Disclaimer

As The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian features a large number of choices and branching paths, the Chapter 5 walkthrough is based entirely on the decisions we made during our own playthrough. Your choices may differ from ours, which means you could experience different outcomes or encounter events that never appeared in our playthrough. Likewise, some events and decisions covered in this guide will only be available if you closely follow the same choices we made, so keep that in mind while using this walkthrough.

25 Years Old – Honor Above All & Love of the People

The first event of the chapter is triggered if Jerian’s Creed has been triggered. This event reduces the points in rebellion by two.

Then, the next event, Love of the People, will be triggered. In this event, you will have to choose between four options. The first option weakens your relationship with the Human Nobility as well as the Commoners, but removes one point from Rebellion.

The second option adds one point to Rebellion, while the third option weakens your relationship with the Distinguished Arknians but improves it with the Human Nobility. If you choose the last option, your relationship with the Distinguished Arknians as well as the Human Nobility will improve. It also adds one point each to Jurisprudence and Logic.

We went with the last option but had to use five points from the Legacy of Tempests to unlock the requirement.

No Mercy

The next event will be No Mercy, which is a Blood Tide event. There will be three options to choose from. The first option has a Sanity requirement. It increases the Legacy of Tempests by 10 points, removes one point from Logic, Will, and Love, and adds one point each to Passion, Blood, and Law.

The second option simply adds one point to Logic, while the third option removes five points from the Legacy of Tempests but adds one point each to Love and Diplomacy.

We went with the third option.

26 Years Old – Going on a Trip

As Jerian turns 26, a new mechanic will be introduced. You now need to go on a trip, and there are going to be six destinations to choose from. We chose Astinia. The next event depends on the location you choose, as each destination triggers a different event.

Since we chose Astinia, A Prince in Pieces was triggered. In this event, there are going to be five options to choose from. The first option weakens your relationship with the Distinguished Arknians but improves it with the New Faith Clergy and also adds one point to Equality.

The second option does the opposite with the relationships and removes one point from the Power of Tempests. If you choose the third option, your relationship with both factions will improve. The fourth option weakens your relationship with both factions but improves the Power of Tempests, while the last option also weakens your relationship with both.

We went with the first option.

Martial Duty

In this event, there are going to be three options. The first one weakens your relationship with the Commoners, removes one point from Will, and improves your relationship with Lucretia. The second option weakens your relationship with both the Human Nobility and the Commoners while also adding one point to Rebellion.

This option also removes one point from Will and improves your relationship with Lucretia. The last option weakens your relationship with Lucretia and inflicts the Estranged status on her.

We went with the third option.

27 Years Old – Going on Another Journey

For the next journey, we chose Marga, and The Art of Building Bridges event was triggered. In this event, there are going to be five choices. The first option weakens your relationship with the Great Houses but improves it with the Distinguished Arknians, reduces Rebellion, and also reduces the Power of Tempests.

The second option does the opposite with the relationships, removes one point from Equality, and weakens your relationship with Gaius. If you choose the third option, your relationship with both factions will improve. The fourth option weakens your relationship with both, adds one point each to Equality and Jurisprudence, and reduces the Power of Tempests.

The last option weakens your relationship with both factions.

We chose the second option.

We chose the second option.

Then, the next event, The Primate’s Duty, was triggered for us. In this event, the first option weakens your relationship with Uther Tempest, the second adds one point to Love, and the third does the same but severs your ties with Orgrif.

We chose the second option.

28 Years Old – Going on the Third Journey

For the third journey, we chose to go to Costana, and The City at the Foot of the Pillar event was triggered. There are going to be five options to choose from. The first option weakens your relationship with the Old Faith Clergy but improves it with the Human Nobility. It also adds one point to Jurisprudence and two points to the Power of Tempests.

The second option improves your relationship with the Old Faith Clergy but weakens it with the Human Nobility. If you choose the third option, your relationship with both factions will improve.

The fourth option weakens your relationship with the Distinguished Arknians and Human Nobility but improves it with both the Old Faith and New Faith Clergies. It also removes one point each from Jurisprudence and Rebellion. The last option weakens your relationship with both factions.

We went with the first option.

The Nation’s Finest

Then, the next event, The Nation’s Finest, will be triggered. There will be four options to choose from. The first option weakens your relationship with the Great Houses, Distinguished Arknians, and Old Faith Clergy. It also removes two points from Rebellion, but Ovidius Lucullus will be arrested.

The second option weakens your relationship with the Great Houses and Old Faith Clergy but improves it with the Distinguished Arknians. It also removes one point each from Equality and Rebellion.

If you choose the third option, your relationship with both the Great Houses and Distinguished Arknians will weaken, and two points will be added to Rebellion. The last option improves your relationship with the Great Houses and Old Faith Clergy but weakens it with the Distinguished Arknians.

It also adds one point to Rebellion.

We went with the last option to prevent the Great Houses from becoming an enemy. Then, The Spark of Life event will be triggered, where you should choose the first option.

29 Years Old – Going on the Fourth Journey

For this journey, we chose the Valley of Flowers, which triggered the Fourth Church Council. There are going to be five options. The first one improves your relationship with the Old Faith Clergy and weakens it with the New Faith Clergy while reducing one point from Jurisprudence. The second option does the opposite without adding or removing any points from Jurisprudence.

If you choose the third option, your relationship with both factions will improve. The fourth option weakens your relationship with the New Faith Clergy but removes one point from Rebellion. The last option weakens your relationship with both factions.

We went with the second option.

This event will be the next one to be triggered, and there will be five options to choose from. The first option triggers another event, The Peacemaker, and weakens your relationship with the Great Houses and Distinguished Arknians but improves it with the New Faith Clergy and Commoners.

It also adds two points to Equality and four points to the Power of Tempests. The second option improves your relationship with the Great Houses but weakens it with the Human Nobility. It also adds five points to the Legacy of Tempests and removes one point from Will.

The third option weakens your relationship with the Great Houses but improves it with the Human Nobility. It also adds one point each to Logic and the Management skill. The fourth option improves your relationship with the Great Houses and Human Nobility but weakens it with the New Faith Clergy and Commoners.

The last option triggers another event, The Retreat, and weakens your relationship with the Great Houses, Distinguished Arknians, and Commoners. It also adds three points to Rebellion.

We went with the second option. Then, an event will weaken the rebellion.

A Broken String

Another event will be triggered if your relationship with Flavius is one or lower. The first option improves your relationship with both the Old Faith and New Faith Clergies. The second option improves your relationship with the Great Houses and Distinguished Arknians.

If you choose the third option, your relationship with the Human Nobility and Commoners will improve. The fourth option removes three points from the Power of Tempests, while the last option inflicts the Oblivion status on Flavius.

We chose the second option but had to use five points from the Legacy of Tempests.

The Overseer of Costana & Family Ties

Then, another event will begin, and there are going to be four options to choose from. The first option increases the Power of Tempests by three.

The second option improves your relationship with the Distinguished Arknians and Human Nobility. It also adds two points to Progress, one point to Jurisprudence, and one point to the Power of Tempests.

The third option weakens your relationship with the Great Houses and Old Faith Clergy while adding one point each to Progress and Jurisprudence.

The last option weakens your relationship with the Distinguished Arknians and Human Nobility.

It also removes two points from the Power of Tempests.

We went with the first option (only possible if Jerian’s Creed event has been triggered).

Then, the next event, Family Ties, will be triggered. The first option is the best one to choose here as it increases the Power of Tempests by three.

Now, in this event, there are going to be five options. If you choose the first option, another event, Finale: The Spearhead, will begin. With the second option, The Servant of Blood event will be triggered, and you will gain 30 points in the Legacy of Tempests.

The third option adds five points to the Legacy of Tempests, while the fourth removes 30 points, adds three points to Will, and triggers The Forsaken event. The last option triggers the event Finale: Oblivion.

We went with the third option.

Then, the next event, The Unification Mystery, was triggered for us. The first option triggers the event Finale: The True Emperor, while the second triggers Finale: The True Tempest. The third option kills Uther, and the fourth option severs your ties with Orgrif.

We chose the fourth option.

Manifesto & At The Senate

In the manifesto event, there are six options to choose from. The best option to choose is the fourth one and will only be unlocked if Cornelius is an ally and the Beloved By All event was triggered before. We chose the fourth option, which improves the relationship with all of the estates.

Then the final event, At The Senate, will be triggered. We chose the first option as it improves the relationship with the Great Houses, Distinguished Arknians, and New Faith Clergy. However, it weakens the relationship with Commoners and Old Faith Clergy.

With that, Chapter 5, The Millennial Senate, will be complete in The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian.
