Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for The Precinct.

Note that this walkthrough is based on the key provided by the game developers and contains no major spoilers.

You are Nick Cordell, son of the ex-Chief of ACPD. After the initial cutscene, you will be given control to go for a drive with Kelly. Our goal is to leave the precinct. Kelly will ask you to drive head down the stairs and get into the squad car. Take a look at the controls to learn how to drive and follow the map marker. We are heading to Chinatown.

Park you car in front of the hot dog stand. Buy a hot dog from the stand and get out of there. Pick any of the dialogue options you feel comfortable with during your conversation with Kelly. Missions in this game are called Callouts. Now, you will receive your first one. It’s a bank robbery at Mercer ACB Bank.

Get into your car and turn on the siren. Head to the location marked on the map. The response timer is ticking down, so make your way to the scene before the timer runs out. Once you park the car, get to cover and go through the shooting tutorial.

Now you will go to the pursuit section of the tutorial get into your squad car and follow the van. You will learn how to earn support tokens and call for support.

End the pursuit by taking out the suspect in the Van. Head back to the precinct.

Head to the evidence room and go through the cutscene. End the day at your desk. The next day, you will learn how to walk the beat. Check your handbook for the violations you need to check for.

Follow Kelly, to find some parking violations.

Next you will find a vandal. Deal with it with No Force. You can do a background check on him and check his belongings. But essentially just hand him a fine as he is not resisting.

You will come across another vandal. This time use your baton to take him out and restrain him. Remember to read him his rights. Call an escort unit next and send him off to the Precinct.

Chase the next vandal. Restrain him and escort him back to the precinct.

End your shift at the desk. But before that talk to Kelly and find out about August Gang and what happened to your father.

The next day – you will have to go visit the chief. You will meet Detective Lee and Ferrera. After the chat, head up to the helicopter on the roof.

Next, pursue the red sports car. Shine your spotlight on it and keep close to it during the pursuit. Call back up as needed.

The next day will bring the tutorial to teach you – how to deal with reckless driving. Find a speeding car, blip them to get them to pull over. Check ID and issue them a fine.

On the next car, you will need to perform a breath test on the perpetrator. Call an escort unit and neturalize the situation.

On the road again, find the next car you need to stop. It will be a pursuit. Get the blue bar down to where he stops resisting arrest by following closely and calling for cruiser backup. Once arrested, escort to the cruiser and take him back to the precinct.

End your shift after processing the perp. Meet the Chief at Kavanaugh’s in Litchfield.

Watch the cutscene. You will learn about the leader of the August Gang. Next you will be acting as backup for the Organised Crimes Detectives.

Enter the steel mill to provide backup. Clear out the room – there is a ammo pile on the right if you need to restock.

Once the room is clear head to the back and up the stairs to chase Kosta. He will lead you to an ambush on the roof. If you run out of ammo, there is a restock behind you.

Once the goons here are down, Force Restrain Kosta. Do not kill him.

Drive Kosta back to the station. Next, head to the briefing room. After the cutscene, head to the chief’s office. This will then end the prologue.
