The Blood Of Dawnwalker Walkthrough – Smoke And Ashes & From Above

Welcome to the Into Indie Game walkthrough of the Smoke and Ashes & From Above quests in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is an action RPG where your character, Coen, is a vampire by night and a human by day. This condition is not normal among vampires, as they cannot stay out during the day, making Coen special. For more information, check out the game’s Steam page.

As the game is an RPG, there are some important decisions to be made. So, here, we will provide you with a walkthrough of the Smoke and Ashes & From Above quests in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

The Blood of Dawnwalker – Smoke And Ashes Walkthrough

Now that the Bad Blood quest is over, the next one will be triggered right away. As the quest starts, your objective will be to go to Laslea with Anca to see what is left of the village and find out who survived.

So, simply head to the village with her, and do note that from your inventory, you can change into your clothes. Keep going ahead, and eventually, a cutscene will commence. As you are having a conversation with Anca, you will get some options to choose from.

Select the first one and then follow up with the second one. Then, the conversation will be over, and your objective will be updated.

Search Your Family Home

Your main objective is to find your family, so head straight to your house. As you are making your way to the house, there will be a couple of wolves. Take them down and then head straight to the house.

Then, head inside and inspect whatever you can, and you will find Lunka’s doll. There, on the window, will also be a piece of cloth.

Investigate it and then see if you missed anything. Then, head out through the other door and enter the other area where Coen’s room is. That said, on the way there, there will be some footprints. Inspect them and then enter the room. Inspect the bed.

If the objective does not update, make sure to check everything thoroughly and inspect all of the important objects.

Head Back To Anca

Now, exit the house, and as you do, a cutscene will commence. Then, as your conversation with Anca starts, you will get to choose two options. We went with the second one. Then, a pretty interesting cutscene will commence, and once that is done, you will get your next objective.

Cast Compel Soul On The Dead Soldier

You now have to cast the new skill you learned on the dead soldier. Press R2 and then give the input to cast the spell. After the first attempt, Anca will ask you to do it again.

Now, you can leave, or you can do it again. We recommend doing it, so select the first option.

Then, follow up with the first option again, and then select the first option once more.

Find Items Of Importance To The Dead Soldier

Now, in order to find these items, first of all, turn around. In the opposite direction of the tree, you will see a banner. Press L2 to highlight it and then interact with it. There are also going to be some bodies right next to it. Interact with them as well.

Once you are done with that, head back to Anca and, while facing her, head left. Keep going ahead and make sure to press L2 to see if there is something you can interact with. If it is related to the quest, it will shine yellow.

Head left and follow the path to the left.

There will be a drinking gourd, so pick that up, and just ahead of it will be another item you can interact with, but it will not be necessary, as the next objective is already available. Even if it is not available, you can simply head to the soldier and cast Compel Soul.

Cast Compel Soul On The Dead Soldier And Use The Catalysts

So, now that you have the items of importance to the dead soldier, head back to him and cast the spell again. Now, there are going to be three to five options (depending on the catalysts you have). Do not select the last two.

So, now you have to choose from the first three options. We went with Brenics’s Banner and then selected the first option.

There is no need to select the rest of them, as you already know what you need. Then, a cutscene will commence, and later on, you will have a conversation with Anca. There are no difficult choices here, so when the conversation is over, you will get your next task.

Go To The Village Gate

Now, you have to follow Anca, and she will lead you to the village gate. Once you are there, you will get the objective of removing the rubble blocking the gate.

Interact with it to remove the rubble. Then, as night comes, Coen turns into a vampire.

You will have a conversation with Anca, so go with the second option. Then, follow up with the first option.

With that, the quest Smoke and Ashes will be over in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and you will have 29 days left to save your family. This is where the game has truly begun.

The Blood of Dawnwalker – From Above Walkthrough

Now you have to simply head to the marked location. Once you are at the tower, jump down, and there will be three enemies you will have to defeat. Now, as you are a vampire, start attacking them, but do not forget to dodge, as you are not immortal.

That said, you can also use your swords to fight. Once you have taken two of them out, and if you are low on health, feast on the third one to recover some of your health, and then take care of him too. Once you have defeated them, loot their bodies and head to the top of the tower.

Now, look up, and you will see that there are some wooden platforms. So, use the Shadowstep ability to walk on the tower and continue going up using the platforms. Once you reach the top, your objective will update.

Scout The Area From The Vantage Point

There is some loot too on the top of the tower just below the vantage point. Once you have taken the loot, head up there, and before you reach it, you will get the option to press the button to scout. So, simply scout the area, and the quest From Above will be over in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Now, this is the part where you need to complete different side quests and grow stronger because the next quest is going to be much more difficult. As this is an open-world RPG, you will have to get stronger by completing some side quests.
