Chapter 1: Intro

  • This chapter is straightforward. Just turn the camera to look at Dei’s mother and interact with her. Then, interact with the stars she points to.

Chapter 2: Bedroom

  • Begin by turning on the lamp on the bedside table, and then picking up the envelope on the same table.
  • Our goal in this chapter is to recreate the photograph Dei’s mother took. We don’t have a train, but we do have a window and the required props (curtains, vase, flowers).
  • After reading the letter in the envelope, you’re free to solve the puzzles in the room.
  • Our first order of business is to find and retrieve Dei’s camera.
  • You’ll find the camera in a transparent safe under the TV, but it’s locked and you need a special combination to open it.
  • Look at the computer to the left of the bed and interact with the area to get a closer look.
  • Examine the greeting card to the left of the keyboard.
  • Here you’ll find Dei’s birth date, which is 05/24.
  • Now interact with the transparent safe under the TV and enter the code 0524.
  • Pick up the camera and the pocket compass.
  • Then, press the camera button that has just appeared on the right side of your screen.
  • Use the on-screen directions and controls to aim the camera at the bedroom window, so that the red shutter button becomes visible.
  • Now take a picture of the window.
  • Exit the camera view and approach the window.
  • Place the vase on the windowsill to the far right of the windowsill. Then, back out of the window area.
  • Next, we need the flowers. Look at the bookshelf to the right of the window. Interact with the beige album on the second shelf from the top.
  • On the second-to-last page of the album, you’ll find a loose piece of paper with an illustration on it. Take this piece of paper.
  • Now turn 180°, where you’ll find a computer on a desk. Open the right-hand-side drawer of this desk.
  • Pick up the book and keep flipping the pages until you get to a torn page. Use the piece of paper you found in the album on the storybook.
  • Now go back to the start and memorize the pattern sequence on the animals’ shirts. Note that the snake’s shirt is upside-down, as revealed by the torn page you found.
  • The pattern is (assuming north is up): North-West, East, South, South-West.
  • Look at the yellow-green box on top of the shelves to the left of the computer. Interact with this box.
  • Enter the pattern you found in the storybook here.
  • Take the origami flowers from inside the box.
  • Return to the window and place the origami flowers in the vase.
  • Now all we need are the curtains.
  • Look at the bookshelf to the right of the window, and you’ll find a puzzle at the bottom shelf.
  • Interact with this puzzle and using the turning and pin controls, have the stars align in a single line, which can be either straight or diagonal, and anywhere on the board.
  • After solving the puzzle, pick up the crank handle.
  • Look at the merry-go-round toy to the left of the window (next to a globe), and use your crank handle on it.
  • Interact with the crank handle to turn it, and pick up the wooden boy doll, which is on a white horse at the end of the toy’s motion.
  • Turn to the table in the center of the room and interact with the little toy house. Here, place the boy doll in the empty spot.
  • Then, pick up the poster and put it up in the empty space above the merry-go-round toy. Note that you have to interact with the empty space before you can put up the poster.
  • Now return to the shelf to the left of the computer desk.
  • Here, you’ll find a locked drawer at the bottom, which needs a symbol code to unlock.
  • The code corresponds to directions: North, East, West, and South. There are several symbols that need to be matched with the directions.
  • Back out of the drawer. Now if you look at each of the four walls of the room, you’ll find one of the symbols located somewhere on the wall.
    • The blue poster we put up is an 8-pointed star.
    • The framed scenery photograph is a diamond.
    • The calendar is marked with a 5-pointed star.
    • The map has a downward-pointing triangle.
  • Now, interact with the compass in your inventory, and you’ll find that the North is represented by the 8-pointed star.
  • So assuming that the window in the bedroom faces the north, you can deduce the other directions and symbols in the room:
    • N: 8-pointed star
    • E: Downward-pointing triangle
    • W: Diamond (default)
    • S: 5-pointed star
  • This should unlock the drawer.
  • Now pick up the curtains in the drawer and approach the window again.
  • Use the curtains on the window.
  • Finally, use the camera button and take a picture of the window scene.
  • This concludes Chapter 1 of the game.
