Weeping Swan: Ten Days Of The City’s Fall is a visual novel in which the path to the goal is just as important as the destination itself, and the walkthrough for this game does justice to that philosophy. During the ten challenging days, you will be making difficult decisions, finding out more about what is going on in the city, and exploring and solving a few puzzles. The following walkthrough will not contain any explicit spoilers to allow you to experience the full immersion into the story; however, expect it to provide a balance of guidance and freedom.
Chronicle Chapter 5: Illusion Shattered
This chapter finds Zhiyou and Yan at the temple. He is slowly regaining consciousness, Yan is crying and is hungry. Zhiyou doesn’t care for meals himself, but for Yan’s sake. As he sees Su Lianyan in her. Through the rain, they could hear the screams of desperate men and women. Zhiyou waited till the commotion outside died down before deciding to go out looking for food. He goes through the options in his head as to where he could find some provisions, he finally decides on heading to the south district. He decides to leave her behind at first but then changes his mind. He decides on the path, through Zhangjia Alley then Drunken Immortal Alley and then run south. As they pass the carnage, Zhiyou and Yan run into a mountain of corpses. Engulfed in hate and rage, Zhiyou and Yan find a Boar Demon. You will have 3 choices.
If you fight the demon soldier head on, you will die. If you try to bribe it, you will die. Your only option is to climb over the mountain of dead bodies. Climbing over to the other side, you will find a stranger open his doors for you to come in. You have two options.
Not entering the house will end in your death, so trust him and enter the house. Upon entering the house, you find out it’s a monk. His name is Konghuan. He offers his home for Zhiyou and Yan to spend the night in. Finally, the Monk asks the dreaded question, why does Zhiyou refer to them as Demon Soldiers. The monk tells Zhiyou while different looking the soldiers are still human. Zhiyou realizes then it must be Beast’s Affliction acting up. Konghuan wants Zhiyou to take up monkhood, Zhiyou tells him he has sinned. It doesn’t deter the monk. You will have two choices again.
If you decline to join, the monk will bring food and also the realization that Yan isn’t real. This will end the chapter. Trying to join the order would do the same.
Remembrance Chapter 4: Imprisonment
Zhiyou remembers a carriage taking him to Yangzhou and everything that happened. Su Lianyan was to be his uncle’s concubine and so was kept separate. Zhiyou would throw tantrums so she knew he was there. It was on this journey, that he learnt of Sun Wukong. Eventually he met his uncle and aunt and asked them head on why he meant to marry a child. An act that didn’t go down well. Later Zhiyou finds out his uncle had “procured” Su Linyan to surrogate a child for him. He also learnt she was kept in Fang’s Courtyard, the house that years later Zhiyou would run from. Eventually he would go meet Su Lianyan. Eventually Zhiyou’s uncle would die and their paths would once again split. And they will meet again 7 years later.
