Welcome to our walkthrough of The Drifter, a point and click adventure from Powerhoof Studios.
In this part of the walkthrough we meet Bill and Angela, die for the first time and escape being drowned.

Chapter 1: Welcoming Party
Pick up the phone from the ground.
How do I call my sister back?
You need to charge your phone. Pick up the phone charger cable your pack behind you.
Talk to the man next to the abandoned car next. His name is Bill. Exhaust all dialogue options.
Where can I charge my phone?
Check the abandoned car’s hood first.
Check the interior through the door next. Use the charge cable on the interior. You will now need the key to the abandoned car.
Where do I get the key for the car?
Talk to Bill again. He has the keys. Once he gives you the key use it on the interior of the car.
You will need fuel to get the car running.
Where do I get fuel for the car?
Head to the right of the screen to the jetty. On the far end of the jetty is a can of petrol.
Put it in your inventory and head back.
How do I start the car?
Use the petrol to fill up the car tank. Try the key again.
Check the engine and ask Bill to fire up the car. You need a replacement fuel line. Talk to Bill again and head to the underpass.
How do I find a hose?
Speak to Angela, the reporter, a couple of times. Then walk to check the broken washing machine.
Angela will show you a knife that you need. Talk to her again. She needs information. Exhaust all her dialogue options and go talk to Bill again. Exhaust all dialogue options with Bill and come back and tell Angela what you learned.
Once you are done with this conversation, she will give you the knife and go off to talk to Bill. Use the knife on the washing machine and you will have your hose. Head outside.
Where did the key to the car go?
You will hear screaming coming from the jetty. Go that way and you will see Angela being kidnapped. Nothing much you can do here. Just interact with everything and review what you know till you get knocked out.
How do I escape being drowned?
Check your inventory for the knife. Won’t matter though, you will die.
Once you are resurrected, try the knife again on your wrists. Take the sack off from your face.
Try the knife on your feet now.
As the can of petrol floats by you now, grab it and use the hose pipe from your inventory to take a breath.
Try the knife on your feet once more. This will end Chapter 1.
