Welcome to our walkthrough of The Drifter, a point and click adventure from Powerhoof Studios.
In this part of the walkthrough we meet the Monster and escape the hospital.

Chapter 3: From out of the grave
Speak to Annie multiple times and exhaust all dialogue options.
How do I prove to Annie I am a fugitive?
Show Annie the newspaper, the one with the headline regarding your fugitive status.
Pick up your mother’s ashes. The man in the yellow jacket will show up and shove a gun in your back.
How do I escape from the yellow jacket man?
Select your mother’s ashes from your inventory and hand them to Annie. Then grab the shovel on the left.
Use it to swing the gun away from the yellow jacket man. After the commotion, he will go wait for you in the chapel.
How do I escape the cemetery?
The cops are covering the exit so head to the graveyard.
Speak to Annie. Once the conversation is done, try to exit the area. When you can’t hide behind Alec’s gravestone.
Use your shovel on the ground, once Alec shows you the way.
How do I escape the underground crypt?
Check around the area.
Use the lighter from your inventory to see Alec. Next try the door on the left. After the conversation go right of the area and inspect the masonry.
Interact with the masonry. You need your hands free and more light.
How do I make a torch?
Get the alcohol soaked handkerchief from your inventory. Hang it on one of the hooks. The left one preferably. It will make sense later.
Use the lighter from your inventory to set the cloth on fire – creating a torch. Interact with the masonry and a monster will appear.
How do I escape from the monster?
If you haven’t created the lantern on the left side hook. You will die here. Then the timeline will reset to before you made the torch. So now hang the cloth on the left sided hook.
Light it on fire.
Hide in the darkness.
Wait for the monster to pass you by and move to the left of the beam.
Cut the vines with your knife causing the roof to collapse.
How do I climb out?
Pull on the coffin from a neighbouring grave.
Now take the umbrella from your inventory and pull it down.
Where can I hide?
You are going to hide inside the coffin.
How do I escape the darkness?
Use your lighter.
Eventually use the knife. Interact with the darkness till the story progresses.
How do I escape the hospital?
Talk to the doctor. Press the nurse call button next. The yellow jacket man will show up.
Watch the sequence play out till the nurse comes in. Go through all the dialogue choices with the detective.
How do I survive the poison?
As the nurse has just poisoned you, you will come back to life. Now talk to her. Once she leaves pull out the IV bag.
Keep talking to the Detective.
How do I survive being smothered?
She will be back and will try to smother you. Interact with the bedside table to get the remote and turn the tv on by interacting with it.
Interact with her to see she has a syringe in her pocket. Now press the nurse call button. Watch the scene play out.
How do I survive being shot?
Take the syringe from the nurse’s pocket while she is talking to the cop.
Fill it up with poison from the IV bag.
Use the syringe on the cop. Check his body for the key to the cuffs. Change back to your clothes. Soon Sara will show up. Leave with her to end the chapter.
