The NOexistenceN of Morphean Paradox is a visual novel with a touch of turn-based gameplay set in the world of the Forest of Silver Shallots. You’re accompanied by a girl called Lilith in this story. There are different factions here, each with its own problems. At its core, you have to find out what’s going on and what exactly happened to you ever since you stepped into the Forest of Silver Shallots. A Short Meeting Before The Journey
As soon as you launch the game, you’ll be greeted by a mysterious girl. She’s here to take you to the Forest of Silver Shallots. She talks about meeting you again later on in your journey.
You can ask her several questions, and she’ll also tell you her name, and it’s Lilith, a name you’ll be seeing very often in your journey.

In the next scene, you’ll wake up on a throne. There are servants alongside you. It appears that you’re the Demon Lord Rahabet. You feel this strange foreign presence, and your words and your actions aren’t your own.
You’re a Demon Lord, and your castle is being attacked by a group of adventurers. Your servants inform you that you’re not in an advantageous position, but you don’t falter.

The Great Battle
Immediately after, the group of adventurers enters your castle. These adventurers: Lilith, Kallen, Fouco, Sartre, and Green, have great synergy and are being led by an unusually plain-looking warrior wearing simple iron armor, who seems a little out of place among these other adventurers.
However, you quickly realize that looks can be deceiving, and this warrior, the leader, is quite proficient at battle and tactics. This man, called the Morphean Paradox, serves as the backbone of the adventurer’s party as they attack you head-on.

The adventurers managed to push you to the limit, and you unleashed an extraordinary power, defeating the entire party with ease. But it’s not over. Once everyone in the adventurer’s party is defeated, Lilith uses a vial that causes Black Mist to surround you, destroying your entire body in a matter of seconds.
You then gain consciousness again, but this time, you begin to see the world through the eyes of the man wearing the armor who called himself the Morphean Paradox. But have you really defeated the Demon Lord?

Shortly after, you’ll start to look around, but you’ll notice that Lilith isn’t herself anymore; she has turned into something more sinister. Sensing the threat, you find an opportunity and thrust your sword through what Lilith has now become, but she is unfazed and wipes you out in an instant.

The Cylinder
You’ll then find yourself in front of a unique Cylinder. Here, you’ll have to answer certain questions. Each question here slightly affects your initial stats.
The Cylinder will ask you multiple questions, such as what type of strength you wish to have or what you wish to pursue this time. I picked the option to have great strength and the Mysteries of Magic as my wish.

You’ll then be asked what you would do if you were faced by a powerful enemy, where I picked the option to attack directly.
The last question asks you about what you would wish to sacrifice, something that you already possess, to defeat a powerful enemy. Here, I picked the option of sacrificing a healthy body.

Once you’ve answered all these questions, you’ll be able to make slight changes to the character, such as changing the race, the hairstyle, face, or voice, but for now, these didn’t have any meaningful effects.

A New Start
You’ll then wake up in a cart, surrounded by corpses. You’re still that man wearing the strange armor. However, you don’t have any memories. The only thing you remember is the ‘Morphean Paradox’. Unfortunately, you don’t have any idea as to what it means.
As you lie in the cart, you can hear the two men running the carriage. There’s also another voice, it feels like a corpse talking to you. This corpse is quite talkative. Shortly, you’ll get the option to try to jump out of the carriage.

The two soldiers are having a conversation, and they also mention a corpse whose armor they couldn’t remove. They are likely talking about you.
You can then choose to jump out of the carriage or continue to listen to their conversation. The jump has a little chance of success, so I picked the option to listen to their conversation to the end.

Sudden Stop
After a short while, the carriage suddenly stops. You can finally see the face of the corpse that has been constantly talking to you. Surprisingly, it’s a familiar figure.
You don’t know what her name is, or how she got in the cart, but you’ve got important matters to attend to right now. The carriage is being attacked, and you have to make a choice. You can either sneak away or stay and fight.

I picked the option to fight the enemies. You’ll then enter the combat interface, where you and the mysterious girl will have to fight together.
You can try out most of the skills here to get a feel of the combat. However, you’ll mainly be using the Magitech Circuit and the Shadow Pierce spell for the main character to deal damage to the enemies.

For your partner in this fight, you should focus on using the Blade Dance skill and the Piercing Shadow Thrust skill. Once you’ve taken care of the enemies, you’ll have to talk with the soldiers and the mysterious girl.
She will ask you if you want to travel together, or you can choose to travel alone. Here, I picked the option to travel with the lady.

Marigold Town
You’ll then shortly arrive at the Marrigold Town of the Griffin Kingdom. Here, the girl will introduce herself as Lilith, but you can only tell her that you don’t remember anything, except for Morphean Paradox.
Next, you’ll meet a group of adventurers. The two adventurers barely seem to notice you and end up bumping against you. However, there’s a third, cute female adventurer who apologizes to you properly before running off.

You can then explore the town to gather information before heading to the service centre. First, I went to the bakery, where I won the check, and the Bakery Owner confirmed that he had never seen me before. He points to the nearby Griffin Soldiers and tells me about Ronnie, an officer from the capital.
I then went towards the soldiers. Here, if you talk to them after successfully winning the check against the Bakery Owner, you can use Ronnie’s name for some extra information.

After that, if you check the notice board, you’ll find the wanted poster of someone named Karen Scarlet.

An Ordinary Sword
You’ll then be approached by a scrawny man clad in a robe. The man has taken a liking to your sword and wants you to give it up so that he can purify it. Lilith tries to tell you that you might be getting scammed here.
However, if you’re able to successfully refuse, a burly man will show up from the nearby alley. Engage in battle against the two and defeat them. They’ll drop a crystal before going away.

Since you’re feeling quite hungry by now, Lilith offers you some bread. Now, you can pick one of the three choices. You can either go to the military camp, do a check for the Alley, or go directly to the guild service centre.
I picked the alley option and was successful. You’ll find the group of adventurers from before who are looking for a package, which is right in front of you. You’ll get a choice to give them the package or keep the materials to yourself.

You’ll then return to the main screen. I picked the option to head to the military camp first. Lilith will give you the hood she grabbed from the scrawny man earlier and asks you to disguise yourself before heading to the camp.
Once you’re at the camp, you can talk to the guard there and get some gold. Now, if you go to the service centre, you’ll find it closed. Lilith is quite upset at the thought of sleeping outside once again.

An Unexpected Commission
It’s dark now, and you see a slender man dressed in a very fine coat standing at a distance, alongside a familiar little adventurer. As you approach, you’ll find out that it’s the same adventurer called Erin who apologized to you earlier, and she’s talking to a merchant.
The merchant quickly notices you and asks for your help. It appears that the other partners of Erin are taking too long and might be in danger with the merchant’s cargo, so he asks you to go and take a look in the Eerie Lands.

The merchant gives you 500 gold coins up front, so you immediately head out with Lilith. Once you’re out in the Eerie Lands, you’ll have to fight against a few slime-like creatures.
After the battle, you ask if Lilith knows about the Morphean Paradox, and she doesn’t seem to know. However, as you’re talking to her, you’ll hear the voice of the other two adventurers that you had been looking for.

The Cargo
Their cargo is being attacked, and they’re having a difficult time. You’ll get the option of acting immediately or waiting. I picked the option to wait and see what happens.
The adventurers had to eventually abandon the cargo, and that’s when the main character and Lilith will jump into battle. Your opponent will be two fairly weak Pink Bolins that you can defeat easily. Remember that you can use the main character’s Leader Skill after one turn in battle.

After securing the cargo, you and Lilith find a spot to camp. Lilith cooks Porin meat and mentions that she’d like you to form a guild with her. During the conversation, you also realize that the armor is a part of you, and you cannot take off your helmet.
As you fall asleep at night, you’ll see a dream where you see a familiar figure, saying that the Forest of Silver Shallots and the Morphean Paradox should never have existed.

New Plans
In the morning, you wake up, visibly troubled by the dream. Lilith greets you and prepares tea for you as you share your dream with her. She then comforts you until you’re feeling better.
Lilith will then ask you if you want to form a guild with her. Here, you can choose to accept her offer or decline it. I picked the option to accept her offer.

Once you accept, Lilith will embrace you, holding your head in her arms. She says it’s a ritual so that you can feel her.
After a short while, she’ll ask you to head to the service centre again, as it might be open. You also have to report to the merchant for the commission.

The Service Centre
You’ll find the Amber Scales Merchant at the service centre. He gives you a letter of introduction. You can also do a Charisma check to ask him to invest in you. I was able to succeed in the check and received a bonus of 1500 gold.
Lilith then heads over to the counter to take out the money you both have saved so far. Meanwhile, you can listen to the conversations around you or check out the quest board.

The people are talking about Mr. Wilson, the city’s famed knight and its holy guardian. They’re also talking about Kallen Scarlet as if she had been the reason the monsters around the area had been acting up recently.
If you check the notice board, you’ll also find the same wanted poster for Kallen, but there’s a newspaper attached to it here. The newspaper talks quite highly of Mr. Wilson to the point that it feels suspicious.
Once you return, you’ll find Lilith waiting for you, and you’ll have to share information with her to progress.

Forming A Guild
After sharing information, Lilith will pull out the gold and head to the receptionist with you. However, the receptionist tells you that forming a new guild costs 5000 gold, something that catches both of you off guard.
The Receptionist tells you that the increase in price is due to the changes on the front lines. She continues to take your facial scans.

The Receptionist reveals that Lilith already belongs to a frozen guild and cannot establish a new guild by herself. However, the man in armor can.
The name of Lilith’s old guild is ‘Huis Clos,’ and all information regarding it has become inaccessible. The receptionist tells you that you can inherit the frozen guild, and you won’t have to pay the registration fee if you do so.

Here, you’ll get a choice. You can inherit Lilith’s guild, or establish your own. I picked the option to establish a new guild.
The receptionist tells you that you need to have at least five members in 30 days to avoid being dissolved. After agreeing on everything, you’ll have to pick a name for the guild from the available options. I picked the guild name: “Supreme Guild of Heaven and Earth.”

After that, the Receptionist will tell you that you can take Lilith’s living space, but the thawing process for it will take a day, so you’ll have to wander around today. You’ll also be handed a field manual with information on several topics.

Wandering Around
As you head out of the service centre, you’ll have the option to wander aimlessly, staying and seeing what happens, or casually exploring. I picked the option to stay and watch. Soon after, people started gathering around a bulletin board.
Here, you can listen to the chatter or look at the Bulletin Board. Regardless of your choice, you’ll find an adventurer who will tell you that someone has been abducting people and hanging them out in the Eerie Lands.

The people think it’s because of the shapeshifters, but the victims have only been criminals so far. It feels like there’s something more sinister at play here.
After that, you’ll be able to explore the deep alley or wander around some more. I picked the option to go to the deep alley. Here, you’ll find a mysterious hooded figure. You can barely make out what they’re saying.

You get a check to draw your sword, ask them to show their wares, or tell them that you don’t want to buy anything. It appears that this figure is a merchant. However, I passed the check to draw the sword, and the figure went away without trouble.

The Guild Building
After everything is done, you’ll be able to return to the guild building. You’re officially a Guildmaster now. As you head inside the building and settle in, the little adventurer Elin comes again to greet you. She tells you that she lives with her party, next door.
She hands you some bread and leaves. Lilith then tries to find something to eat, but it’s too late to go out and purchase anything. You can offer Lilith to eat the bread that Elin brought with her.

Shortly after, Day 2 will begin. You’ll be living at your guild building now. You wake up and find yourself hungry. There’s a check to wake up, but it showed me 0% chance to pass it.
Lilith will then come herself to wake you up. She has prepared breakfast for you, and this causes you to wake up and eat with her.

After breakfast, Lilith casually mentions some familiar names around the town and says that it would be nice to recruit them. She mentions Fouco, Sartre, and Green.

Shopping With Lilith
You’ll be able to head out with Lilith to Marigold Town to do some shopping. You’ll realize that Lilith always figures out what you’re thinking, as if she’s reading your mind, even though your face is covered with the helmet.
She takes you to a store with a discount sale going on. However, multiple stalls are only offering very little discount. Here, you can do a check to either negotiate, draw your sword, or pick the other option, which is to purchase only what you need.

I did the negotiation check here and passed. This caused the guildmaster to go up to a shopkeeper and manipulate them to sell the goods at a much bigger discount.
You will then return home, ready to make dinner. Here, you can make the dinner yourself, or ask Lilith to prepare it for you. This is how your new life as a Guildmaster will start, and you’ll have to see where it takes you.
