Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough of Echoes of Silenced Bells in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is an open-world action RPG where you play as Coen. Now, Coen is a different type of vampire, as he has access to witchcraft and vampiric abilities at night, while remaining human during the day. He will also have access to witchcraft while in his human form. For more information, check out the game’s Steam page.

As you have now completed the prologue, the next quests are going to get much harder. You will even see the red skull symbol, showcasing that this quest is extremely challenging. So, here in this guide, we will provide you with a complete walkthrough of Echoes of Silenced Bells in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

The Blood of Dawnwalker – Echoes of Silenced Bells Walkthrough

As you reach Anca, talk to her and agree to go with her. You can leave and come back later, as there is no time limit for this quest, but do note that there is a time limit to save your family. So, there are going to be some things you will have to keep in mind.

Now, before heading to Anca, we recommend leveling up to at least level 12. This way, you will not have as tough a time as you would at level five or six. So, explore the world, take down camps to anger the vampires, and keep leveling up.

Then, use the perks to upgrade or level up your skills and get ready to start the quest. Then, simply follow Anca through the fog, and when you enter the area, you will be attacked by a corrupted nun. Take her down and then investigate her body.

Then, a cutscene will commence. You will also have a conversation with Anca, and once that is done, follow her again and another cutscene will commence. After that, you will get some more objectives, with most of them being optional. That said, while the game says they are optional, some of them are necessary.

Secure A Safe Passage Through The Library For Anca

Now, what you have to do is head straight north through the courtyard and keep going north. At the very northern side of the area, there will be a shack. Head inside, and you will find the Monastery keys.

Now, if you aggro any of the nuns, you will have to fight them or remove their aggro before you can enter any of the buildings.

So, it is better if you head there while hugging the wall and staying away from the nuns. The game does not tell you where you can get the keys, so head north and enter the shack to obtain them.

Once you have them, there will be a couple of shacks you can open in this area. Open them, collect the loot, and then what you need to do is very important.

Now, there is an optional objective of checking out the infirmary, and that is what we will do.

Check Out The Chapel

The chapel is on the left side of the area, just ahead of the infirmary. Open the door of the chapel using the keys you just obtained, and you will be able to enter inside. Then, inspect the body, and it will have The Relic of St. Tryna, which is an item you need to progress this quest.

So, pick up the item, and then you can complete the optional objectives or head straight to the infirmary. The front door of the infirmary will be locked, but you can head to the back side to trigger a cutscene.

However, it is better if you go and complete the optional tasks too, as they will not take long. Simply head to the bell tower, open the gate, head to the top, ring the bell, loot everything along the way, and then head back.

Investigate The Sounds Coming From The Infirmary

Now, what you have to do is head to the back of the infirmary, and you will see a cross-shaped window. Head there and inspect it, and then you will have a conversation with Brencis’ soldier.

He will demand that you give him The Relic of St. Tryna, so give it to him if you do not want to fight the soldiers.

If you do not give him the relic, you will have to fight three of the soldiers, which should not be too difficult.

Return To Anca

Depending on how you proceeded with the quest, you now have to head back to Anca. Talk to her, and then a short cutscene will commence. After that, you will have to follow her to find the library.

Shortly afterward, you will have to push the bookcase out of the way, and then you will enter the catacombs.

Search For The Forbidden Books In The Catacombs

Now, follow the path ahead and keep track of where you are coming from and where you are going. It can be pretty easy to get confused and accidentally head back toward the area you came from.

Simply move forward while defeating the enemies, and you will eventually reach the end of the catacombs.

That said, do keep in mind that a boss fight awaits you, so make sure you are at full health. Your vampire form will be particularly helpful here. So, either spend some time using the shrine or unlock some perks. Either way, make sure you are prepared and have your vampire form available.

That way, if you lose health in the catacombs, there are going to be rats you can feed on to recover your health.

There is also going to be plenty of loot throughout the catacombs, so make sure to press L2 to highlight everything you can interact with. This can make it much easier to spot useful items while you are making your way through the area.

Defeat Leonica, She Who Speaks With The Devil

Once you reach the end of the catacombs, you will have to face Leonica. Simply put, she is not going to be that tough, but if your level is too low, then you are probably going to end up in trouble.

That said, even if you are at a low level, we will try our best to make this fight easier for you.

As the fight starts, head close to her and start attacking. Do not stay at long range from her, as she has access to powerful long-range spells. Be sure to focus more on parrying her attacks, as she can hit you hard, and if you have unlocked the Riposte skill, then you can deal some pretty hefty damage to her.

She has around four bars of health, and once you have taken out the first bar, Leonica will disappear, and some nuns will spawn.

As the nuns are spawning, head toward them immediately and start attacking. This way, you can take out at least one of them before they have the opportunity to overwhelm you.

Now, note that you cannot feed on the nuns, but you can do so on Leonica. So, whenever you are running low on health, make sure to take advantage of this opportunity.

Taking Down Leonica

If you have more activation points, then using special skills on the nuns is not going to hurt. Keep attacking, but do not forget about parrying, as that is absolutely necessary.

Leonica does not really have that complicated a moveset, so parrying her attacks should not be too difficult once you understand her patterns.

However, she has an AoE attack where she charges it and then throws bones in all directions. That can be avoided pretty easily. Just stay a little away from her and dodge when she launches the attack.

She also has an attack where she throws the bones in a single direction. Simply move behind her, and you will have a significant opening to attack Leonica.

Another attack to keep in mind is her crow attack. She will send several blood crows toward you, but they are very easy to dodge. Simply avoid them and close the gap to attack Leonica.

We found using the claws here to be more efficient, so try them out and see which weapon or ability works best for you.

Once you have defeated her, a cutscene will commence, and you will have to talk to Anca.

Talk To Anca

Now, as you are talking to her, you will get two main choices to make, and there will be a limited amount of time to select them. So, make sure you do not run out of time.

For the first choice, we went with the second option, and for the second choice, we went with the first option.

Throwing the notes into the fire is the right option, as you need to save her from this situation.

Then, if you want to explore the catacombs further, select the second option. If you want to get out, select the first option.

And with that, the quest Echoes of Silenced Bells comes to an end in The Blood of Dawnwalker.
