Navigating the Maze

After getting off the elevator, you’ll find yourself inside the maze of Redler Manor grounds. You have to cross the maze to reach the manor itself.

Thankfully, navigating the maze isn’t all too difficult. You can use Caecus Corvus to check the layout from above.

Alternatively, you can simply follow the lamps as you continue moving forward.

Along the way, you should spot a bench with a raven sitting on it. You can pick up a Necklace from the bench.

Keep following the lit lamps, and soon you’ll find the exit.

Head to the main gate of the manor and enter through the main door.

NOTE: At first glance, the Redler Manor can seem a bit overwhelming because of its sheer size. However, once you understand the layout, you’ll note that it’s actually pretty easy to navigate.

Finding Emilia

As you enter the Redler Manor, you’ll arrive at the Lobby. Take the stairs at the other end, and you’ll spot a Stone Book on a pedestal at the top.

Pick up the Stone Book. The door behind you, near the Stone Book, is locked for now, but it leads to the central area of the manor.

Go back down the stairs and check the door at the center of the ground floor. You’ll see an automaton next to the door.

Use the Stone Book with the automaton, and the door will open. You’re now in the Central Hallway of the manor. The door straight ahead of you leads to the Ballroom, but it’s locked.

Follow the hallway along the path on the right. You’ll spot a locked door on the right that requires a name to unlock.

Go to the door at the end of the hallway and head inside. This is Emilia’s Room.

Step into the room to trigger a cutscene. She asks you to find the fragments of the Codex hidden around the mansion and bring them back to her.

There’s a note in the room addressed to Captain Newfish in the room that you can inspect, along with a photograph on the drawer cabinet. Inspect the cracked mirror just above it and take the Hour Hand.

Completing the Codex Lumina

Obtaining the First Codex Lumina Fragment

Return to the Central Hallway and follow it to the other end. You’ll spot a piano. Keep walking toward it.

As you cross the Ballroom door, you’ll hear the sound of bells. Look up to spot a giant clock over you. Note the time reads 10 o’clock.

Head to the piano. There are two doors. The door on the right is locked. Inspect the left door.

Use the Hour Hand on the door, then set the time to 10 o’clock using Tempus Fugit. The door will open, allowing you inside the Clock Room.

There’s another puzzle that you have to solve. First things first, head toward the Sundial on the ground and use Vera Visio to inspect the shadow cast by it.

You have to get the two shadows created by the cranks to match the shadow you see in the Vera Visio.

Head toward the two cranks on the side and rotate them to match the shadow. Use Tempus Fugit to change the size of the minute hand to match the length you see using Vera Visio.

When you manage to match the shadows, the door on the other side of the room will open. You’ll also see a hidden cabinet emerge from the ground.

Check the cabinet to find the first Codex Lumina Fragment. Pick it up.

Then head through the door to enter the Study.

Finding the Codex Lumina

There’s a ladder leading up to the first floor of the manor from the Study. Don’t go up just yet.

Instead, head to the left section of the room, after going down the steps, to spot an empty painting frame.

Use Vera Visio to reveal the painting. Examining it, you’ll find the name “Agatha Porter.”

Check the coffee table nearby for another Necklace.

There’s a room in the lower section of the Study that connects back to the main Lobby of the manor. Interact with the door to unlock the shortcut.

Then use the ladder to head to the upper floor. Interact with the book on the pedestal.

This is the Codex Lumina. But the middle two pages are torn. The fragments that you’re looking for make up the missing pages.

You can attach the first fragment you found in the Clock Room to the top left part of the book. You still have to find the three remaining parts.

Turn around, and you’ll spot a door in the corner, near the Codex. Head through the door to reach the First Floor Hallway of the Redler Manor.

Obtaining the Second Codex Lumina Fragment

Entering the First Floor Hallway, you’ll spot a specter standing by the railing on the left section. If it spots you or you get too near, it will start chasing you.

Turn right and follow the stairs to the top.

You’ll see a door similar to the Mausoleum door you saw in the Cemetery. You’ll need a Lions Key to unlock it.

Go down the stairs again to the right. You’ll spot a door straight ahead. Head toward it.

As you go down the stairs, turn around to spot another blank painting. You can use Vera Visio to reveal the painting for another name, “Charly Whitmore.”

Head through the door across the stairs to enter the Display Room full of antiques and artifacts. You can interact with the objects, but that’s not important. Crawl through the vent on the ground on your right.

This will take you to Gabriel’s Room. Pick up the Woman’s Picture on the left. Then head to the main part of the room.

This will trigger a short cutscene where Alan talks about his father and promises to finish what he started. After the cutscene, go to the drawer cabinet in the corner. You’ll find the second fragment of Codex Lumina here. Pick it up.

Exit the room through the main door to get back to the First Floor Hallway.

Obtaining the Third Codex Lumina Fragment

Before we head to the third Codex Lumina Fragment, check the hallway on the right as you go down the stairs.

Turn right at the fork to spot a locked door. There’s an automaton near it. You need another Stone Book to unlock this door.

Follow the hallway to the left to reach a door with a combination lock. This will take you to Cole’s Room.

Go back to the fork and check the other end of the hallway. Turn right to spot a balcony with a raven sitting on the rails.

You can see the Ballroom below you from the balcony. Use Vera Visio to see the path drawn on the floor. You can also see a golden glow coming from the hoop of one of the statues on the ground.

Send a raven using Caecus Corvus and guide it through the hoops. There are four hoops in total.

Once you fly through all four hoops, a hidden compartment will appear in the Ballroom below. Use Caecus Corvus to retrieve the Lion Key from the drawer.

Return to the door with the path markings on the upper section and use the Lion Key to start tracing the path. You should already have the path in your Journal if you inspected the floor of the Ballroom using Vera Visio.

This will open the door to the Planetarium. Head inside.

Use Caecus Corvus to press three buttons (2 Star and 1 Moon) on the upper wall of the room. You’ll see a golden glow showing you which buttons to hit.

This will open the sphere in the upper part of the central mechanism. The third Codex Lumina Fragment will be inside it. Use Caecus Corvus to grab it.

Obtaining the Final Codex Lumina Fragment

Exit the Planetarium and head all the way to the left in the upper part (where you saw a specter near the railing). Make your way past the specter. It shouldn’t attack you if you crouch and move slowly.

Use the Woman’s Picture on the large blank canvas on the wall.

The wall will move out of the way, revealing a hidden Painting Studio. Head inside.

Head to the far end of the room and you’ll spot two small canvases on the left.

Replicate the painting on the empty canvas and take the Painted Canvas.

Note the drawer near the wall with the weird symbols. You need to set the correct symbols on each dial to open it.

Head toward the projector near the entrance of the room and use the Painted Canvas on it. Then cycle through the colors to figure out which symbols to use on the drawer.

Check the image above for the correct symbols to unlock the drawer.

You’ll find the final Codex Lumina Fragment inside the drawer. Pick it up.

With all four pieces in your hand, return to the Codex Lumina at the top of the Study. Insert the pieces into the book to trigger a cutscene.

After the cutscene ends, return to Emilia. She’ll still be in her room. Head inside to trigger another short cutscene. This time, she’ll walk you into the Greenhouse through the connected door. She’ll also tell you to wake Cole, and music is the key.

How to Wake Up Cole

Escaping the Greenhouse

When the cutscene ends, head down the steps to the lower part of the Greenhouse.

You can use Caecus Corvus to grab a Necklace hanging from the ceiling of the Greenhouse.

You’ll find a Stone Book on a pedestal. Pick it up. But as soon as you do so, the gate will close, and you’ll be stuck in this area.

the occultist walkthrough

You need to solve a puzzle involving the four statue blocks nearby. Note the design of each statue. Also note the image drawn on the stone tablets on four sides of the central area. You can push the statue across the floor as long as nothing is blocking its path.

the occultist walkthrough

To solve the puzzle, you must move the blocks to circle in front of the stone tablet that represents them. The solution is as follows:

  • Move the Raven Statue to the tablet representing Death.
  • Move the Rat Statue to the tablet representing Disease.
  • Move the Pig Statue to the tablet representing Hunger.
  • Move the Wolf Statue to the tablet representing War.

Once all statues are placed in their correct position, the gate blocking your path will open.

the occultist walkthrough

Go through the door to enter the Library.

Take the ladder on the right to get to the lower part of the Library. Use Vera Visio to reveal the painting on a blank frame and get the name “Agnes Norton“. This unlocks the locked door on the right of the central hallway, just before Emilia’s Room.

Head toward the destroyed bookshelf. Use Tempus Fugit to turn back time and repair it. Then head through the door to return to the Lobby of the manor.

the occultist walkthrough

Go down the Central Hallway toward the locked door. Enter the name (AGNES) to unlock the door and head inside.

the occultist walkthrough

the occultist walkthrough

Go to the right side, and you’ll find another body on the ground. Do the same with Vermis Mentis.

the occultist walkthrough

This should clear up enough space for you to run in and grab the Silver Mask from the table. Run out of the room before the specter can catch you.

the occultist walkthrough

Head to the other side of the Central Hallway, toward the piano, and use the Silver Mask on the door on your right.

Head to the door on the far-left corner of the theater.

the occultist walkthrough

Use the Treble Clef Key to open the door and head into the Music Room.

the occultist walkthrough

Turn left and walk toward the long table on the left. There’s an Altar on the table that you can activate. Inspect the Piano Notes diagram hanging on the wall above the table.

Turn toward the automaton at the corner of the room and use Vera Visio to reveal the conductor’s Baton. Pick it up.

the occultist walkthrough

Check the white table next to the automaton. There’s a note on the table.

Cross-check this note with the Piano Notes diagram you found just now to get the code for Cole’s Room, “FADGE.

the occultist walkthrough

Exit the room and return to the stage. Interact with the sheet music on the conductor’s podium and use the Baton to trigger a cutscene.

the occultist walkthrough

When the cutscene ends, you’ll find the Vinyl Record on the sheet music. Pick it up.

Playing Music for Cole

Go back to the First Floor Hallway and make your way back to Cole’s Room. Enter FADGE as the code in the combination lock and head inside.

the occultist walkthrough

The sleeping monster in front of you is Cole.

the occultist walkthrough

A cutscene will trigger, and you’ll find yourself back outside.

Finishing the Ritual

When the cutscene ends, you’ll see a large set of stairs leading up to a temple in the distance.

the occultist walkthrough

Before going up, use Caecus Corvus to grab the Necklace from the lamp post on your left.

the occultist walkthrough

Go up the staircase and continue walking till you enter the temple. You’ll eventually reach the central chamber. Note the three bells hanging above you.

the occultist walkthrough

Head toward the ritual at the front of the Temple. You’ll see Orna‘s body inside the glass casket. There are four empty chairs around the casket and a fifth one with a skeleton (Tommy) sitting on it.

the occultist walkthrough

Interact with each empty chair to place the sacrifices you’ve collected on your journey.

the occultist walkthrough

Interact with Tommy at the end to trigger a cutscene.

the occultist walkthrough

Aron will appear, clinging to Orna‘s body like a parasite, using it as a vessel. When the cutscene ends, your final fight against Aron begins.

How to Beat Aron

the occultist walkthrough

To defeat Aron, you need to repeat two things a total of three times.

the occultist walkthrough

First, when he’s floating in the air with furniture spiraling around him like a tornado, use Caecus Corvus to hit one of the bells hanging above you.

the occultist walkthrough

This will cause Aron to get stunned and fall to the ground. Use Vermis Mentis to lure the swarm of rats toward Aron and attack him.

the occultist walkthrough

When he recovers, repeat the steps two more times. After this, Aron will yell out, but he’ll still be on the ground. Walk toward him to trigger the final cutscene. Congratulations on finishing The Occultist.
