If you have just started playing Arc Raiders, you will enjoy exploring the maps, looting buildings, and taking on challenging missions.
One thing that you are probably wondering before you start a match is why you see multiple locked maps that you can choose from, but you do not know how to unlock them.

How To Unlock Every Map

In order to unlock maps in Arc Raiders, you need to simply complete a specific number of matches to unlock them.
Each map will require a certain number of matches, and each map is unique in terms of layout and available points of interest.
The first map by default is Dam Battlegrounds, and it is the easiest among them to navigate and learn the ropes and basics of the game.
Practice Range

After you play and complete four matches, you will unlock the Practice Range.
As the name suggests, this area is where you can try different weapons, get better at aiming, and also get the feeling of climbing and moving around.
Buried City

The second map that you can unlock is Buried City, and you need to complete six matches for it.
This map is different, as there are a lot of buildings sinking into the sand and multiple tougher enemies to encounter.
Spaceport

Now that you have made it this far and played 12 matches, you will unlock the Spaceport map.
This is a very open map with multiple buildings, and somehow more players are camping inside these buildings, so be careful.
The Blue Gate

For the final map, the Blue Gate, which is our favorite, you will need to complete 18 matches in the game.
Not only does this map look beautiful and mountainous, but it also still features open areas, much tougher enemies, and somehow seems to have more Arc enemies here.
What’s The Best Map To Use

There is no single best map that you can use, as all of them are equal in terms of loot and Arc enemies. Surely, sometimes you will find a Bombardier in the Buried City and not in Dam, but it is always random in every match.
Every map has points of interest of certain departments where you can gather certain materials. While some maps may feature more, you just need to use all of them depending on what you need.
There is also a night version of every map, which is tougher to navigate. This is because vision at night is low, the enemies are tougher, there are fewer extraction points, but overall the loot is really good and better.
