Chapter 7: Friction

After Jorge wakes up, open the bedroom door and head out, approaching Melinda by the desk. Converse with her as you see fit.

After the conversation ends, you will have a bunch of new objectives. Grab the camera from the coffee table and go to your balcony.

Focus on the Eusebio, who will be coming out of the church (or already out of it). After Jorge comments, the first objective will be done.

Focus on the repair shop’s main door, and after Jorge’s comments, the associated objective will be done.

Focus on Aldo’s bench by the archway, and Jorge will comment, completing the objective.

Focus on Lola’s room in the cabaret (top floor), and Jorge will comment again, finishing off the last objective.

Go to the transmitter on the dining table and pick it up to report your findings to Melinda. Go through the options (there will be a brief pause between each report).

Wait for Mel to return, and then converse with her as you see fit. When you’re done, go to the pinboard behind the nautical chart.

For “Who is the stranger…”, use the picture of Haussmann in the morning newspaper (found to the right of the pinboard).

For “How is Haussmann connected…”, use the note on the bottom-left that says “Haussmann was close with the commander…”.

For “What are the list entries…”, use “Melinda’s brother was killed in a raid…”, the poster on the bottom right.

Chapter 8: Return

After Jorge wakes up, approach Mel and decide what to do for breakfast. After the conversation, grab the camera from the coffee table and head out to the balcony.

Focus on the middle floor of the cabaret, where you will find Carmen out cold. Alert Mel, and wait for their conversation to end.

Next, focus on the bouncter, El Blanco, as he patrols the outside of the cabaret. To distract him, use the phone booth trick.

Return to your telephone on the desk, pick it up, and call the phone booth. After conversing with the bouncer, focus on Carmen again and talk to Mel over the transmitter.

After Mel is done investigating, wait for her to head back out of the cabaret and move towards the plaza. Focus on Aldo, who is sitting on his bench, and direct Mel to him via the transmitter.

After Mel finished conversing with Aldo, you’ll have a new timed objective.

Focus on the waiter by the entrance to the cafe, and direct Mel to talk to him.

Focus on Dona Anna in her top-floor apartment and direct Mel to go to her.

After you’ve completed these two objectives, Mel will comment on the printing press. First, take a picture of the printing press like you did before, via the window on the roof. Then, focus on the entrance of the repair shop and direct Mel to go in.

This is followed by Mel conversing with the kids, and then commenting on an alternate route. By this time, you will hear music coming from the cabaret.

Focus on Lola in the cabaret garden. Direct Mel to talk to Lola. Wait for her to enter and talk to Lola.

After Haussmann arrives and starts talking to Lola, take a picture of him. Next, direct Mel to eavesdrop on him. The conversation will go on for some time. After Melinda’s comments and Haussmann’s departure, focus on the black car near the cabaret’s entrance to have Jorge comment on it.

Next, focus on the church and take a picture of Haussmann again.

Wait for Mel to head back up and then, after the conversation, return to the pinboard behind the nautical chart.

For “Was Haussmann involved in…”, use the sketch titled “Aldo saw Haussmann leave…”, which is to the bottom-left of the pinboard.

For “Who is Haussmann connected to?”, use the photograph titled “Haussmann has contact with the Church”.

For “What’s wrong with Carmen?”, use “Carmen is receiving payments from Haussmann”.
