall
- Warning sign (to the left on entering the Main Hall)
- Expedition display (to the left on entering the Main Hall), may be already seen
- Maria Scrapbook (on a low round table)
- “Jessie” Picture (in Maria Scrapbook)
- Secured display cases (any of the ropes that secure the large display cases in the Main Hall)
- Kaymar Portrait (photo floating to the left of the stairs)
- Erik Interview 1 (wax roll on the floor in front of a vase showcase)
- Carvings M&K (heart-shaped carving in the back of the main hall, next to a diagram titled “The Heart of SS Thalassa”)
Proceed through the back of the Main Hall into Isabel’s Office.
Clues in Isabel’s Office
- Isabel feature (framed on wall in office lobby)
- Missing records (clear the dirt on the glass cabinet)
- Ringbinder (on office desk)
- Mother daughter photo (on a desk near the door leading to the corridor)
- Leadership photo (framed on wall, opposite the door leading to the corridor)
Here, you should solve one of the Mysteries.
Mystery: The New Passenger
- How to identify this person?: “Jessie” picture
- What was her purpose?: Isabel correspondence
Proceed from Isabel’s Office into the corridor leading to the Galley. There’s nothing to do here, so proceed into the Galley.

Clues in Galley
- Kadri Interview 1a (wax roll in a drawer near the door to Maintenance)
- Strange vegetable (cow-painted vegetable floating alongside carrots and potatoes)
From the Galley, enter the Maintenance Hall, where you’ll find that you need something with which to open the hatch gate.
Return to the Galley and make your way to the Mess Hall.
Clues in Mess Hall
- Heroin bottle (floating bottle in northeast corner of the room)
- Notes about troubles (notepad on a chair to the south of the room)
- Jessie dictation 2 (wax roll in a satchel near a dining table to the south of the room)
You should now solve another mystery:
Mystery: Sudden Troubles
- Signs of Trouble 1: Secured display cases
- Signs of Trouble 2: Warning sign
- Who had to help?: Isabel

You can now unblock the debris blocking the door to the corridor between Isabel’s Office and the Galley. Do so and return to Isabel’s Office.
Head toward the left porthole to find a metal object (the wrench), which you can use to open the gate in the maintenance hall.
Return to the Maintenance Hall through the Galley and after unlocking the hatch, enter it. Go up the ladder to the right.
Officer Deck
You are now on the Officer Deck. Proceed forward.
Clues in Maintenance Shaft
- Unfinished reports (clipboard in a box on the floor)
- Guitar (on the floor)
Go down the ladder at the other end of the Maintenance Shaft. Continue under the obstructing pipe and up the stairs. Just before the door, you’ll find another clue:
- Kaymar Interview 1a (wax roll on second shelf from the top)
Proceed through the door and enter Storage 1A.
Clues in Storage 1A
- Hans Interview 1b (wax roll on second shelf from bottom)
Exit Storage 1a and proceed down the corridor. You can unblock the way to the Main Hall here, allowing you easier access to the Main Deck.
Now proceed to the Planning Room.
Clues in Planning Room
- Love poem (in trash bin)
- Theft report (notepad on a shelf in southwest corner of the room)
- Expedition progress (map and notes on desk near the porthole)
You can proceed in two mysteries now.
Mystery: The Expedition
- Info on mission progress: Expedition progress
Mystery: Jessie’s Missing Recordings 1
- Clues at the scene of the crime: Empty case
- How to identify owner: Mother daughter photo
- Who was the thief?: Maria

From the Planning Room, open the door to the Locker Room now.
Clues in Locker Room
- Delay notice (paper on corkboard immediately to the right after entering the Locker Room)
- Investigation notes (floating near the floor, opposite the delay notice)
- Thomas apprentice (photo floating in front of Llewellyn’s locker, in the northeast corner of the room)
- Thomas notes (notebook in Thomas’ locker, between Llewellyn and Denzil’s lockers)
- Thomas interview 1a (wax roll near a barrel in the southwest corner of the room)
You now need to solve some more mysteries.
Mystery: The Expedition 2
- How were they behind?: Delay notice
- Further details: Thomas notes
- Who was responsible: Thomas
Mystery: The Investigation I
- Connected to purchasing: Isabel
- Connected to construction: Kaymar
- Connected to engineering: Thomas
Mystery: Investigating Kaymar 1
- Point of concern: Kaymar Interview 1a
- Examples of his work: Unfinished reports
Now go ahead and open the door leading out of the Locker Room and onto the deck. Go right after this to meet someone at the railing.
