A Raider is not only about the guns and armor they have, nor is it about the loot that you find. A Raider also needs to invest in themselves and improve their stats and gameplay.
This is where the skill tree comes in, helping you become a better, stronger, and more useful Raider. But there are a lot of skills in Arc Raiders, and you are probably wondering what to unlock or focus on first.

How Does The Skill Tree Work

The skill tree in Arc Raiders is separated into three major categories: Survival, Mobility, and Conditioning. Each category focuses on expanding a specific aspect of the Raider.
For example:
- Mobility helps you increase your movement speed and stamina management in the game.
- Survival grants you abilities that increase your chances of survival.
- Conditioning is more about quality-of-life upgrades.
These skills have five upgrades each until you reach the first threshold, which is 15 points in the specific category, and the second threshold, which is 36 points, where you can unlock a major skill.
Now you may be wondering how to upgrade a skill, but it is easy. You just need to level up to obtain one skill point, then spend it on the skill tree.
Every category is important, but it will also depend on you and your playstyle. You might disagree with some choices and agree with others, but these skills should definitely give you a head start.
Best Early Skills In Survival

In-Raid Crafting allows you to craft a handful of useful items while inside a raid. This means that you can use the raw materials you find to craft bandages or shield recharge.
This can usually be helpful to free up some space from your backup by using those raw materials, or when you are low on healing items and still have a long way to go to extract safely to Speranza.
Looter’s Instincts let you check the loot inside a container faster, and you know this is important, especially if you are looting a hot zone.
Normally, the loot takes a while to reveal itself, and this matter of a few seconds can not only help you loot more containers quickly and effectively, but also prevent you from being a sitting duck for the other raiders.
Best Early Skills In Mobility

Marathon Runner, in our opinion, is a must-have skill, no matter what type of playstyle you prefer, as this skill reduces the stamina cost of moving around the map.
In this type of game, you are constantly moving from building to building, to another area, and to the extraction points.
Youthful Lungs works perfectly with Marathon Runner, as this skill lets you increase your max stamina.
Higher stamina means more traveling distance to cover before you run out, more melee attacks, and so on. It is just essential to have.
Best Early Skills In Conditioing

Proficient Pryer reduces the time it takes to breach doors and containers, and in case you are not aware, you will be doing a lot of breaching.
Acctually, more than half of the time you will be playing, you will be breaching to get loot, and to be efficient, less time breaching the containers means more time looting other containers.
Gentle Pressure reduces the noise when you do the breaching, and it is already quite loud. However, this skill is subjective to pick.
It can be useful when looting high-loot areas or hot drop zones, as the noise will not reveal your location as much.
