Arc Raiders – Flickering Flames Winter Event Guide

Arc Raiders

Arc Raiders devs keep the new content rolling in order to keep the player base excited. For the end of the year, they introduced the Flickering Flames update.

This new update brings a whole lot of content and prepares players for the upcoming season. So if you’re curious about what’s all available, then this guide will break down every single thing.

Note
This is part of our Arc Raiders – Guides Hub, so we suggest that you start from there if you haven’t already.

Gathering Candleberries Event

The first thing that you will be able to see in the main menu after you launch the game following the download and install of the update is a new event called Gathering Candleberries.

Similar to the previous Stella Montis event, you can progress the Gathering Candleberries event by earning Merits.

Note
For every 100 XP, you will get one Merit, and you will be able to redeem multiple rewards using them.

XP is easy to earn in the game as any action you do grants XP, either by looting containers or killing arcs, so make sure to maximize it to earn a lot of Merits.

There are 25 rewards that you can obtain, and these vary from a new outfit and its variant, to raider tokens, and of course, a bunch of Candleberries, which you will need, and we’ll explain why later.

How To Find Candleberries

If you didn’t notice, the number of Candleberries that you will get from the event is not sufficient to fully complete the project. This means that you need to go out and farm some more Candleberries by yourself.

The only event in which they spawn is the new event Cold Snap. This is basically a major map condition that covers the whole map with snow and brings some exciting new mechanics.

Cold Snap Event Overview

At first, the snow does look good and all of that, but when you stay outside longer, your character will start shivering and eventually take damage.

So while looking for berries outside, be sure to keep an eye on your character. If they start shivering a lot or are covered in a lot of snow, you must go to a nearby building and warm yourself up before going back out into the snow.

Note
Unlike other major map conditions, all extraction points and hatch hatches are available for you to use to extract safely, so you don’t have to worry about that.

Candleberries don’t have a specific spawn, but one thing is for sure: they spawn in nature areas, given that they are a plant. So all you have to do is go to a nature area in any map and just run around and look for them.

For example, the swamp area in the Dam Battlegrounds, Marano Park in Buried City and the surrounding of Spaceport or Blue Gate.

Note
Stella Montis does not have any Candleberries.

You can easily recognize the Candleberries by the plant with red berries on it; it’s hard to miss.

When you obtain some, be sure to put them in your safepocket so you won’t lose them if you encounter hostile raiders or an arc attacks you.

Lucky for you, the Cold Snap event is happening every hour and rotating on all maps, so you won’t have to wait for it.
