Welcome to part 2 of our walkthrough for The Occultist.
Escaping the Parkers’ House and Barn, Alan finds himself at the front gates of the Godstone Memorial Hospital. As he heads inside, he’s met with a sinister presence roaming the empty halls of the facility.

The North Wing & Unlocking a New Skill
After the cutscene, you’ll find yourself inside the Godstone Memorial Hospital. It’s abandoned, but what’s even more spooky are the skeletons throughout the halls. You can examine a body on your right behind the receptionist’s desk.
Enter the lobby through the open door. There’s a map on the wall on the right, beside the locked double door you can examine.
The map shows the area’s layout. You’re currently at the Main Hall. The North Wing has three Consulting Rooms (A, B & C) and Dr. Saunders’ Office, while the South Wing has Bath Therapy, Emergency Room, and Nursing. There’s a corridor leading past the North Wing that leads to the Cafe and the Kitchen. The Pharmacy and two bathrooms are in the central part of the hospital.
Back away from the map and head through the open door into the North Wing corridor. You’ll spot a Stethoscope stuck between the doors of an elevator.
Turn right and continue along the corridor. The door to the Consulting Room A is blocked off. So is the door to Admissions.
Go into the Ladies’ Room at the end of the corridor on the right.
Turn right as soon as you enter and walk around into the cubicle to find a Necklace on the sink.
There’s also a newspaper under the sink in the main part of the bathroom that you can examine.
Head out of the Ladies’ Room and take the door up ahead to enter the Consulting Room B.
You’ll spot the White Raven sitting on a coat rack. There’s a skeleton on the chair. Inspect the document on the table in front of the skeleton. You can use an item with it.
You’ll spot an altar with candles on top directly opposite the table. Use the Pendulum to reveal an Hourglass.
Interact with it for a short cutscene after which you’ll unlock the Tempus Fugit. Tempus Fugit lets you manipulate time to discover hidden secrets and events.
There’s a locked door in the room that connects to the Consulting Room C. You can see a specter in the next room. But to enter, you have to find a name.
Head out of the Consulting Room B and return to the elevator where you saw the Stethoscope. Use Tempus Fugit to dislodge the Stethoscope. Pick it up.
Return to Consulting Room B and use the Stethoscope with the skeleton sitting on the chair.
This will trigger a cutscene where Alan has a conversation with the ghost of Dr. Saunders. He knows about Alan’s father but asks you to prepare Dr. Saunders’ Formula first.
You have to gather three key ingredients:
- Freshly Deceased Tissue
- Belladonna Extract
- Pure Formalin Serum
After the cutscene, the White Raven will fly out of the room. Follow it back to the main hall, where you’ll catch a glimpse of Whitney riding off in her wheelchair into the South Wing. The door to the South Wing is now open.
Preparing Dr. Saunders’ Formula
How to Avoid Whitney, the Ill
You have to navigate the different rooms in the hospital to find these items. What makes things difficult, however, is that from this point, Whitney will be patrolling the halls of the hospital. If she sees you, she will attack you. Go into one of the rooms of the hospital to escape her.
She won’t follow you into the rooms. You can also use the furniture and equipment in the corridors to hide from Whitney. She travels the entirety of the corridor from the South Wing to the North Wing.
Obtaining the Freshly Deceased Flesh
Head into the South Wing after Whitney rides off. You’ll spot a nurse’s skeleton on the chair on the right side of the corridor. Use Vera Visio to reveal the nametag, Sandra Connor.
Continue down the corridor. The first door on your right, leading to Bath Therapy, is locked.
The door to the Emergency Room is open. Head inside.
You’ll spot a skeleton on an operating table. There’s an open drug bottle on the table next to it. Use Tempus Fugit to reverse time. Examine it to collect the Human Tissue. This is one of the ingredients required for the formula.
Obtaining the Pure Formalin Serum
Hug the far-side wall of the Emergency Room and continue forward. You’ll spot a body on the floor. Interact with it to roll it over. Inspect the document on the floor.
Head toward the cabinet on the left wall of the Emergency Room. You can push it out of the way to open a path to the Bath Therapy room.
The first thing that you’ll notice when you enter the Bath Therapy is the body in the right tub and the skeleton on the left.
Use Vera Visio to reveal a hidden message on the tub with the skeleton. This is a hint for the puzzle we’ll have to solve here.
At the far end of the room, you’ll find a nurse’s coat. Use Vera Visio to reveal the nametag, Oliver White. This is the name that we need to unlock the door in the Consulting Room B.
Return to the Consulting Room B while avoiding Whitney and enter the name after interacting with the door. Head inside for a short cutscene.
Inspect the framed photograph on the table on your left.
Then head toward the table on the right side of the room and pick up the Make-up Set.
Return to the Bath Therapy room. The specter that was locked in the Consulting Room C earlier will now be in the hall. You’ll have to sneak past the specter.
Interact with the skeleton on the left tub and use the Makeup-Set. Then paint it like the body on the right tub. Use the blue tint for the eyes and red for the lips and nose.
The cage on the tub will open. Pick up the Formalin and inspect the document.
Obtaining the Belladonna Extract
Return to the South Wing corridor and continue down the path. Go into the Nursing room at the end of the corridor on your right.
There’s a chalkboard on your left as you enter. The writing is mostly rubbed off. But if you use Vera Visio, you can spot an eraser here.
You’ll also notice some equipment on the table where you’ll have to prepare the Formula. But we’re still missing an ingredient.
Head to the far end of the room toward the cabinet next to the sink. You’ll find a form here. Inspect it.
It’s a prescription for Belladonna 50mg, but Dr. Saunders‘ signature is mostly rubbed off. You’ll have to fake the signature, but first you need to know how the signature looks.
Exit Nursing and run to the other end of the hall toward the North Wing.
There’s a table with three skeletons sitting around it where you can use the Vera Visio to reveal another nametag, Jessica Pierce.
Go left along the North Wing corridor, and you’ll spot Dr. Saunders’ Office on your right. On your left is the Gentleman’s Room and Pharmacy.
Enter the Gentleman’s Room first by crawling under the door. You’ll spot a note on the ground next to a skeleton.
Turn left and enter the urinal section to collect another Necklace.
Head into Dr. Saunders’ Office next. Turn right as soon as you enter and use Vera Visio to reveal two certificates displayed on the wall.
Check the document on the large conference table.
There’s a drawing on the coffee table on your right that you can examine.
Go to the office table and inspect the document here. This is where you’ll find Dr. Saunders’ Signature.
Before leaving the office, head to the chalkboard at the corner of the room. Pick up the Blackboard Eraser.
Return to Nursing and inspect the form again. Replicate Dr. Saunders’ Signature that you saw on the document.
If you manage to fake the sign properly, you can take the Saunders Recipe.
Run to the North Wing and enter the Pharmacy (opposite to Dr. Saunders’ Office).
Interact with the locked medicine cabinet and use Saunders Recipe.
The door will swing open, and you can pick up a bottle of Belladonna.
Mixing the Formula
Now that we’ve got all the required ingredients, we still have to figure out how to mix them all. Return to the Nursing and interact with the chalkboard. Use the Blackboard Eraser with it, then use Tempus Fugit to turn back time and reveal the completed formula.
- Belladonna 100 ml.
- Formalin 250 ml.
- Tissue
Then use all three ingredients with the mixing equipment on the table.
Interact with the equipment to start mixing the ingredients. Add Belladonna first until the jar fills up to 100 ml. Then fill up the jar with Formalin up to 350 ml. The Tissue will get added automatically.
This will trigger another cutscene. Dr. Saunders will mention a book and hand you the Car Keys. He’ll also tell you to take Whitney’s Nails.
Escaping the Hospital
Exit Nursing and head to the North Wing. Go through the double door on the right with the red signal light. If you remember the map, this leads to the Cafe and Kitchen area. Don’t worry about Whitney anymore.
You can see and hear Whitney singing in the Courtyard. But you can’t reach her.
Continue along the passage till you enter the Cafe.
Head into the kitchen through the door near the bar.
You’ll spot the exit door as soon as you enter the kitchen. But it’s locked, and you need a combination to get out.
Check the kitchen countertop near the window for a note that tells you the location of the codes. It’s spread out in three parts:
- In a drawer
- Behind the vending machine
- Under the table
Check the drawers behind the bar for the first part of the code: 13
Push the vending machine in the Cafe out of the way to find the second part of the code: 72.
Check under the table in the kitchen where you found the note for the final part: 8.
Go to the exit door, enter the code 13728, and head outside.
You’ll spot a car parked in front of the gate. Use the Car Keys to enter the car and drive off. This will trigger a cutscene.
