In this part of the walkthrough, we finish the story by blowing up Trinity Biochemicals and escaping the desert.

Chapter 9: Ascent into Madness
After you climb out of the wreckage – you are on level 4 and need to find a way to the top of the Trinity Biotech facility. Walk to the right and climb the ladder, mired in darkness.

What do I do?
You need to avoid the Mulindji and find ladders on each level, and climb up. After the monster on this level goes to the left, you can find the ladder on this level.

You will run into Hara in the next level.
How do I survive the attack?
As the Mulindji bursts through and attacks you, you will be incapacitated. Interact with Hara for help.

Hara just saved your life but now he needs help. Look for a weapon. The probe looks like it will work.

Or not. You need to make the probe stronger. Look around, Dr. Klein’s room is just behind you. Maybe something in there can help?

Pick up the EMP coil and the battery and then combine the battery with the probe. Instant cattle prod. Go back and help Hara by using the makeshift weapon on the mulindji.

What do I do now?
You need to meet up with the others and get ready to leave. Also you need something to seal the hatch so the Mulindji cant escape. Go up the ladder here to the top floor.

Exhaust all options with Sanjay and Annie. You know two things – something is holding the blast doors together and you need to find something to seal the hatch.
Where do I find what I need to seal the hatch?
Go back to Level 2 and to the right and then to the cafeteria. Gnarly scene here, Angela is tending to Klein who is bleeding out. You need to help him.

How do I save Klein?
Go back up to Annie, maybe she has something. Well, she gives you a pair of scissors. Cant stitch Klein up with just scissors. Go back down and inspect everything carefully.

Use the scissors on the tent to get a fishing hook. Go back to Annie and show it to her. She will need it sterilized and she will need thread. Go back out and go to Klein’s room – maybe there is something there.

Pick up the dental floss. Combine it with the fishing hook.
How do I sterilize the hook?
Go back to the cafeteria and at the back is the coffee machine. Run the thread and needle combo under the steam.

Go to Annie and give her the thread.
Where do I find what I need to seal the hatch? (back to this)
Check the table next to Klein and show him the item.

Go back to Hara and use the magnetic clamp to seal the hatch.

Hara will go off to gather the others.
How do we escape?
Meet up with everyone on Level 1. Inspect the jerry can on the floor.

It’s empty. Show it to Hara and deduce that Roth has drained it. Sanjay will go down to the reactor so go with him. Take the knife that Hara gives you.
How do I get fuel?
Go to the left side backup generator and roll the fuel back to the lift.

Go back to fill up the can too and a Mulndji will appear. After taking care of the Mulindji and the unfortunate accident, you need to head back up.
How do I go back up?
Go up the vent the Mulindji came down in.

The place is swamped by Mulindji, leaving you no place to run to. Head to Synthia Roth’s hidden room.

What do I do with Sophia?
First thing is to get the mask off her face. Now she is crashing out. Look around, how can you help?

Check the defibrillator on the left. Use it on her now and talk to her when she wakes up.

She is unresponsive. Leave her for now.
How do I make weapon?
With all the Mulindji around, you need a weapon. Go back to the reactor and check Sanjay’s body. You can pick up his keycard.

Go back up and find Sanjay’s room.

Use the card and get in. Pick up the pressure sprayer from the floor.

Hmmm. Flamethrower maybe? Go back down to the reactor and pick up the jerry can. Fill up the pressure sprayer with fuel.

Now you need an igniter to light the nozzle. Go up to Sophia’s room and check the medical carts on the right.

Combine the bandage, jerry can and pressure sprayer to make a home made flamethrower. But you still need to light it. Go back down to the reactor and go to the right – interact with the fire here to light the flame thrower.

Test your new weapon out. Once the Mulindji is down, head back up to the corridors and use it on the monsters there.

How do I open the hatch?
Check the ladder on the left. Its locked with the magnetic clamp. Knocking on it doesn’t help. So use the EMP coil from your inventory to knock it off. But you need power, so use scissors on the defibrillator in your inventory to get the battery pack and use it on the EMP coil to power it up.

Go back for Sophia.
How do I get Sophia to move?
She is confused and scared. She needs to feel safe. Maybe a weapon will help. Check your inventory for the knife that started all this and give it to Sophia. Talk to her again and you will both go up. Pretty soon you will be attacked by wasps. Use the flamethrower on them with extreme prejudice.

How do I get back to the top?
Repeat the process and yell at the hatch (by interacting with it) till Annie opens the hatch.
How do I remove the clamps?
Go up the stairs on the right.

Use the EMP device on the clamps.

Head back down to the others.
How do we escape?
Watch the impressively animated cutscene.
How to beat Roth?
Talk to Hara, to see if he has suggestions. He will ask you to reach for the gun.

Won’t work. What now? You can’t reach the gun while Roth is watching. Talk to Hara, for other suggestions. He will ask you to shoot Roth with something. The only thing you can use is the EMP coil. So use that. Notice how the wasps behaved, although nothing happened to Roth himself. You need to distract Roth. You can throw items to Hara (use inventory items on Hara), and then tell him when to distract Roth (talk to Hara).

Throw the EMP coil to Hara and ask him to distract Roth. Roth will pick up Hara. Talk to Roth to goad him into using the EMP coil.
How do we escape the desert?
Go to the left of the scene. Check the helicopter in the distance.

Pick up the sheet of steel to the left. Watch the ending play out.
