Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for The Ranchers.
The Ranchers takes you into a cozy town where you own a ranch. There are several characters who will help you start out your career. Get used to some beginner tools and applications on your smartphone. Also, repair an old car or rent a bike to explore the town.

Starting Out
After your plane has landed, you will meet Meriem. Sit in the orange car, which belongs to her. If you have trouble driving, you can skip this quest. The car will reach the front of your ranch, open the front gate and go inside.
How To Build A Tent
Equip the blueprint from the bag, and place it where you want it on your ranch. Then equip the hammer and click on your blueprint to finish building. Go near the tent entrance and sleep.
Sleeping will end the day and show you the earning stats.
How To Get And Use Farming Tools
Victor calls you the next day and tells you about farming tools that you will find somewhere on your farm. Go to the southeast area, and you will find an axe and pickaxe lying on the cargo platform.
The axe can be used on trees or branches lying around to get wood logs. The pickaxe is used on rocks to obtain stones. While you are using tools, you can see the health of the breakables to know how many strokes it will take to break.
Tip:
You can eat to restore your stamina.
How To Earn Money
During the early game, you can start earning by using the Cash-In box to sell your produce. However, you will unlock better buyers with progress.
You will find the Cash-In Box near the cargo platform where you found tools earlier. Place items you want to sell inside and sleep to get your cash the next day.
Tip
At the time of writing, the ‘take one item’ feature in the Cash-In box is broken. You won’t be able to place the items back and lose them, so avoid it.
How To Start Farming
Go visit your neighbors, Gigi and Scott. They will help you get started with gardening in The Ranchers. You will obtain a hoe, watering can, and some garlic seeds.
Clear any obstacles and use your hoe to till the soil. You can also use the tool to clear the weeds in the area around your crops. Water your crops daily till they are ready to harvest.
You need a scarecrow to save your plants from the stray birds. Gigi will call you, and the craft app will be installed on your phone. Use it to find the recipe for a scarecrow.
You need hay to unlock the recipe, which you can obtain by using your axe on bushes. Purchase the blueprints with the materials. While placing the scarecrow blueprint, you will notice its active range, so place it to cover the most crops.
Tip
Make sure that you grow the correct crops for each season.
How To Repair Victor’s Old Car
Victor’s old car can be found broken around the eastern part of your ranch. It will cost you 3000 C. You can use the My Garage app on the phone to check vehicles.
While the car is being repaired, you can interact with the Bykii terminal to rent a bike.
