Old Camper

Before we set out now, head to the Grove and install the Soul Shell near the spirit well (if you haven’t done so already).

This will let you increase your total number of field spritelings, and will also let you buy pips if you need them in a hurry.

In this part of the walkthrough, we will check out some upgrades to the Grove that you can get rightaway. These are both optional, but the Water Wheel especially will be very handy if you want more health or inventory space.

You will require the Emberlings for the below tasks, so this part of the walkthrough assumes you have completed the previous part.

For the Old Camper, head straight south from the Grove until you find some dry bramble to the west.

Clear it with your emberlings, and then send your spritelings to take the Old Camper. You will need 15 spritelings for this.

Water Wheel

Next up, here’s how to get the Water Wheel. For this, make a team of 5 twiglings and the rest as emberlings.

Head north-east of the camp in the Central Deep Woods and toss your twiglings onto a closed flower just north of a small horizontal pool of water. Head east over the unlocked lilypads.

Defeat the Gumblops here and proceed east. There are a couple of Bushbacks here, but you can avoid them if you wish by sticking to the south wall of the passage. There’s some dry bramble to the northeast here. Clear it with your emberlings.

Beyond the bramble is a faefly. This is a very dangerous enemy that flies, which you can’t attack directly, and which can snatch your spritelings with impunity.

To defeat it, toss your spritelings directly at the faefly until it is knocked down by the impact. Then, have your spritelings defeat the faefly. Also send your spritelings to defeat the faefly hive, which will open the gate to the water wheel.

You will likely lose several spritelings in this fight. If you no longer have 15 spritelings to pick up the water wheel, you can safely return to camp – the faeflies and their hive will not respawn.

After you get the Water Wheel, you should return to the Grove and install the things you found (if you can afford the scrap cost).
