The Weeping Swan: Ten Days of the City’s Fall Walkthrough – Chronicle Chapter 4

Weeping Swan: Ten Days Of The City’s Fall is a visual novel in which the path to the goal is just as important as the destination itself, and the walkthrough for this game does justice to that philosophy. During the ten challenging days, you will be making difficult decisions, finding out more about what is going on in the city, and exploring and solving a few puzzles. The following walkthrough will not contain any explicit spoilers to allow you to experience the full immersion into the story; however, expect it to provide a balance of guidance and freedom.

Chronicle Chapter 4 : Escape

Chapter 4 has 4 specific choices you can make. We pick up with Zhiyou running from the East District with Little Yan. You will come up to a three forked road while running away. North South Avenue that leads to the North District, East West Avenue that cuts through the central district and finally a path to Zhangjia Alley which has an Abandoned Temple. The safest route, Zhiyou decides is the North South Avenue. He remembers scholar Yang’s brother has a hut there. But unfortunately, he and Yan run into the Golden Eagle King.

It looked like he was passing judgement on Minister Shi. With that done, Zhiyou and Yan ran from the Demon King’s gaze. Running from the soldiers will provide you with 3 choices. Back to East District, take the East West Avenue or the narrow Zhangjia Alley.

Retracing your steps back to the East District will get you caught and killed. Taking the East-West avenue to the Drill Ground, will cause you to die at the hands of a Boar Demon. The correct path to take is the south alley towards Zhangjia Alley. Going through the alley cuts down on the number of soldiers chasing Zhiyou and Yan. Yan will tire soon and you will have two options, head to the nearby Abandoned Temple or turn further into Zhangija Alley.

Going down Zhangjia Alley will result in death, so head to Guanyin Temple. At the temple you need to decide where to hide. On the roof beam or behind the statue. Both choices lead to the same outcome. Zhiyou wonders what is happening, either his disease is acting up and the tatars are invading or actual demons have laid siege to the city. He wonders how the Shun Dynasty would have been defeated if these are actual demons he was seeing. Hiding on the roof beam will start Remembrance Chapter 3.

If you hide behind the statue, someone will save your life by distracting the guard. If you hadn’t given the beggar money in Chapter 1, hiding behind the statue would be a death ending.

Remembrance Chapter 3: Hide

Zhiyou remembers what happened after Su Lianyan took his hands and ran all those years ago. They had hid in an abandoned barn in dry grass.

They spoke about how Lianyan’s parents were murdered by the government. He also remembers how they started a fire that night. Soon they will be caught. This will end the chapter.
